Was the block I started in, and have the most nostalgia for. The story for that block got me really interested in lore for the first time in my life. Chainer was given such a shitty time in his life. Mentor killed by his boss, and then eventually killed by the closest thing he could call a real friend.

It's no Time Spiral, Rath, Urza's, Invasion, Innistrad, or Ice Age but I guess it's OK. My first thought looking at it is to be sour that it's Otaria but really it was the abomination that was Onslaught Block that decided to shit the bed, Odyssey was serviceable.

Nah. It had shitty flavor and like 80% of the cards were literal unplayable trash. It did have some super nice individual cards though and threshold, flashback and madness are all ace mechanics so it's okay despite that, but it's definitely not the best block.

The best block ever is original Innistrad. 10/10 flavor, mechanics and power level. Other good ones include Tempest block (perfect in every way except that it has those annoying Weatherlight characters in it), Invasion block (same), Time Spiral block, original Ravnica, Khans, fuck, even Theros.

Flavor is literally the most important thing in a Magic set.

That's why people still have fond memories of shit like Fallen Empires even though it has like two playable cards. Because it had god-tier 20/10 flavor.
