If I order a used part, and the condition is unusable when I receive it, how hard do I have to try to get them to refund or return it before I can take the place to small claims court?
Basically the scam is you buy a part with a 5 year warrantee, they send you shit and you either struggle for weeks to get them to accept a refund, then you pay a restocking fee which they pocket and they just sell the part again.
I would rather just take them to small claims court and get my money back, but Im not sure how to proceed.
Do I have a leg to stand on, or am I a whiner?
Pic is the part. 5 year warrantee, there may be "light surface rust"
No reasonable person would describe this frozen strut as usable.

>he bought used struts
Lol.
I'm thinking a recorded call where I announce it it being recorded, explanation of the circumstances will either get them to send a new one or give me an assertion on their part that this is "good" from their end?
Then any judge in small claims court would be able to decide?
Need advice

Currently looking for a car to buy.
Moving from Sweden so my budget is around 6k for a car.
What can I get for that amount? Mostly looking for coupes but thinking about a convertible, is that a smart choice? Thinking about the winter months.

German cars are a totally different ownership proposition in the States than they are here in Europe. Expensive parts, and expensive labour.
Hopefully a burger will be along shortly to recommend something dirt cheap with a massive V8 and very cheap parts

I want an R32, but should I wait until the R33 hits the 25 year mark so the price of the R32 drops? Will it really be a dramatic drop or not?
bump i guess
>>17118430
Why would the price drop if the US is able to import them... The price would go up because of demand.
>>17118430
You can buy my r32 for 6k if you want. You'll need to import it from Canada though.

Everyone here needs to understand the terrifying power potential of electric motors.
>yes, V8 sound incredible, V10s and V12s even moreso.
>yes, there's a an indescribable positive sensation of mastering a collection of explosions thrusting you forward
>yes, currently electric cars are pretty mediocre under 40 grand.
>yes, currently higher range in that price range is only held by the chevy bolt and even then, 240 miles of range isn't that great
>yes, charging infrastructure is slim to middling, especially level 3 charging which is the 30 minute charging stuff.
>yes, hardcore tesla fags are FUCKING ANNOYING AS FUCK and should be ignored. like seriously fuck those cunts that worship elon as technojesus; "hurr durr he's like tony stark hurr" fuck off.
but fuck me, once batteries get better we are going to SEE some SHIT
the zombie 222 only has 50 miles of range but it gets to 60 in 1.8 seconds (which is mind numbing, the million dollar 918 does it in 2.4) and has a current top speed of 170, nothing to sneeze at.
and it STILL has more power potential from the two motors.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAwIsKC7ROQ
the future is muscle like you never thought possible and tire smoke like it's nothing and I'm alright with this.
also in those videos the 0-60 time is 2.4 seconds but that was a while ago, the car's still being dialed in and tweaked and keeps getting faster because of it.
imagine if this bitch was awd with racing slicks, yikes

I did a few equations calculating the efficiency of modern electric motors the other day on a similar thread. Right now there is a long way to go before electric takes over. But it will happen.
>>17121237
in terms of most normies, "enough" range is like 200+ miles, and tesla has big brand recognition.
once they make that mini crossover based on the model 3 i'm pretty sure the S curve will hit vertical and errybody will make competitors to that.
Have you ever had any near death experiences on the road? I'll share my most recent one
>driving to pick mum up from a wine party at her friend's
>it's already getting dark
>on the way home i forget to exit the motorway in time
>have to exit next chance i get
>end up on some unfamiliar forest road
>it's so dark
>absolutely NO lights anywhere but my own
>stop at an intersection at some point
>make sure it's safe to go and i drive straight ahead
>see two bright white lights right in front of me
>"wait wh-"
>tires screeching
>i stop
>face to face with another car
>sudden adrenaline rush and i put on reverse and back up fucking all the way back to the intersection
>get to the centre of the crossroads
>see pic related in front of me
>face red, i take the road on the right which i didn't see before
>want to speed as fast as i can to get away from there
>get home
>pour myself a glass of water, hands shaking
>write greentext story about it on /o/ to cope
>>17119371
I've never had any and I frequently drive 30mph over the speed limit at night on the way home from college. Just gotta know what's safe and what isn't.
Short one:
>Left Amsterdam 2 or 3 hours ago in my 800kg shitbox
>23:30 or something
>Two friends and two carpoolers in car
>Going 130km/h on highway, left lane, relatively close to the guardrail
>Pass truck who's driving on the very edge of his lane, close to mine
>Air displacement push me to the left, even closer to guardrail
>Can feel the hubcap touching the guardrail
>Have a microsecond of panic attack, accelerate and swerve a little bit to the right
>Nervously look around
>Everyone asleep
That was fucking close.
>right turnoff in pic related
>exit lane starts earlier and becomes right turnoff lane
>left turnoff lane starts immediately
>slower BMW (yellow) in exit lane, figure I (blue) can cruise by him him still on the old highway and then take the left turnoff lane
>right as the turnoff starts the BMW suddenly changes into the left turnoff lane without indicating for no reason
>can barely evade him and rip the car around without hitting the median and getting launched into the air either by a guardrail or by a small hill
Literally could've ended that day in a casket because of a BMW changing lanes in a turnoff section for no reason without indicating.

What's going to happen to the classic car market when boomers start to pass away and hand down their sports cars?
>>17128112
prices will dip a little, but the desirable models like a 69 mustang fastback or second gen charger will always command a premium.
very few original model b owners are still around, yet those are still hugely sought after.
They are going to be sold for scrap price because NO ONE except boomers knows that they are rare and desirable.... not
Daily reminder that Gen x fags are responsible for the inflated costs in muscle since the mid 00s
What's a real steel 32 Ford going for nowadays?
There's your answer.
What are the absolute best options for manual cars you can abuse the shit out of that won't break down or die that aren't boring to drive? I'm talking redlines, tire squeaking turns, handbrake stops, all that shit. A civic comes to mind but what are other options?
A Suzuki with some overnight parts from Japan.

Get a miats man
tire squeaks and mini skids everywhere
I just bought a cheap 1994 Mustang V6 for only $450. Seller sold it cheap because the engine was shaking bad and needed a new battery, seller said it needed a new harmonic balancer and motor mounts because the engine was shaking bad. So I got a new battery and drove it 20 miles home. For the first 15 miles on the freeway it ran without any check engine light and while it was still shaking, it wasn't enough to affect driving too badly. But after 15 miles the check engine light suddenly came on but I was still able to get it back home.
Well when I hooked up the OBD scanner it turned out cylinder 2 wasn't firing at all. Turns out the ignition coil pack was fucked and wasn't getting any spark at all to the spark plug at cylinder 2! So I got a new ignition coil pack and now the car is running a lot smoother.
Here's what I don't get though - how the hell did it run for 15 miles with only 5 cylinders instead of 6 without giving me a check engine light? The CEL only popped up while I was going 60 on the freeway and I didn't notice any changes. And should I be worried it ran that far with one cylinder not firing? What else should I do to make sure this car won't break down?
>>17127285
My dad went whole season on his boat with brand new mercruiser working on 6 cylinders because he fucked up coil placement. Next season he put them where they should have been and it worked like a charm.
i had this exact problem with my 04
ran like a champ for the rest of time i had it
car also came with 3 different tires
>>17127285
If the car does not have knock sensors odds are it won't pick up a misfire until a while after when the post cat O2 sensors get consistent bad readings.
