My wife just made me buy a dodge journey. Is it good? Can I take it to track day?
No, yes.
>>17639603
Yes and yes. You should invite the bull over to celebrate.
It was good at one point.
Then it got old and hella dated.
And yes. Have fun.
Thinking about buying an MK1 Miata as my first car. Do you think the car could be made to look less gay with 2k spent on body kits?
Really interested in removing the gay smile and the disgusting back end of it with something more classic.
>make less gay
not calling it a miata is a good start. It's known as the Roadster in Japan and MX5 in the rest of the world outside of clapistan.
>>17639522
Good idea.
I am looking online for some full body kit examples, and I am seeing some really sweet stuff.
>Mazda Miata Silk Invader Style Full Body Kit - 385-V-FK
This one kinda makes the Miata look like an FC, that's awesome. Now I need a solution for the rear. I hate the tail lights. How hard would it be to install some C5 Corvette or GT-R tail lights into a Miata?
>>17639550
>Miata?
Oopsie, I meant MX-5*
ITT: Post your state and vehicle that are impossible to find in good condition or decently priced for what they are.
Iowa here. Pic related, 90's Chevy trucks are priced like fucking gold in my state, even if they are beat to hell and back and have a lot of miles.
Arizona
Clean crxs
Spics and meth heads have ruined 99.9999999% of them and clean stock ones go for laughable money.
>>17639478
>Impossible to find in good condition
GM trucks of any generation.
>At a decent price
GM trucks of any generation.
It's rather odd as they rust out sooner than the Ford lineup. It blows me away how much more people want for a 1500 vs F150 as well.
Michigan is very biased with GM products and I don't get it.
Got this one for a grand, previous owner said it wasn't running right I could see that the spark plug wires were mismatched and didn't tell him. All i had to do was switch the #3 and #1 cylinder spark plug wires.
Why do so many retards think their car is worth 30%-50% more than market value, and why is it always BMW owners? Pic related, 325ci some boomer thinks is worth as much as a base M3.
>>17639431
It depends if it is Canadian dollars or American. If that photo is Canadian it makes the difference
>>17639444
That's still $9600 american, would you pay 10 grand for a 325ci?
>>17639467
>bmw
>ever
lol no
I was at an Audi/ VW dealership last week, and found an A3, with the 1.8L TSi, with 187hp, listed at 39K+
Why pay that kind of $$$, and get shorted on the power?
>>17639406
go buy a mustang.
>>17639427
But are they any good?
>>17639438
have a friend, and my father both own gt's, yea they're fucking awesome.
I drive a bmw with 300hp and i only paid 12k for it.
you don't have to buy a vw or audi. think for yourself.
When I run the A/C in my '06 Explorer, the engine bay fills with a weird smell, almost like paper being mildly singed. Any ideas?
>>17639298
hows that cabin air filter looking?
>>17639298
a few things to consider:
>certain components produce certain specific smells when they fail because its the fluid burning
>check your cabin filter
>certain sensors in the engine can fail and have dried out, disintegrated gaskets, and can produce odors
>heating systems on older cars can have strong smells like the one you mentioned because the brittle plastic covers would produce the smell when heated
>>17639324
Weirdly, the smell remains outside of the car. I don't think I smell it inside, but will check cabin air filter.
>$5,000 max
>Less than 60,000 miles
>Sedan
Oregano suggestions.
>>17639237
Pretty much the only think you can get at that price with those stipulations on a Kia, and at that point you should kill yourself
volvo s40
>>17639237
Just get a honda accord or civic or toyota version and you will be fine if you're looking for low maintenence cars.
I can actually afford nice things for once, I can buy a brand new STI if I wanted but would like to settle on a lighter, funner version
So what is the concensus on these little cars and what is the key difference between BRZ and the 86?
I am mainly interested in the special edition 86 but I heard the BRZ counterpart comes with better extras such as brakes
>>17639202
buy a used FR-S or a new BRZ
if you buy a brz you can go to subaru meets
ive heard the interior is nicer
>>17639296
But what is actually the difference aside from the badging?
BRZ looks much more equipped from what I can tell with additional Brembo brakes
So just spent the last few minutes looking at time attack times.
Time attack car outputs vary from 600hp to 1500hp and yet the times between this 900hp power gap are extremely close. Is there a point where power is meaningless on a circuit racer like pic related?
HP is meaningless when it can't be put to the ground
Power
to
Weight
>>17639010
You don´t need much power to be fast if you can keep your speed in the corners.
As you can see on your picture, they tend to have downforce and weight reduction autismo.
A better downforce/weight ratio allows you to corner faster.
A smaller engine weights less, so it allows your car to corner faster.
redpill me on this car please /o/, no specific year required

whats with all the r32 posters lately?
>>17638880
Remove the boost limiter on the reference line going into the manifold, make the cars actual power.
I believe this is the best looking car of 2017 and 2018. Any objections?
It looks like an even uglier version of the new beamers
>>17638569
>inb4 some 12 year old says the M3 is better
159 looked better.
Possibly the greatest looking bike of all time edition.

Hey anons, recent college grad here looking for jobs in places like Seattle, NYC, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston etc.
What's the car culture like when it comes to big cities?
NYC i imagine is almost non-existent given the cost of living and keeping a car.

>Car Culture
No thanks

If you're going to be a wagecuck commuting in a big city, either use Uber or get some disposable autotragic Elantra.
Help me. I'm way too close to snatching up a '15 Veloster Turbo with 19k miles for $14k. Practically new with a transferable warranty better than most new warranties for dirt cheap.
I'm even staying up late watching tuner videos of them supposedly making like 270+ bhp with only a tune, downpipe, intake and intercooler.
Is this Korean GTI knockoff just a meme, or a legit, much cheaper alternative to a hot hatch?
But you void your warranty if you mod it
>>17638302
Only if the dealer can prove the aftermarket part led to the failure, according to the Magnuson Moss Act.
>>17638294
You really find that pretty?
how dependable are Subaru 4 cylinder boxster engine?
Very if you maintain the gaskets
>poor fags will put it down because you have to spend $1000 after 150k miles
>>17638180
>maintain the gasket
what, just don't overheat it? Keep up on maintenance schedules?
>>17638255
Pretty much. Also if you're going to mod it to make more power, do it professionally. Subarus don't react well to dindu mods.
