street photography is not only overrated, it's also principally unethical. when you can get away with shooting someone, it's because you're lucky. rationally and objectively, people are not always ready to be taken pictures of, and they don't always want to deal with the hassles of confronting you and embarassing themselves so they kind of forgive you. the only acceptable non-portrait photography is party photography and photojournalism.
>inb4 muh emotion
art doesn't have to be emotional or sentimental. it should just look aesthetically pleasing and are done with effort and talent that not everyone has.
Ok.

or idk, whatever you call it.
Lets have a fun thread and talk about our accomplishments in photography and film making.
This is your chance to brag. Don't worry, you're anonymous.
I tricked a hipster chick into posing nude for me and letting me take photos of her hairy snatch. It was pretty rad.

So nothing that actually matters?
>>3134326
Had a short film i made up on the biggie screen, even wrote the synopsis for the leaflet. Was pretty neat.
>tfw you fell for the 16 GiB of ram meme
do you use Photoshop or just Lightroom?
16gb is about the minimum acceptable to run ps/lr concurrently tbhfam
Whats the point of Nikon camera?
Their sensor are made by Sony.
Their best lenses are made by 3rd party which is also available on other brand.
Obnoxious mount which prevent its user from adapting other lenses.
Their camera produces shitty image compared to other brands.
Seriously, while I think M43 is shit but I can acknowledge there are demand for them, but what does Nikon even have?
>>3133582
Why would you care? Is your life so bereft of meaning that this is the only thing you can think of to do with your time?
>>3133582
the only legitimate beefs I have with nikon are 1) their software is shit 2) they gimp their cameras and 3) their prices are high
but image quality? some of the best out there. that kind of complaint gives me the impression that you don't know what you're talking about
>>3133582
Are you an idiot or a troll? I'd like to know before I bother responding.

omfg that's terrible
>>3133456
oh bollocks, yep, i've done that too.
I bought a used Sony a6000 for $325 as my first camera. Roast me then tell me what lens to buy. I'd like to buy used if possible so my dollar goes farther but if there's something in that price range that's new I'd consider that too. Budget is ~$300.
don't buy a lens, shoot everything with the sensor exposed
Go the default "I bought a Sony because I'm too poor for lenses" and get some old Olympus or Minolta lenses. I GUESS you could get one of those cheap Sigma Art lenses too.
i could spend more, i just don't want to at the moment. what is someone who's never taken a serious photo going to do with more expensive camera?
i'll look into the olympus and minolta that will fit that camera.
i might be able to get a Sony SAL1650 16-50mm DT SSM f/2.8 for $300 if the stars align.

I got this today while on a walk through the town testing out the new G80. Did some basic editing on it

x-pro 1 with the 35mm f2. But ive been trying to find a good deal on the 18-55mm, because muh versatility. I like shooting on it with manual lenses too, but i find the peaking hard to see. maybe my eyes are shit.

It sucks. Take control of your camera, don't leave it up to automation that gets it wrong a lot of the time.
I got some good photos from using auto ISO. I'm still learning shutter and f stop so once I have those down I'll try to leave auto
>>3126910
I don't doubt it, all I'm saying is that you will get more control over your shooting process if you worry about shutter speed/aperture size more and use ISO as an exposure tool for the right setting.
Recommend me some books.
Not the beginner stuff, but something that will change the way I see the world through my eyes.
I want to relearn how to see.
