Is there a difference between expensive oil and cheap oil?

They taste the same.

Clean cheap oil is going to do a better job than dirty high end oil.

I want to park my car for the summer, if I change the oil before parking it should I use cheap oil now (april) and then change it again in November with synthetic? Does it make a difference? Waste of money? I don't plan on driving it until November I'm at 5500km right now in full synthetic still golden.
