People who write this need to be gassed.
As for how do we end this? We go to HK and get cheap knock offs and flood the market so these fuckboys see their plastic toys value drop.
i'm a hipster with rich parents and i buy all your cameras.
fight me.

I fucking will, square go you cunt
Hey /p/, I want to bounce this idea off you. It's about making digital images look like they were taken on film.
1. Get an image with every color in it. I mean every color. Something like
>[(red, green, blue) for red in range(256) for green in range(256) for blue in range(256)]
2. Every time I get a new roll of film, take a picture of that rainbow image. Keep the light and all the camera settings constant.
3. Take the same picture with a digital camera. Again, use all the same settings and light.
4. Find the linear mapping between the film picture and the digital picture. For every pixel value, there should be a corresponding value that you can multiply it by to get it's twin.
This way, instead of relying on generalities like "fuji has cooler greens", we know exactly how much to move each green by to make a digital picture look like a fuji.
Potential problems:
1. Finding a printer or monitor that can render every color I need. Costco or my little dell monitor might not cut it.
2. There might not be a linear relationship. Like, maybe a particular red changes differently when it's next to a blue vs when it's next to a green because of some quirk in the film chemistry. I can't think of a way to detect or handle this, and I'm not even sure it's really a problem.
What do you think? Does any of this sound reasonable to you?
>>3131440
why don't you try it first you fucking retard

> This way, instead of relying on generalities like "fuji has cooler greens", we know exactly how much to move each green by to make a digital picture look like a fuji.
Film output is not constant. Your idea won't work. Suck my dick biiiiiiiiitch
Use VSCO
So I was talking to a friend who just got back from a doing an overseas shoot in Asia. He was telling me that a problem they had when doing street shoot was other photographers invading his shoot to take pictures of the models he paid and one even knocked over two daylight floods breaking one. This was in Hong Kong and when the translator started to ask for the guys information he just ran off. In places like Shenzhen there was as many as 8 people with DSLRs using flash and getting in the shot. Even with paid handlers these guys were so relentless they had to end the shoot early.
I've been to different conventions and have noticed if anyone poses for a shot theres sometimes someone who takes a shot from over my shoulder but they're pretty polite about it not getting in my shot or using flash.
Have any of you experienced people like this when you street shoot or is it just an Asian city thing to be an asshole by ruining someones job?

No.
>>3131333
>overseas shoot
>paid handlers
Tell us more anon.
Is your friend gwáilóu?
>>3131333
No. There are so many people taking photographs making movies, sitcoms, youtubes and other shit that most people just get fed up and ignore it. If things like that happened to your friend it is probably because they were shooting in a particularly busy, touristy area and generally making an exhibition of themselves.
>have to shoot an interview today
>room was dark
>missed focus
>>3131157
what potato were you using to shoot the interview if it gave you no indication on sharpness or the option to rely on autofocus if the viewfinder was shit?
>>3131157
I'm sorry, but that means you're not that good at photography
>>3131157
Stick to using iphoon n00b
One of my photos from my trip to Alaska last year. Been doing amateur photography for awhile now, so I'm not new to it. Thoughts, /p/?

Фeд were probably the last well built cameras from ussr. Everything else is shit. Zenits are probably the worst slr in the whole world.
I have never seen anyone say otherwise. Who told you that soviet cameras are good?

Good thread! Worth taking up a thread slot and pushing something else off the board!
A R A X
but only if you use based zeiss lenses and get rid of that Pentacon body
or get this
Ive been thinking about buying a used full frame canon since ive realized most of my current lenses will already fit. Older versions come quite cheap, actually on Ebay.
Got any recomendations? So far Ive looked at the 5D mark 1, is that worth it?
You could get a 5d2 for a bit more money.
>>3130645
Yes, is it that much better though? Ive always been dissappointed by Canons "updates"
>>3130643
It's a good camera.
Just understand its limitations in speed and low-light performance.
Use good timing, and take out a flash when it gets dark. Files do push 2.5ish stops from maximum (3200) and look about as grainy as what you'd get from Tri-X clumsily pushed 2 stops.

Hello /p/
My Nikon D700 died the other day. Completely dead, nothing happens when I try to turn it on. And now I find myself quite conflicted regarding what to replace it with. Ideally cost wouldn't be an issue and I'd simply get myself a D750 and something more portable for travelling.
I'm currently in the process of selling my old D3200 and some gear I don't really use (24mm AIS, 8mm fisheye, 35mm DX). Kept it for so long because of nostalgia and I thought I'd use it to video my son (born summer 2016), but carrying two cameras along as well as switching cameras is simply too cumbersome, so I barely have.
If it weren't for my need to have video, the choice would be simple as I'm generally quite satisfied with the Nikon D700 for stills.
Right now I'm leaning towards buying a new D610, but concern about its autofocus, viewfinder and handling have me hesistant, as well as the fact that it isn't THAT much cheaper than the D750. How do both these cameras compare to the D700 in these regards?
Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
Background: Got my first DSLR, a Nikon D3200 in early 2013. Enjoyed it immensely but I soon grew frustrated with the tiny viewfinder, handling and slow autofocus. Bought a used Nikon D700 in February 2016, abused it in Svalbard a little but generally taken good care of it. 145000 exposures when I got it, 150000 now. I also have a Nikon F90 and FM2 I use semi-regularly (the cost of film and development hold me back).
you can shoot a lot of film for the cost of a new DSLR
that said some sort of digital is handy, I don't really see the big draw to full frame myself. I usually shoot 6x6 and 4x5 film and when it comes to small forma, I don't see a huge difference between APSc and FF.
>>3130257
For me, the main frustration of crop sensor cameras does not lie in the size of the sensor, but in the aforementioned factors of AF, viewfinder size and controls. The Nikon D500 seems to be an exception in this regard, but it's even more expensive than a D750.
>>3129952
buy another d700 or spend a little more for a d800, not a d800e or a d810, but a d800.
again, cheap and fucking great
powershot g15, what can this camera do?

good luck finding a good super35, though

Any will do. Just crop top and bottom.
Focal lenght is a meme. It's just perpective and angle of view.
Tell me what I did wrong and right.
try again in the autumn when everything is more colorful
I'll use it for adobe lightroom, premiere and aftereffects
I don't need super speed, just everything works good
Any suggests? I've found just shit in physical shop
