Why is the kia soul considered gay?

I'm actually a fan of it for a cheap box to get groceries and shit but since TFW NO GF i'm getting shit for liking it.

Get one in hot pink and disregard opinions.

It's a hilariously soulless and boring car given the name but if you want a slow box just do it.

If you want a cool box get a first gen xB

Because its a Korean made appliance with no soul.

Think about it: all manly vehicles express a manly capability. Trucks haul heavy loads, Jeeps and and proper Suvs are supposed to climb mountains, Sports cars are supposed out run and out turn everything else, Bikes require a unique to ride properly fast and their riders are seen as brave given that they have little protection.

What does the Kia soul express when a man drives it? Blandness, the mundane tolerance of mediocrity, the indifference of the fact that it was the safe choice, the choice most likely not to kill you in a fiery high speed crash.

The Caveat is this though: Not giving a shit what others think of you is just as alpha and manly as anything above I've just written, as that is what differentiates men from women and faggots; and THIS is where you have failed the most; You do care what other people think ,you worry that you maybe perceived negatively even though those judgements upon your character have little impact on your life in a general sense.

Grow a pair of balls, DO what you want live your life the way you want, don't think twice about others, you can support yourself.

shut the fuck up.

Nobody here can tell you what you're going to pay because when it comes to insurance there are so many factors for example, your age, health history, city/town you live in, gender etc.

Now fuck off.

Am I the only one that thinks the foxbody kind of looked like a cheap econobox?
Reminds me more of an old corolla or accord than a muscle car.

Thats because they are cheap econoboxes. Have you ever driven one? Chassis/body is pretty meh-tier construction wise. They just Have a huge aftermarket and dat 5.0l
>>
The late 80s and early 90s had a lot of really generic looking coupes and sedans. You usually either like them or hate them.
>>
That was the point. They were trying to make it an econocar. With a 4 banger, turbo 4 banger as options. It was designed not to gave legendary mustang looks on purpose. Luckily there was not as many cucks back then, so customers still bought the V8 and police started buying V8s as an Interceptor since Camaros were so unreliable. The high sales convinced Ford not to turn it into a FWD shitbox like everyone else did to their good cars.

Well, I've got a '97 Lexus Ls400 that I've nicknamed "The Lexus Valdeez".

Power steering fluid leaking, lots of it. Probably never going to fix it and sell it to Mexicans for $2500, which is $1000 more than I paid for it.

I also have a 94 accord wagon that consumes about a quart of oil every 300 miles, it was leaking but that stopped, it's not going into the coolant, and it's not blowing blue smoke. But the oil is going somewhere other than the sump, I assure you.

Engines are really nice but you'll probably need timing chain guides. Cobra IRS is extra nice. Super easy to work on. Fast as hell, easy to mod. Nice transmission.

Overall car quality is horrifically bad (especially interior) and they feel like they're much larger than they are. Prone to rust in the front strut towers and around the trunk under the rear. Retards tend to mod them to cheapo parts.

I'd say go for it if it checks out inside and out. It's fast and doesn't handle quite as poorly as the SRA models.

Engines are some of the best ever put in a ford. The 4.6 DOHC is a beast and can handle whatever boost you through at it up to 1200hp. The cobra's are legends in mustang world and I'm pretty jelly desu. Don't expect much from the interior though. It's all plastic, and will break and age pretty meh.

Automakers and tech companies scale back ambitious plans

http://www.trunews.com/article/self-driving-auto-utopia-collides-with-reality

(TRUNEWS) Ford Motor Company moved a step closer to manufacturing autonomous driving vehicles, but at a slower pace than originally forecast. The Detroit automaker was granted an US patent for an automobile with a removable steering wheel, and removable brake and accelerator pedals.

The new patented design would allow Ford to remove the steering wheel from the car, and place the air bag in a compartment in front of what was previously the driver’s seat. Ford said the steering wheel will be an option for buyers in the future. The new patent is the first step in Ford’s long-range plans to build fully autonomous driving cars and trucks. Ford CEO Jim Hackett, however, told the San Francisco Chronicle’s editors that the car manufacturer is reviewing its plans to roll out autonomous vehicles. Mr. Hackett recently replaced Mark Fields as Ford’s CEO. Mr. Fields was pushing Ford to go fully autonomous by 2021. Mr. Hackett was Ford’s man in charge of the autonomous driving project. He is now undertaking a 100-day review of the company’s overall plan to introduce autonomous vehicles.

His recent comments to the San Francisco newspaper indicates he favors a cautious, step-by-step rollout of autonomous vehicles. Mr. Hackett told the newspaper’s editors: "It will be a progressive thing, just like computing. If you think about a vehicle that can drive anywhere, anytime, in any circumstance, cold, rain—that’s longer than 2021. And every manufacturer will tell you that," He also expressed doubt that autonomous vehicles will completely replace human-driven cars and trucks. Furthermore, he indicated that Ford is not convinced private ownership of vehicles will disappear in favor of shared fleets available through subscription plans.

Hmmm.

There has been a company that lets you share cars in the UK, it didn't go swimmingly.
>>
>>17764748
Software engineer here at a company that specializes in computer vision products.

It's worth noting that the problem will get easier, not harder

1. There is currently no standardized vehicle to vehicle communications protocol. When that comes, and every car is sharing their speed and bearing with every nearby car, avoid vehicle to vehicle collisions will basically be trivial, even with some vehicle not being fully autonomous.
2. Roads have been built for human eyes, not computer. In the future, signage will come in the form of barcodes, not letters/shapes that need to be detected and OCR'd.
3. Lane line detection (a major difficulty in harsh conditions) may not be necessary if lane information is encoded in local road signage (barcodes) mentioned above. You could also "free style" lanes with a robust enough communications protocol, also mentioned above.

But yeah, all of this transition will come slowly. Musk's timelines are delusional.

Humor me /o/, college has started and I'm seriously considering picking up a bike for the sole purpose of easy parking. I have morning classes but have 3 hour breaks in between and I usually leave campus to run errands or buy food and I'm sick of having to come back an hour earlier in hopes of hopefully finding someone who happens to be leaving so I can take their parking.

I have never ridden any type of bike before, am I just a lazy cunt. As it stands I'm deciding between unironically buying a miata off a friend for hooning or getting a small crotch rocket.

I can't get a car until I have enough money to move to NJ where car insurance is three times cheaper.

I can't have money until I get the well paying job I am applying for.

I thought I had a nice job lined up but the boss was shady and didn't pay me so I quit

I am having trouble finding a job.

I am looking for work everyday and only getting back untrustworthy employers

I'm getting more and more depressed everyday

I want to start my career soon but it is taking longer than I expected.

I just want a car but it's so fucking out of my reach and this is taking forever.

I can't fucking find a job and its fucking killing me.

But I'm also 21, and I'm trying to land my first career job paying good money so idk if I'm depressed over nothing because I do have some stuff going for me, more than other people.

I'm just so fucking annoyed that I can't find a job. It's fucking eating me inside. I have nothing to do everyday but look for jobs and it just isn't happening.

How do I get over this, it's killing me. I'm so unhappy. I know I'll be happier when I find a job but fuck me i want it to happen now and I don't know why the jobs I'm applying to aren't hiring me. I can't get my mind together because I'm so annoyed and I am having some good things happen to me so idk.

I just want to start working and looking toward the future but I fucking can't. When I read about cars I get depressed because I can't buy them. I look at used cars on Craigslist and I can't buy them. I have literally no other interests and I can't do it because the job thing is taking so long.

I have basically no family and no friends so I'm also lonely. My dad died this year and my best friend moved away.

I feel like I'm so close to achieving my dreams but at the same time so far away. I just needed a place to vent. I feel like I'm going irrationally crazy.

And I hate reddit because it's filled with people like me that make excuses for the position they're in. Tell me nice things please.

Take any shitty delivery job that's available that provides a vehicle for your shift. Once you have that you are set because you will be "out there". You can get chummy with the guys you deliver shit to and form a minor relationship. Once you slowly get to know these people you can ask if theyre ever hiring (preferably warehouses and specialty shops) and already know a guy on the inside who can give you the best chance at a better job.

How do you get into the back seats? Do you have to awkwardly climb? Does it have a door on the back? Do you get in through the front doors?
