Found a super clean one for 6.5k it seems like a great deal. 320 hp and an independent read suspension with a super reliable and easy to mod engine. I might buy it just for the exhaust note alone tbqh.

Engines are really nice but you'll probably need timing chain guides. Cobra IRS is extra nice. Super easy to work on. Fast as hell, easy to mod. Nice transmission.

Overall car quality is horrifically bad (especially interior) and they feel like they're much larger than they are. Prone to rust in the front strut towers and around the trunk under the rear. Retards tend to mod them to cheapo parts.

I'd say go for it if it checks out inside and out. It's fast and doesn't handle quite as poorly as the SRA models.

Engines are some of the best ever put in a ford. The 4.6 DOHC is a beast and can handle whatever boost you through at it up to 1200hp. The cobra's are legends in mustang world and I'm pretty jelly desu. Don't expect much from the interior though. It's all plastic, and will break and age pretty meh.

The Mustang never stops surprising me in how much shit I need to constantly repair despite it being one of the simplest cars of its era.

And that fucking interior. It's worse than the 1985 Caravan my family had.

The interior is pretty shit. I enjoy the idea they were going for, but waaay too much breakable plastic. For me it's not repairs as much as it is restoring. Idiots before me riced it and drove it like hell. Pic related, prior to new springs the oil pan was 1 inch off the ground. I'm surprised a bump didn't rip the motor off its mounts
I tried to get a foxbody, but this car refused to let me get rid of it.

You're better off, you have gudder brakes.

The previous owner of mine had riced the interior. Literally every single gaudy chrome trim or button that LMR sells was in there. I had to buy a ton of stock parts to make it civilized in there again.

>I tried to get a foxbody, but this car refused to let me get rid of it.

You do realize the SN95 is just an hugely improved Fox Body under the skin, right? Foxes have garbage chassis.

I grew up with my dad's foxes, so I couldn't quit shake my love for the styling.
All I'm worried about on mine is the 4.6 crapping out on me. Next summer I'll be swapping a 5.4 DOHC from a navi in it. Not to mention a total front end and steering over haul, and if I have the funds, try an IRS swap.

Only the Terminator Cobra had the independent rear suspension.
>>
>>17766781
Wrong the 99 cobra does
>>
>>17766781

All Cobras had the IRS. You're thinking of the Mach One, which was the 32v non-bootso model after the Terminator came out.

Tupperware interior, but I still love the thing.

99-04 have IRS. I'm currently living with the clunk to confirm.

>>17768033
I'm trying. I still haven't decided on poly vs delrin.
>>
>>17768131

Harder bushings aren't always better. I wouldn't put delrin bushings in a car driven on the street.

Some types of suspension can get damaged just by using poly bushings.
>>
>>17768557
Right, but for some reason with the cobras specifically all of the svtperformance posters insist that delrin is the way to go. But a few builds I've seen swear by poly. At anyrate, I'll probably just go poly
>>
>>17768683
dont go with poly unless you want a godawful squeak
>>
>>17768683

Cobras are dick measuring tools. The owners either keep them in the garage or take them to the drag strip. If they made silicon carbide bushings they'd be recommending those.

>>17768683
honestly juts ask MM and see what they say they kinda have the be all end all word on making mustangs handle

Awesome, thanks a ton. I'll be sure to ask MM. Sorry to kinda hijack the thread
