And as just like before.
>Look at the image above yours
>Post 3 to 5 lines of greentext detailing an interesting character based on that image
>But if you've got more than 3 or 5 lines to tell, then go ahead
>You can contribute by posting your own image, even as a form of a bump
And six more images for extra inspiration. Plus, to the anon who actively wrote alot of greentext storylines at previous thread. Come on and shows us what you got.
Hey /tg/
Was dicking about in /wbg/ and got to thinking - anyone here like to use Theocracies in their setting? Have any cool traits or unique takes on the concept to share? I'll start.
>have coastal merchant city run by clerics
>city is stupidly rich off of dyes, gold, pearls, all sorts of trade goods
>the priests are kind of sketchy, yet affable and welcoming
>they're mostly hands off, leave the governing to bureaucrats
>players find out they secretly have rituals every month where toss people off a cliff outside of town to appease some primitive sea-dwelling god
>players investigate
>priests believe the sea god is the source of their wealth & fortune
>they decide said sea god is a crock of shit since conveniently all the sacrificial 'volunteers' are political enemies of the clerics
>players lead a revolution against the clerics, sacrifices are stopped
>people proclaim theme heroes, give them rich estates outside of the city
>months pass
>trade goods drying up
>pearls are gone
>fishnets are always empty
>constant storms fuck up the crops
>people go at each other's throats over the cause
>then one of my players realizes what's up
>the clerics weren't wrong after all
I'm especially interested in non-villanous examples. Hardly ever see those.
>>54843434
You might need a different patron for that.
I've based my theocracy on the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the sense that its spiritual leader declared himself the younger brother of Jesus and led a revolt against their failing monarchy
>>54843434
Pelor fucking love Theocracies, he pops them down whenever there's an opportunity to get his hands on one.
I found this... thing...
Fucking speechless. The only way for the game to end is your opponent to use door to Nothingness on themselves.
What kind of god would allow this?
Also, Troll Deck/Troll Combo general?

How does your character dress? They don't just stay in unadorned armor, do they?

anyone try my tactician homebrew i posted in the last thread?
im still looking for feedback for longterm playing.
In traditional Eberron fare, since it's the best setting.
Is there literally any reason to use a sorcerer over a wizard outside of eldritch blast spamming or twincasting buffs once per day?
Can we take a minute to discuss what's going on with this guy (Currently about $22 at tcgplayer)

EDH wizard tribal deck is comming out as a precon, (((they))) are happy.
>>54842312
Wizard deck got spoiled for Commander 2017. All good Wizards in Grixis colors are going to spike up for a little while. What's to discuss? This shouldn't surprise anybody.
>>54842474
'A little while'? This is never going back under $20, unless they reprint it in Iconic Masters or something.

Hey gents, post ideas for armor/weapons/items/drugs for any setting ITT.

How are LGBT folk handled in your setting?
>>54839314
They are treated like deviants they are.

Stop it with these fucking bait threads
>>54839314
Like the Middle Ages IRL. Nobody cares as long as they know their place (somewhat inferior and still responsible for designated baby-production if necessary).
How do you do demons correctly? Should they be tragic fallen angels or just angry monsters?
>>54839267
I prefer irredeemably evil powerful creatures, which are usually cunning enough to make deals with mortals, which they tend to keep to the letter, but still fucking them and everything they love over.
>>54839267
fallen angels are different from demons, but there are hierarchies in both. the only fallen angel is the devil. the rest are basically the spawn of Satan
I've been playing around a setting where the final battle between angels and demons was stoped by a tactical nuclear device.
after the rapture, the humans droped icbms and tactical nukes on the front lines of the final battle and killed most the leadership of both armies. now earth was just a bunch of demons and angels and creatures from hell and heaven and left over from the apocalypse and the humans that were left behind.
Sneaky, manipulative waifus just waiting to get redeemed by That Good Dick, unless they're extra sneaky and merely pretending
Better redeem them again harder, just to be sure
Talislanta, the most metal, 1980s, no-elves, doodles-on-the-side-of-your-high-school-workbook fantasy setting that nobody's heard of.
What is TALISLANTA?
An exotic post-apoc fantasy world inspired by the fantasy novels of Jack Vance, and by other sources such as H.P. Lovecraftās The Dreamlands, Michael Moorcockās Elric novels, and The Travels of Marco Polo.
The game is set in a strange world of twin suns and seven moons that's overflowing with exotic peoples, places, and creatures. The time is the New Age, a Renaissance-like period 600 years after The Great Disaster, a cataclysm that marked the fall of the Space Wizards of the Archaen Age.
Talislanta has seas of glass, phytomantic bird-people, tattooed clone warriors, transmutation wizards who use quintessence to change storms into crystals, sindarans with two brains, warring cultists who have taken over entire nations, elemental demons, ice schooners running on glaciers, windships manned by astromancers, beastmen mutants riding two-headed mini-dragons, and a whole lot more stuff that's a combo of every prog-rock album cover you've ever seen.
All the books are free, legally: http://talislanta.com/?page_id=5

>There was a rebellion of intelligent machines
>It killed millions of people until the machines were defeated.
How would the aftermath look like? Would we ban machines?
>>54838576
No, but we'd probably make sure it couldn't happen again by highly regulating the use of intelligent machines.
>>54838576
>How would the aftermath look like? Would we ban machines?
yeah, and we would drill talented people into doing high precision calculations in blink on an eye, make prison planet of the worst criminals where the survivors get drafted into elite military unit and we would snort mountain of space cocaine that lets you bed reality itself for high precision intergalactic transportation

Shut up, Jehanne Butler, you're drunk.
What kind of gameplay benefits could tactical rigs give in an rpg?
>>54838514
for rpg, like most ranged weapons, you're looking for + accuracy, + ranged damage, or + AoE range
>>54838559
tactical rigs don't effect weapons, they simply hold ammo and whatever else you need in a highly accessible way
>>54838514
depending on your system, +1 to reaction rolls (reloading, swapping equipment, recovery)

Chaps, what size/type of base is traditionally used for a defiler? I hate it free standing.
>>54837612
The 170mm oval base Imperial knights use, or possibly the base 130mm base Dunecrawlers use?
How do I go about converting this guy's head? Or is there a head that already looks like him?
I'm interested in using the Mongol aesthetic for a civilization in a game being put together.
Right now I'm looking at clothing, armor, weapons, etc.
Does anyone have Mongol character art to share?
And is the show "Marco Polo" accurate with regards to Mongol costumes?
Like the helmets and swords the Khan's household guard have. Are those an accurate Mongol style? Do they have a specific Mongol name?
>>54837419
The problem with the Marco Polo show is that (besides just being porn) it's all about Kublai Khan. Kublai was a sinophile adopting Chinese dress, culture, language, etc. If you want classic Mongol style look up anything pertaining to Genghis, Ogedei, or Guyuk. And listen to Genghis Khan by Iron Mask.
>>54837419
>Mr. short guard, next time donĀ“t put prisionerĀ“s hand next to your sword please. I would like to avoid scenes in which the said prisioner grabs a weapon and happens to be an unstopable martial artist.
The Great Khan.
>>54837480
>) it's all about Kublai Khan.
That's the great part. He's both a more interesting character and better acted.
