Ok so I just got my part of a Will and I got a not-so-used Ranger 2005 like pic related (Manual, not auto)
Overall Im not in dire need of a vehicle so I would just use it for the random hookup with a chick or to go out in the weekend, is there any guide with tips and tricks for this kind of vehicle? Dont wanna crash it or damage it so early, also if you could provide some input on how to drive it better, I could appreciate it (I have always been a compact car person)
Thanks in advance

I'm in southern europe.

Anyone got a good recommendation on a code reader? Amazon has some cheap ones but you guys probably have a better idea on where the money can be best spent.

Most auto parts stores will scan your car for free. Can't beat free.
bluetooth OBD2 dongle + Torque app for your phone
i'm not sure what the purpose is of the more expensive scanners except to look for "ghost codes" stored by german manufacturers

Look up the previous archived threads to see what people used successfully.
Lancer ES 03 140k miles
-Automatic-
Transmission seemed to be a little loud on 2nd gear and when I go about 65 (no whinning sound)
Debating between a transmission fluid chnage (Already did oil)
Or just a diagnostic on the car
Had codes for EGR Glow Insufficient (Cleaned out the valve and erased the code)
Knocks Incredibly minimal on low speed
Hey /o/, am the proud owner of an '08 F250 Diesel. Perks of dpf delete? What are the first things I should upgrade on this truck, any advice is helpful. >pic related
egr is much worse.

The dpf needs to be deleted in the 6.4. When the dpf goes into regen it dumps extra fuel into the 7 and 8 cylinders which makes them get hot as. Usually it ends up causing cracks on the head around the valves.
Also, when these trucks do any sort of towing they usually spend the entire time in regen.
WHY
The Karma was arguably one of the best looking cars all around. How have they managed to go from there towards building a bland Model 3 with a body kit?
>>17356019
>Expecting a company that went bankrupt and got bought by a Chinese company to have any taste at all
>>17356019
The people who made the Karma are now a company called 'Karma' and the make a car that looks exactly like the original. Fisker is china garbage.
>>17356048
I think you've got it the other way around. Fisker relaunched as Fisker Inc. in 2016, and the Chinks bought all the Fisker knowledge in 2014 and launched Karma Automotive because they couldn't get the name, too.
Fisker Inc = Fisker relaunch = American
Karma = Fisker Karma rebadge = Chinkese
So \o\, I currently own 2 Civics and want to buy something more comfy/roomy for my bros and I. I found this...

I know you these cars get lots of shit on here, but looks bretty clean and not owned by a nog. Wot do? Fair price?

the issue I see is its automatic and rwd
the auto tragic meme gets thrown around a lot but if youre getting a car for the boys get something fwd or a jaguar if youre getting automatic, you're losing out on mpg and the fun factor if you buy an automatic rwd.

One I'm so sorry tri cities anon. Two,seems like an okay price for the shape it's in and panthers are pretty bullet proof, but the Town Car has Air suspension in the rear and when it goes out and fucks up, it's pricey.

My 2 civic are stick just seems to be in pretty good shape. Tell me the ride isnt comfy as shit in one of these.
Wanna learn everything I need to know about choosing an auto insurance policy to make the most beneficial decisions from a personal finance perspective across my life span (college grad through adult).
Bonus points if the resource teaches about health insurance too
Package policy.
I shop policies every 6 months. This keeps my prices in check.
Otherwise direct all other questions to your insurance company. Understand what you're buying. Make sure you have sufficient liability and property damage coverage. Comprehensive (usually covers things like theft, vandalism or "acts of God") is also a very good idea. So is uninsured/under insured coverage so when some sack of shit illegal smashes your car you're not fucked. Collision is only really necessary if you have a loan on the vehicle. If you own it outright just don't drive like a retard and there's no need for collision coverage.
Upcoming purchases thread, what are you buying for your car(s) in the next 2-3 months?
>Water pump
>Stainless steel brake lines
>Slotted rotors
>Brake pads
>Short shifter
>Front+rear swaybars+adjustable endlinks
A different car hopefully.

Nice OP
Had my discs and pads changed on my Hawkeye Impreza last week by a mate on his lift (I'm real lazy)
All was fine until yesterday afternoon driving home from work I heard a knocking on the offside front wheel. Sounded like CV at first but then was happening with any slight turn on the wheel at all in either direction. Had been spanking down the motorway so thought maybe I'd blown a tyre at some point.
Got out, tyre looked fine. checked disc to make sure it hadn't become warped and knocking on the back plate. Looked fine. Was only a mile from home so drove it home still had the knocking. exceptionally bad under any sort of braking. As I reversed into my garage I noticed it making no noise and it immediately clicked. Got out and could move the caliper with my hand.
Top bolt is completely missing. There seems to be no real damage, jacked it up and had a look doesn't look stripped or anything but there is no bolt anywhere.
My guy reckon's it snapped, says he torqued it up fine and it can't have just slipped off (I'm assuming if it was rusted through he would've done something about it he's not a complete moron have had him doing my cars for 7 years and never had a problem with him)
What're the chances of it snapping? Is it possible for it to have been overtorqued/corroded not obviously? It was
What are the chances of needing new calipers?
Is this a good car? Might buy one
Tell me the pros and coms
>engine ahead of the front axle
>good
I mean if you enjoy miles and miles of understeer, sure.
pro
if you are in the rust belt it will not corrode. audis have excellent rustproofing. probably the best of any car or truck.
con
its made by VAG so lots of little stuff will break when you dont expect it. it will slowly eat your savings but not as much as a car payment.
DO NOT FINANCE THIS CAR pay in cash or not at all.
