Ever since my brother and I sold our Z50R I've had a minibike/pocketbike/pitbike itch. I don't really have the money for a proper one and I would like to save the meager income I have to buy a truck (most important) and a real dirt bike (less important).
I figured I'd kill the in between time with an extremely tempting Chinese steal of a pocket bike. I have had decent experiences with Chinese motors in the past, namely Coolster and Qiye, and wonder if a few months of riding and a resale would be worth it.
All I really care about is that I can sell this for a profit to some unsuspecting person. (up to $200?)
Here is the listing; https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/49cc-mini-motorcycle-FLD-PB492-_511256588.html
Son of a cunt pit bikes are so cheap on there! For real, I bet you could turn a profit if the shipping prices aren't too high. I may just buy a pit bike off there... At $200, what's the risk?

Would I be too heavy for a pocket bike? I weigh
70kg and most of them seem to be aimed at preteens
Are you fucking retarded? Shipping alone is going to cost you a couple hundred.
http://www.chinadivision.com/shipping-cost-calculator?area_id=1&weight=25000&s=0-0-0&area=United%20States
Which is more cost effective? Pull the 350, rebuild it into a 383 with aluminum heads, or sell it off and put in a LS1/LS2?
>>17353158
Shit wrong pic.
>>17353158
Junkyard motor parts + dingle berry polisher would likely be cheapest.
See what you can find cheap then go from there.
A bit clueless about scooters and mechanics in general, but is it possible or easy to swap out a 2-stroke 50cc engine for a 4-stroke 90cc-150cc engine?
Thing is, I can only legally ride a 50cc or under on my car licence, and I figure cops wouldn't bother checking my engine.
Sneaky bugger.
Whats the point though? Do you intend to go over the speed limit? Thats a good way to die.
I have a 125 and I never go over the speed limit, that's just stupid.
>>17352949
50cc scooters can barely even go the speed limit.
I got my motorcycle license a month ago, and I bought a '94 vf750c. Honestly, just get your license then get whatever the fuck you want
Need help with insuring a 1966 Mustang I intend to buy.
Do I really have to call every company I want a quote from, or is there a way to see multiple quotes at once? All the online tools seem to only go back to about 1981.
I know I'm probably being dumb, but I'd like to avoid paying through the nose if I can. Progressive quoted me 2k for 6 months, which is... high. Any and all tips would be appreciated.
Look for companies that specialize in classic car insurance
I have my 69 cutlass insured under hagerty. They are great.
>>17352790
those seem to be for people who have a primary car and then also a classic one. The mustang would be my only car. Still think I should take a look?
What kind of car is this?
>>17352741
Mitsubishi Montero Sport

When will GM put pic related in Camaro?
> 535hp "LT6"
> new Z28 trim
> give it 1LE treatment
> shit all over GT350
> MSRP $50k, still under Corvette
>>17352711
Because they're too lazy, They don't need to and most people don't keep their Camaro's stock.
>>17352727
Too lazy? It's turnkey. They already make plug-n-play drivetrain with this engine.
> $37k Camaro SS
> +$3k price difference, -LT1, +"LT6"
> +$6k 1LE options
> $46k cost, $50k MSRP
> $4k pure profit for $9k in updates
>>17352711
That engine can't meet emissions right? i guess its like asking why Mazda never put the 26B in anything production. that isn't enough power to make a Z28 either. the Z28 name is reserved for naturally aspirated applications but that would be making less power than the ZL1 and the Z28 is supposed to be a step above the ZL1.
If they made a Z28 they would have to use a shit-ton of carbon fiber or something in order to make it weigh a lot less or have a Naturally Aspirated engine making 700HP at least. something would need to be done to make it worth buying over the ZL1. it can't just be a side-grade. we likely just won't get a Z28 this generation. hell, me may never see that name used again unless this DOHC V8 of theirs is making north of 700 HP.
I smoked the rear right brake on the company work truck today hauling a trailer down a hill was my first time hauling that trailer and i didn't think to downshift going down the hill, the truck was an f250 does anyone know if there's any maintenance that has to happen post brake smoking? i just let it cool down and finished hauling it back to our shop.
>>17352572
how do f250 brakes work?
>>17352576
disc brakes all around
>>17352577
try to get your eyes on the pads and just see if they aren't worn down and that the rotors aren't gouged
the smoke happens because of too much heat not being displaced fast enough
WHAT DID VW MEAN BY THIS
>>17352449
i wouldn't buy a car with that many lights even if i was a millionaire
>>17352449
>found a button in scrap car
>sold for $140
????
thanks for paying off my decals vw
What are the 3 top meme cars for top memesters in 2017?

they're 13"
Where does one buy OEM/replacement/performance parts? And do you buy parts from vendors that youtubers shill?
I only buy shit from rockauto. It's mostly OEM spec parts. I don't believe in buying "performance" parts for my 4cyl shitbox except tires and wheels.
>>17352152
>OEM/replacement
Dealership. I'm a Toyota mechanic so I pay 10% above cost.
>performance parts
UMS Tuning in Arizona. I know the owner so I get some pretty good deals.
>tfw stayed up all night watching car soap review videos
What's your favorite car soap?
Any other fans here? If you aren't listening to Car Talk on NPR you are seriously missing out. Funniest show ever, plus you learn a couple things top.
>>17352116
Pretty sure one of them died a year or two ago. Good show though. Very funny
Did you just now discover car talk? How old are you? 14?
>>17352116
>Funniest show ever,
Not really. I find it okay at best and usually gets annoying at least once during the hour. I switch back to some other talk radio.
I got 8k put aside for a car and I've been checking craigslist every day. Should I go for this E30? Thanks
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/6171122047.html
go for it anon, my dad still has one he bought new in 1989. great cars if you can take care of it.
Not bad. The coupes may look cooler but the sedans are stiffer and handle better!
Man that ad is so fucking California. Informative, matter of fact but still pretentious as hell. The car looks perfect to pick up to learn how to really drive and maintain a car with enough budget left over to not worry about surprises and maybe after a while do some mild tuning is it emissions exempt? Is anything there? I bet the guy would give you a much better price if you fluffed him the right way maybe really raved about his primary one he's keeping and act like you want to be JUST like him some day but you're just a poor kid and all you got is $2500 cash.
