when people say german cars are unreliable, what do they mean?
do they mean little annoyances and fixes for the weekend here and there, unreliable? or car breaking repairs, like "guess I'm driving the other car to work" unreliable?
of course it varies by car model, but generally speaking?

>more electronics to fuck up
>grenading hpfps
>timing chains/guides
>rod bearings
these aren't an issue on most cars.
They mean it's not an appliance like a Honda or Toyota.

As above, how do I remove this nut. It's not a security nut or any thing. If can provide me with a link to the tool that'd be great.

wow this is some jank shit like when i used to have to use chrome sockets to remove my 25RS' wheels
go to a wheel shop and have'em test fit a bunch of "regular" wheel keys and buy the one that fits.

thanks I bet the first two have a ton of underbody rust though ive checked out like 4 miatas already and they all have rust on the rocker panels and frame even when the owner didnt say in the ad
>>17771318
You want to pick it up as a second car right? you aren't DD'ing it in the winter and will keep it in your garage right?
If not then even if you buy a rust free one, itll rust once you drive it in the winter.
are bbs wheels an overpriced meme?
>>17771249
not if you think they're sexy as fuck
yes because you can find replicas that look the same for much less for most of them
>>17771257
ok but do the replicas have the same durability, precision, and performance? serious question, I know that there are standards for first world countries, but are they trackable and can they take a pothole?

Why do you guys hate on the v6 soo much? (Serious question whats wrong with it?) Its a good balance between performance and economy...
I was thinking about getting a v6 accord coupe because of the "balance" stated above. (I think the dash is ugly as fuck though. And i hate the chrome trim/handles) I dont want a average car in terms of speed and i dont want a car thats gonna fuck my wallet with the mpgs. Soo what other cars are similar to what im looking for? Or similar to the v6 accord in terms of quickness and decent mpgs? (Reguardless of engine). I want a coupe thats at least known for being somewhat reliable.
I dont want anything older than say 10 years. Budget is about 10k give or take a bit. Im not gonna be modding or tracking. Its a DD.
Also...
Im on the fence on getting a car like mentioned above... Or a truck. Midsized or larger. It will need to be somewhat reliable, decent on gas (for a truck), and able to handle towing at least a car. I dont want a really long bed, and i want back seats (2 or four door).
I know shit all about brands and their trucks. But i was looking at a colorado, a silverado, a frontier, a titan, and f150. Thoughts on those? Any other suggestions?
Whatever your suggestions... I also love to drive... To just aimlessly cruise around or hit a backroad. Its theraputic in a way. So *decent mpgs is a must (nothing lower than about 20 average for a car, and 15 average for a truck). Please give reasons for your opinons. Thanks, i love you.
>>17771027
Op here.
Another question. Why do people hate on ford trucks soo much? Whats the deal there? I have literally witnessed a mear fist fight because some guy was talking shit about another guy, because he drove a ford truck.
>>17771078
I had a Ford Ranger with the 3.0L V6 and a 5 speed. It had the short cab and short stepside box. It wasn't fast or particularly good on gas, but it was a great truck. I don't get the hate, either.
>>17771078
>>17771201
It's basically sports team mentality when it comes to domestic fanboys.
You won't see Nissan boy racers getting into fist fights with Honda ricers or Toyota commuters. Sure there will always be bantz to go around but when it's your grandpappy's honor you're defending because your entire family had their domestic car of choice picked by them back in the 50s or 60s people get genuinely shitty about things. All three brands have more cool and shit cars to even keep track of so it's not like any of them are actually better than the other.
Can anyone recommend a car with a 2 liter engine? I want a car in the same vein as a third gen prelude. I love this car but I want something newer.
>>17771026
1st gen crv cunt. now fuck off
Exactly 2.0 liters, 212 HP, can be had for the ballpark of ten grand, will absolutely blow any prelude out of the water in handling capability, actually practical and modern enough to not be a huge pain in the ass to own.
What more do you need?
I don't know a lot about car history, so I was wondering:
When the EVO and the STI were both in their golden age, or between the very best EVO and the very best STI, which reigned supreme. Not as a rally car but as an enthusiast car?
pic related minus the GTR
>>17770997
i would say that the most enthusiast oriented evo and sti were the evo 6 tommi makinen edition and the 22b sti
>>17770997
What rims are those? I see them a lot on jap cars.
>>17771070
but out of the best EVO and best STI which one was "better", or have they always been neck and neck?
What car is the best for cutting people off in traffic, specifically in a leftist urban metro area (Seattle).
Things to consider:
>agility for darting through traffic
>intimidation of others
>forgiviness / relaxedness based on bias of your car model
Ideas?
any one of these
Just take a 9mm pain killer
The more expensive the car, the more intimidating you are, but usually that corresponds with a larger frame.
Civic type R
What's /o/ think of the Toyota 4runner?
Beginner friendly vehicle? I understand the Honda Civic gets 30mpg and that I should just buy a Miata, but come on lads.
>>17770678
>Beginner friendly vehicle?
get an older one with the 22RE and you're set.
>>17770680
Was looking at a particular '99 4runner.
Just don't cry when someone steals your catalytic converter.
Will the new Z concept go back to its roots as an affordable but impressive sports car, or will it be just sort of underwhelming like the 350z was?
Judging by how dumb and boring Nissan has been for the past decade, I think it's gonna be the latter, but hopefully I'll be proven wrong.
>>17770520
They don't have that option anymore, OP.
With the level of safety shit required in cars today, you cannot make them both LIGHTWEIGHT and AFFORDABLE. You must choose. If you want lightweight, like a Miata, it's an underpowered shitbox that STILL sells for way too much money.
If you want loads of power, it's something like a Mustang which is now heavy and bloated (or if you're a homosexual, a Camaro/Challenger).
If you want lightweight, powerful, and nimble - you're buying something like a high-end sportscar. Even modern 911s are kinda fat, but they handle better than a 350z by any measure.
TL;DR It will be a disappointing exercise in futility, like everything Nissan does.
>>17770563
This.
Pretty much the only way to get a BOTH fun AND cheap you have to go with a motorcycle.
350Z lived up to its heritage perfectly what are you talking about
Z32 was the huge departure
Id say they will do fine
i'm kind of bored of my fiesta st
is it worth trading it in for a used miata nd/brz
im worried those will get boring after a bit as well
or should i wait to get good deal on 6th gen mustang gt
>>17770444
make sure you are getting more horsepower or the miata since atleast its a conertable and normies think its fast.
cars are intrinsically boring
buy a bicycle, it's green and more engaging
