I'm thinking about hopping on the SUV bandwagon, I've been wanting one for a while now. Looking for performance, as well as ground clearance to go camping and off-roading from time to time (always so jealous of those that can hit a bump or curb and feel nothing, not to mention avoid any damage). Any suggestions? Love the look of the CX-3, but the performance is severely lacking, even a Camry is faster.

I stopped by a RadioShack that is closing down & got some stuff on clearance. I made this set up, but going online it says I need a fuse in between the power & the switch, for safety. Anybody know what fuse I could use?

A single section of 3 LEDs draws 55 mA at 12VDC. There are 60 LEDs & I use two strips.

Here's what I used:

So if I understand correctly its drawing 1.1amps/1100mAmps? Get a standard small glass-fuse holder and a 1.5 amp glass fuse
>>
>>16965671
What about voltage? Those are usually 125-250, but it's hooked up to my cigarette lighter which is 12.

>>16965647
use whatever fuse will pop before the wiring melts.

Why are suvs so popular? They are essentially a mix of a hatchback and an offroad car, but they have none of the advantages of either but all of the disadvantages of both of them. Literally pointless

I believe Ninja 300 max weight is 400lbs do I need to adjust the suspension it's currently set towards my light weight (2nd setting out of 5) and also will the passenger seat hold her fatass without snapping.

I went from 10+ years of driving a reasonably economical honda accord, which was no slouch, but not exactly any sort of fast.

Fast forward to now. Bought 335i and for the first 5 months of ownership, drove it like my accord-slow and steady. As I have learned the car better, I have started to drive more and more like an asshole, purely because the car makes it really easy, fun and rewarding to zip past whomever, and take turns at some speed. I still use my blinkers of course- I'm not a monster. I know the car isn't exactly crazy fast, but for me, it's the fastest car I've ever owned.

Has anyone else considered themselves to be a reasonable driver until you got [x] car? What car did it?

my e60 was my first car with 200+ hp so I used the speed a lot more often because muh newfound power
I didnt cut people off or do other stupid shit though
>>
>>16963445

I don't cut people off, but I tend to accelerate up to speed a lot faster. In the early times I got the car, I found myself routinely hitting close to 100 getting onto the freeway if it was deserted, as I wasn't used to how fast the car got me there.

Has anyone here ever turbo'd a small block Chevy or something similar? I've had this idea floating around in my head and I want to start doing some research. I have extensive experience when I was younger doing 3-400hp SBC builds in my old F and G body cars, but they were all NA and would have been lucky to run 12s. I also have recent experience doing big(ger) turbo builds on a modern car which uses ECU-controlled maps, diverter valve and wastegate actuator, etc. So this would be like combining the two.

Keeping cost and simplicity in mind, would it make sense to do a carbureted setup with a carb hat? Or would some cheap, early EFI setup like something out of a third gen camaro be easy enough to get working and tuned properly? I'm looking to do this cheap. I already have a nice, quick daily. I'm looking for a weekend car to potentially kill myself with on the highway. I'll be running an MBC with twin turbos with and IC or two and meth.

You're going to be hard pressed to find info my man, most of the people on here wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a Holley and an Edelbrock. If you're going to do an SBC then keep it carbed for simplicity I suppose, I don't think EFI off a turd gen would be very reliable.

Why not just turbo a sbe LS truck motor if you're looking for cheap and easy 500whp to kill yourself with? It would be a LOT easier and cheaper than a SBC for sure.
>>
>>16962498
You can do 500 WHP with an NA LS

If you twin turbo one you should be looking for closer to 800
>>
>>16962504
Twins seem like a load of work just for a fun street car though.

>You can do 500 WHP with an NA LS
but then it doesn't make choo choo noises

Post questions related to driving a manual car here.

I know most people recommend 1200-1500 rpms for taking off in first gear.

I can't seem to get that low or else it feels like imma stall.

usually I'm like more around the 2000rpm range. sometimes 3000ish becuase I can't seem to get my foot exact.

How badly am I fucking my car up by reving higher when driving it first

>>
>>16958967
Lol I've been doing 2000 rpm my entire life, but thats mainly because nearly every light around here is a hill start
>>
>>16958970
lol I think I end up going 3000 rpm when I do hillstarts just becuase I know the rule is basically to just give it more than usual.

also in first gear is it ok to hold the biting point there for a little bit. like a second or two before starting to lift up my foot. feels like it's smoother when I do it that way as opposed to bringing up my foot as one fluid motion.

I always end up bunnyhopping
>>
>>16958967
You're not fucking up anything, you'll just need a new clutch sooner.

Red pill me on buyign cars from Asians.

They usually look after their cars right?
73 posts and 14 images submitted.
>>
>>16958888
Negative. They are cheap as fuck and will only replace shit when it's broke, they never do preventative maintenance. They also usually have kids that trash their cars and when they spill shit it's fish sauce or duck head soup or something else that will be impossible to get the smell out. If a major repair is due, they will sooner trade the car in at a dealer for a new one. Even the rich Asians are like this. They are 3rd worst to buy from besides nigs and spics.

>experience related, married to an Asian
>>
>>16958888
buy asian cars, specifically japanese but not from asians. honestly the worst people to buy cars from are black people, mexicans, arabs and asians. unless of course its a good car that has been taken care of and has service reords, in that case, by all means but thats a shot in the dark in itself.
>>
>>16958996
Lol can't deny this, the asians in Australia have the most money yet are the biggest cheap asses.
