What am I looking at
an aftermarket alternator on a fwd 4 cylinder automobile.

That's an alternator
Alternator with a cooling duct directly from your ECU filter.
I'm tired of driving my autotragic shitbox. I have good equity on the car and amazing credit. I can either buy a car for around 5k-8k without financing or get a nicer car for 10k-15k+ and finance a small amount with less than 2% interest. I just want something with a manual transmission that is reliable and fun to drive. Pls no German meme mobiles that are a pain to maintain. Other than that I'm open minded to pretty much anything, like miata, mustang, corvette, hondas, etc. Don't really care, problem is I can't find ANY decent cars on my local Craigslist. What would /o/ buy from my Craigslist?
https://panamacity.craigslist.org/search/cta
also don't want a 3k civic cause they sound like dogshit.

shits all garbage that is under my budget. I want something newer.
>>17358794
Dunno if I'd daily that, seems kind of molested and has rebuilt title. Transmission already replaced at 60k miles seems sketchy too.
Is this the power of a few simple mods?

Wtf is a hose clamp doing on the leaf springs

Holding your suspension together, dingus. Tighten that shit up, it's dangerous having it loose like that.

Nocars here. Can somebody explain the benefits of a transmission like pic related?
diesels have very low end torque and power so the rpms need to be kept low for the engine to be worth a damn. I believe the highest RPM commercial industrial diesel only topped out at like 3200rpm, and that was a two stroke.
Hence normally 18 speeds in trucks and up to 36 depending on the application and if they're running an auxiliary transmission. As for that pic I'm pretty sure it was le funny me-me from the mid 70s when twin stick transmissions were being phased out in favor of a single shifter with buttons to run the ranges and split gears

>like pic related
The benefit is that it's a funny decal to put in the cab of your truck to confuse your wife and children.

The Audi R10 has its redline at 5000rpm
Yay or nay?
I'm currently looking for a
W123 since I heard they're super comfy.
I don't even own a car but I'm curious if anyone's opened up their car's computer(s) and dumped the firmware?
Could you reverse engineer the firmware and modify the way the car shifts (if it's an automatic), play with the ABS, traction control, etc? Do manufacturers take any steps against this?
Is it legal?
>what is a performance chip / flash tune
Your Automatic trans and ABS/TC both have different ECUs from the main one.

The Saab was just a random car and the Saturn wasn't during a meet
I've been looking for something fun to drive on the weekend that's fairly cheap. Was originally gonna be looking for a Miata, but they're all way north of a price I wanna pay. Not really a fan of convertibles anyway.
How's this for a cheap car? Isn't it basically an MX-6? There's a 93 Probe GT near me for 1650 with 88k on it with a 5 speed. I live in the northeast and it's stunning this thing has absolutely NOT rust on it that I can find.
pr/o/betalk here, i'll give you the skinny.
93 Probe GT
Bad:
>The dashboards always crack on them
>Good luck finding parts in a boneyard they are getting hard to find
>KL V6 makes a great noise but will drop valves with repeated fuel-cut abuse
>5-speed Mazda G25M-R transmission is made of glass
>window bushings will wear out in the tracks and not seal properly after a while
>it's totaled if you get it in a fender bender
Good
>V6 is non-interference and has gobs of bottom end torque and does well in mid and top end
>aftermarket isn't comeplete shit
>V6 sounds like a grand prix car on open headers, a Borla or Greddy
>handles like its on rails and the 93 has the best suspension for that, but you will require spine surgery if you hit a cockroach
>timeless styling
>can cross-pollinate with several different cars
>KLZE swap gives you 200hp and a better top end
I've had 2 2nd gens they are nice cars. The 4cyl is a good daily too and they are good on fuel. The V6 drinks a bit but it's fun to drive
