My god! Is it finally happening?
Thog.
What is your technique to shuffle your deck?
do it wrong and all your cards will stick to each other at the button.
What is a fast and effective technique?
The way I do it is, make 6 little piles, and then shuffle them.
doing the Yugi style seem really bad
>>54929619
Mana weave followed by riffle shuffles. It's not cheating since I'm sufficiently randomizing it.
>Deal 5 piles
>Riffle shuffle each
>Side shuffle 1st and 3rd together, riffle shuffle
>Side shuffle 2nd and 4th together, riffle shuffle
>Split 5th into two and side shuffle one half into each of the larger piles, riffle shuffle each
>Side shuffle two piles together, then riffle shuffle three times
It's autistic but I like the methodicalness of it.
>>54929619
Mash around 9 times with intermittent small cuts. Fast enough and very effective. I'll do piles if I just made the deck. Pile shuffling should always have a prime number of piles.
>>54929653
Mana weaving is cheating if your riffles aren't enough to randomize. And if the riffles are sufficient, you're just wasting time with the weaving.

Don't sweat getting one in pristine condition. I like the second hand books I get to have a bit of wear. It shows they've been loved and have some history.

Your current adventuring party has been unceremoniously thrown into the world of MGE, and now they must if do a way to survive and not suffer a fate worse than death. How do they do /tg/?

My character is a warforged so he should be safe, the bard also safe surprisingly because he is as gay as it gets. The rest of the party is fucked
How do you portray Wizard NPC's?
What allignment do they usually fall into, and how do they fit in it?
What kind of personality traits do they have? (jumpy, distant, level-headed?)
also wizard art thread
>>54928495
Step one is to only have maybe five powerful wizards in your setting tops. Too many and you start to wonder why they don't just control the entire world.
Step two is to introduce one to the players early, to give them a sort of emergency button if you ever need one.
Step three is to make them completely neutral, so the players don't feel obligated to help them based on the wizard's goals, and instead plan their own.
Finally, all wizards have a secret agenda.
>>54928495
I tend to make my wizards jump all over the place in terms of alignment, but mostly I portray them as basically a monastic kind of profession. In order to learn and manipulate the secrets of the universe you aren't going to be able to focus on other things very much. If there's a Wizard-King or Wizard-Priest or what have you in a position of power and prestige somewhere, odds are they're very specialized and only have a few spells while they focus on the other profession primarily. True wizards are people who travel the world searching for knowledge and magic and understanding, and have to devote their lives if they truly wish to reach the heights of pure magic. You're more likely to meet a wizard on the road, share a meal and a story, and be on your way than find a wizard's tower or other such place of accumulated knowledge and power.
I guess it breaks down to the base desire I ascribe to the various magic classes in my campaigns, which in the wizards case is "I know." (Warlocks are "I desire", Sorcerers are "I feel" Clerics are "I believe", Druids are "I understand" and Bards are " I can" ) Wizards do what they do because they know how it works, and by knowing how it works, know how to do many more things.
>>54928495
The two "good" wizards the party has met are hired as top level government officials (sorta).
All others have been weak, and the one evil wizard is working with the BBEG (although they have not met him yet)
I have a problem /tg/
as many of you know, it's fucking hot outside, and as a result, I can't prime my shit. I have to prime inside, but unfortunatley i live with people who can't handle a little bit of paint fume. How can i prime my shit without getting gritty basecoat? also, give me criticisms.
>>54928307
Bring the can closer to the model when spraying. But make sure you don't drown the model either since the can will be closer.
>>54928307
Airbrush (so you can prime with acrylics - less smelly) with a quiet compressor and a decent extractor.
>>54929046
I'm assuming the guy doesn't already have an airbrush.
I'd say, just make sure you shake the crap out of the can so it's not naturally gritty, any maybe spray at dusk/night/morning when it is not so hot? Spraying inside is generally not an awesome thing so that is understandable to me.

I'm lookin to drop some serious cash. Just not on Warhammer 40k.
What wargame do you play? What games are good? What games are worth it? What games are going to be actively played in the next decade?
I like scifi, fantasy, and weird stuff so anything goes. Regular sized figures are a plus, but larger or smaller would probably be okay.
Has anyone here every played games with someone who their language wasn't the same language as the whole group?
>>54927811
Yes actually, it ended up being hilarious, as we made a point in 5e to use the multiple "Common" languages for humans as well so not everyone spoke "english". So one of the players was an Eastern Samurai kinda character, and he had like 4 languages, but none of which the rest of the party had nor understood.
it led to alot of Charades at the table.
>>54927811
Wait, as in a player or a character?
Right now there are two player characters in the party I DM for who don't have a complete grasp of English. One is a self-taught not!Egyptian who has frequent misunderstandings the NPC elf she seduced who also taught herself English. It gets even funnier when they're in bed. They're both exiles from their homelands and they both enjoy bashing the natives. The second character is a Selkie who managed to get some lessons from a cloister of monks before setting off inland. His speech is constantly broken and he has to use charades to portray his point at times. Another player character realized they both speak a dialect of fish-speak and was surprised to find he was pretty eloquent in his native tongue.
>>54927811
I always find it interesting if someone is raised in small enclave, like a city-state or a reservation, within a larger country. its more interesting than someone from a faraway land.
like the odds of someone in the smaller location not knowing the main language are slim but not zero, while the person from the larger country knowing the other language isn't zero either. so seeing two people who should but can't communicate with each other makes for really creative interactions and in-depth character arcs.

There are two serums available for purchase, one of them turns you into the gender you wish to be, and the other one alters your appearance to whatever the fuck you want.
This means you can excuse any figure, any hair color and any overall body.

The rules to this game make no sense to me at all. Can anyone help explain to me how this game works?
>>54926411
In a nutshell, off the top of my head:
>dice rolled at beginning
>players claim dice
>dice used to introduce compromising/funny situations
>everyone has a gay ol' time
Ozark feels like it was made by a couple of guys playing this game.
>>54926411
God. Don`t.
It`s ruining a time you could be having a nice RPG session or a improv session.
Don`t play Fiasco, don`t mix them.
It's honestly a very simple system that just seems complex at the start.
>Roll all the dice you need
>Use them to figure out everyone's roles, items, goals, ect
>Everyone takes turns playing out a scene with themselves as the main character of that scene.
>At the end of the scene, the others give you either a success die or a failure die (as in, did your character get what you want or not, not whether you're winning or losing the game)
>Go through it until you're halfway through the dice, roll the rest to squeeze in the tilt that helps spice up the game, then continue playing until the rest of the die are given out.
>Once all the die are given and the story is effectively over, everyone rolls their own dice and subtracts the smallest number from the bigger number.
>The remaining number determines the quality of your characters ending.
>Play out those endings briefly[
Congrats, you played Fiasco. The rules seem complex but in practice it's simple and it works out fine. The only weird rule is when you keep your own dice or give them to others, and that you can really just ignore as long as no one is playing to try "winning" the game.
