/o/ help.
I've been using 4chan for years but I never go on this board. I need advice on buying a truck. I'm planning on living on the road for a while, and I'd like to do it in a truck with a slide in camper (like pic related) I was trying to get advice from a friend who suggested buying a first generation tacoma, but after doing some research, even though those look like solid trucks, they don't seem capable of carrying one of these campers, so now I need more options. I'm hoping to buy something used for under $7k. I'd like something reliable and easy to fix, with hopefully decent gas milage.

You could get a square body F250 with the 7.3L. Those things are indestructible.

I straightened out the cable and operation from within the car seems to work now.
Thanks guys. I know it's a simple thing but fixing it made me feel good about myself.
The 302 is in, running, and running well.

kek, what did he do?
>You may only post ITT if your daily has at least 415hp
>tfw my dailies have over 700hp combined
>Only reply if your daily has 800+ ft/lbs
>daily car having 415hp
>too poor to have 2 cars 1 being an econobox to daily responsibly and 1 being your fun car
so this is basically a retarded and poor thread
I'm running low on coolant. I bought new stuff, but my car is special so it's going to take a week or two before I get it.
Can I just run on water until then, I don't have to drive much and freezing isn't a danger. It's hot though since I live in Arizona. Will it be alright for 15 mile max trips to and from work? Is there any long term permanent danger that this could create?
>car needs special coolant
>not just buying it from the dealership
You'll be fine as long as you aren't sitting in stop-and-go traffic
Coolant is cheap as fuck mate. Why can't you just buy it locally?
>>16963055
>>16963060
Because I'm autistic. I went to the local Firestone, but didn't have the right stuff. Thanks.
is drifting really fun? Like I never tried it before but is it really what its hyped up to be? Also anyone drift here?
I like AWD drifting in the snow
drifting is the most fun you can have in a car imo
>>16963040
Only done your standard "I finally got a sports car" kind of drifting, half heartedly getting it sideways around a small corner at night but that was fun. I can only imagine tracking it and doing it quicker and proper would be even more fun.
AutoZone drone here.
Guess what just happened to me!

You got raped?
>>16962718
Yes, I did!
>engine swapping
it's fun
What are you gonna do about it?
>>16962404
Once thing I've never understood about engine swapping. Why won't you just buy a better car with that engine inside? Unless it's some extreme custom build like huge VTECs in Minis I see no need for this kind of mod.
Hello fellow 18-21 year old white males! It looks like you've become a bit confused about things! Time for some friendly advice to help you along life's rich journey!
>sports coupes are status symbols
>brotrucks are status symbols
>moab 4wds are status symbols
>sportbikes are status symbols
>cafe racers are status symbols
Only problem is, you can't afford a high end status symbol! Oh no! Looks like women don't care about your 2007 mustang! Anyway, enjoy your hobby guys! Good luck out there ;)
>>16962336
but its got a cool v6 and an "automatic" transmission!
>>16962336
Cafe and sport bike are the same thing.
Are you bitter about something though?
Shut up, virgin and shove your die-cast models up your narrow urethra.
Can we have an actual non meme discussion about the gt v8 mustangs? I'm strongly considering an 02-04 mach 1 or cobra mustang, obviously manual but I don't think they come in auto anyway. Most are priced around 8-11k, is this a reasonable price? I want one because it's rwd, manual, leather seats. Only other options are German and luxury cars and fuck that shit. Anyone ever own a cobra or mach 1, or even a lower trim? Is it worth owning this car? I'm not a racer bro by any means. I just want a strong car that's comfy. It would also be my first manual
I liked my 2003 GT. It drove nice and sounded great. Decent torque, enough to put you in your seat a little bit.
Good MPG too, I got 21ish in town daily driving it.
I don't suggest the upper trims unless it's a terminator. There aren't enough differences in them to make the price jump worth the money.
exterior is nice, but the interior is disgusting.
Fun cars, also the Bullit version is alright but a bit expensive because of the rarity.
Id go mach for the hood and rims or a normal GT and customize it with the left over money.
2005-2008 GT Mustangs are in the $9-11ish range. Those would be a better deal. Newer chassis, 300hp vs 260hp.
I wouldn't pay more than $6k for a SN95 platform. By all means they are great and reliable cars. But the 4.6 2v SoHC is just a poor excuse of an engine. It's huge and heavy but doesn't have the power to back it up. The DOHC isn't really that much better, considering it needs premium gas, but it can become a horsepower monster.
Why do these two cars look identical?
Dodge and Chevy had a chief engineer employed at both plants. So they share a lot of aesthetics. But under the hood is very different: one has a Turbo V6, the other a V8.
>>16961756
>Why do these two cars look identical?
Because they're both lapped by a Genesis and v6 mustang on the track.
asuh.
So i have a 2012 Camry SE. Same color diff stock rims. I want to hook this bad boy up. But one step at a time. (New job want to save as well as upgrade car)
Its a V6. Im ok with the appearance for now and it moves well... but should i tackle performance or appearance first? and what should I upgrade first within those two categories?
stop
You should start by selling the car.
Step 1: Sell it
Step 2: Buy 86
Step 3: LS Swap
hey /o/. weird question but can you demagnetise a car? I may be purchasing a giant magnet in a bit and I wonder if I can safely put it in my vehicle without having shit be broken and the electronics be fried
Alternators always have magnets in them.
What is the maximum amount of magnetic field strength (in Teslas) that you would expect to see from this magnet?
>>16961284
it's a 60 MHz MRI so like maximum 10 T?
>>16961266
The magnet goes in the back, all the important stuff is up front, and the fuel tank is plastic.
Worst it can do is fuck with the rear brakes and suspension while it's there. And, if it's a strong enough magnet, coat the underside of your car with road debris is picks up.
The real problem is getting it away from your car. Cars are big hunks of ferrous metal. You may break the floorpan if it's stuck down too hard.
so my neighbor is a 75 year old man and he asked me to help figure out why his buick wont start
its turns over and cranks but wont fire and turn on he replaced the battery because he thought it was the battery but it isnt.
i turned the ignition on and it sounds like the fuel pump is priming fuel. any ideas you guys could point me in the right direction to help him out?
i dont know shit about american cars my experience is honda and subaru. any help is appreciated
3800 1997 buick lesabre
Drain the gas and refuel with fresh gas.
Jump start the car.
>>16960884
i dont think its a fuel problem because i initially thought it was the fuel pump.
the battery is brand new i dont need to jump start it
Check the ignition system
OG Wooly Mammoth fag here, been 2 busy with skool/work to go on 4chin the past couple of months, finally got my car interstate-worthy though
I know the prospective date was like March 24 or something, did you fags ever meet up?
W-would you still wanna?
>>16960458
I certainly never saw anything more about other than that last thread in like January. but I guess between my Mustang and my F150 I've been pretty busy with running over pedestrians and Mitsubishis.
I'd be up for it. I know some car guys in the area but none that are on here. I'm always down to stand in a parking lot and benchrace with strangers.
My car isn't ready yet but I'm game.
>>16960480
>he got the EgoBoost XD
<3
>>16960498
fuck I give up, is it a first gen S10?
It cost me $25 to get an oil change at NTB. But somehow it cost me over $40 to buy 5 quarts of oil and an oil filter.
What am I doing wrong here? I want to do it myself but it's so much cheaper to have someone else do it.
Means they're using shitty oil and filter
>>16959931
Doing it yourself is not more expensive.
>buy high quality oil for <30 bucks on sale
>buy filter for <10 bucks
>one time expense to buy ramps and a drain pan
>peace of mind that it was done right
>>16959942
But is it worth it?
