They fucked it up.
Yeah it has only 205 hp the si lol, it may compete pretty well with the GTI and focus st
>>16966711
It also looks pretty bad. The GTI looks the best in black imo.
>>16966697
Yes they did.
>1.5L turbo
WTF were they thinking?
The L-series engine has no aftermarket support.
What they SHOULD'VE done is detune the Civic Type R's 2.0L Turbo to about 250 HP. The K-series already has aftermarket support and companies wouldn't bee so leery of supporting the engine.
Aftermarket support has always been a selling point for previous SI cars.
Just came back from a holiday in USA and i have one burning question;
Why the fuck do american tradesmen drive completely impractical pick-up trucks rather than panel vans?
Why did transits, sprinters etc never catch on in america? They are superior work vehicles in every way.
>>16966519
We do...its just that for example, me...I drive a truck...and I have a 7x14 cargo trailer when I need it...
So...what's your problem with this?
Because the majority of Americans prioritize materialistic consumerism over logic and reasoning.
There is some room for debate though.
Very few manufacturers offer an AWD or 4x4 version of a cargo van. I know Benz offers it and the older Chevy vans used to have them (since discontinued)
Up until recently, engine configurations in cargo vans usually sacrificed power in favor of fuel economy - so it made sense to buy a big ass truck if you wanted to do some towing.
BUT, and this is how you can unequivocally tell if someone is a retard, manufacturers like Ford use the same frame and now even engine (Ecoboost 3.5) between their entry level RWD trucks and their transit vans.
Because they think they need 4x4 and two feet of ground clearance for some dirt roads.

But I'm not actually sure if it does
I'm not very experienced with mechanic shit and don't really have any way I feel safe testing for one.
Which is more reliable as far as modern muscles go: Mustangs, Camaros or Challengers?
And how reliable would a camaro be, specifically?
>>16964364
Pretty much all modern cars are reliable and guaranteed to last 100k+ miles as long as you stay on top of scheduled maintenance. Especially if you buy with a warranty, chances are you'll get bored with the car and upgrade to a newer model long before anything major goes wrong
>>16964379
what this guy said. 4th gen F-bodies had a lot of little issues and a rear end made of wet toilet paper. but Mustangs have been reliable for as long as I can remember and the Challenger doesn't seem to have any issues other than Hellcats occasionally blowing up with really low miles.
it seems that the big V8s are fairly over-built to hold up to abuse perhaps, or it could just be that they have relatively low compression but they can take quite a beating. I can't speak to the Camaro in particular because I'm a Mustang guy but I would imagine that if they had the slightest bit of a recurring issue, the retarded fucks on here would spew it all over the place and beat it to death so badly that you'd never be able to forget it.
i feel those turbocharged engines are going to be a huge huge pain in the ass
GM just unveiled the new Tahoe RST.

They also release a midnight z71 tahoe with wrangler duratracs. Won't be as capable but it'll be better as a DD.
No way around it, i just want to get the fastest car i can for around 7k. I have decent skills at wrenching, so anything short of swapping motor or tranny i can do.
honestly any suguestions are helpfull. Important things in this order is: Price, Speed, reliability, looks.
Current car is a 02 V6 firebird, so if i can just mod that to be faster that would be nice too.
OP here, May help to note: I live in california. Smog is a thing for me
>>16963632
Just get a sports bike.
Swap current car with a crate motor?
Grab a friend who has done swaps before if you don't feel confident. Read a shit ton of forum posts too.

Periodical Commie Car Thread
Here we discuss anything about the autovehicles of the former-eastern bloc countries.
Thinking about changing /red/ to /CCP/ or add some extra letter to make it /CCCP/ what do you think comrades?
Discuss.
>>16961201
/CCCP/ has my vote, there's nothing wrong with /red/ in my opinion tho
as for discussion, is it true that early-model Lada 21XX-series cars are better made than late-model ones, or is this just a meme?

Would prefer not to be assasinated by CIA or who ever has something against me. How old of a car do I have to buy, or what are the features I should avoid.
What kind of modern comforts can I get away with? I don't mind something old but would be nice to get something slightly newer.
Getting a manual seems like a no brainer, what else?

pre 2006?
Nothing with satellite or nav at the very least.
All of them, unless you actually believe in clickbait fake news. It's not possible for steering/brakes to be "hacked" remotely, it's on a private CAN bus on every car made. You need physical access to the car, in which case it doesn't matter how old it is, any car can be sabotaged easily.
Post your car
