Genuine question; why the fuck do Americans need such stupidly big engines? This is not a troll or a platform for amerifat/yuropoor-ing, but let's take an example.
Here in Europe we used to get diesel Transits in 2L or 3L diesel. Americans got Econolines with 4.7 litre V8 petrols, and that's if you chose a small engine!!
Even when Ford started selling the Transit in the US, the standard engine is a 3.7L V6 petrol. WHY? We make do with a 2L diesel I4 that has more than enough heft to cart full loads and heavy trailers around, while being way more fuel efficient.
SO WTF IS GOING ON HONESTLY

>4.7 litre V8
4.6 bong bong
We're not cucked by emissions and over stressing our engines.
Gas is REALLY cheap compared to europe and we (relatively speaking) aren't taxed out the ass for "environmental" reasons

I recently got an extremely well paying job (sales) and I'm looking to buy my first sports car. I'm trying to decide between a jaguar f type or mustang gt350, used of course... what would /o/ do? I like the mustang but the jaguar seems a lot quicker, not that the stang isn't fun to drive but jaguar beats it on the track. I also like the stang because I would prefer 4 seats as it will be an everyday car. Is there some alternative to these cars I should look into? I haven't been able to find a car that gives you so much bang for you buck as far as performance goes. I'm trying to keep it under lets say 60k. Also reliability is big for me... what do you autofags think?

I took my 2011 Ford Ranger to Sears Automotive to have the oil changed.
It's at 90K, so I said they could do an overall inspection.
They recommended the following:
replace rear shocks: $160 parts + labor
replace fuel filter: $100 parts + labor
I asked if there was something wrong with the fuel filter and they said "Your at 90K, so it's time to replace it."
Also, they said the rear shocks are leaking.
Should I pay for all this?

There's this fancy thing made of paper that's known as an owner's manual. Open it and read.
https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/maintenance/maintenance-schedule.html#/ymm/2011/Ford/Ranger/74
>>17120438
Any time you take a car to any service center they're going to find things that need to be replaced. Like the leaking rear shocks, any used car on the road probably has something like that and more that needs to be replaced and the owner doesn't know. Just take it somewhere else for a general inspection and see if they find the same thing.

since you're obviously a high school dropout wrench monkey, I am gonna explain something real quick:
when you make a claim, you need to provide evidence to back up your claim. This is called "burden of proof". You are TOO STUPID to do this though, so you should just kill yourself.
Lower them a little bit and they handle better than you think. My '95 LT1 was a great truck, other than it didn't have an actual truck bed

A DeLorean.
I've been looking into buying a cheap, early 90's boosted import car and narrowed it down to these options and was looking for some input and advice.
3000GT VR4
>highest stock power output of these options
>absurd curb weight
300ZX
>good all rounder
>seems like the most difficult to do repairs on
Eclipse/Talon DSM
>probably the cheapest and most common in my area
>underpowered compared to other options
MR2
>light and quick
>snap oversteer/mid engine problems, especially before '93
Supra
>fastest car out of all of these
>also the most expensive and difficult to find
>>17119325
>I've been looking into buying a cheap, early 90's boosted import car
This was a bad decision 10 years ago. Now it is volenteering for financial ruin.
>Mfw all the good DSMs have disappeared up in Canada
Buy a DSM and build it. They can be made very fast for relatively little money.
>>17119325
MR2's snap oversteer can be fixed with suspension upgrade and installing sway/strut bars.
Don't even try with the Supras. Anything pre-Mk4 is dogshit.
