Yet somehow I am the cancer that is killing /o/
accessory tube thingy. The battery is a Deka Gold. I've never needed a venting accessory before, and I didn't know it had this accessory until after I bought it and brought it home. Is there anything I need to know? Will I actually need that venting thing for this kind of battery? I just wanted to install the battery like I've done before and be done with it... this has me a little annoyed.
my bad, the beginning of the post got cut off, but what I was saying is that I bought a new car battery and it came with some venting tube thing.

So, I'm starting work this week for an American company that manufactures heavy industrial equipment. I'll be starting up a satellite office and doing many things, primarily meeting clients.
Long story short, I need an American luxury sedan. Can't go with German or even European, really since we're 'murricans and I really don't need the headaches of promoting American equipment and then hopping into a German car.
What do? I've been browsing CL and pretty much pic related. Is there anything interesting in American luxury?
Cadillac and Lincoln are where you wanna stay if you're looking for American "luxury".
>>17126197
Why does your company care what you drive? Sounds gommie and unfree
Cadillac and Lincoln
What's your budget? You can get a Cadillac ATS or a Lincoln MKZ for under 20 with medium milage
The mkz is a good car but shares too much with he fusion (buttons etc) thankfully it's going to be discontinued
Cadillac ATS is a great car, interior is somewhat geriatric but the car is as good as a 3 series

Anyone remember that happening? Well today in Downtown Portland there's another protest about new immigration laws and I see a great window of opportunity to make comeback for /o/. However I don't have a zippy little Miata to drift in, no I have a 1989 Chevy Silverado 2500 longbed, extended cab that weighs 3/4 ton but none of that is going to stop me. My final words are to look for this truck and wish me luck.
DO YOUR BEST BRAVE OP!
Remember, don't fuck up.
include me in screenshot if this goes viral.

Can someone red pill me on the infamous Ford 7.3? Is it just popular because of its massive displacement and muh diesel, or are there actual tangible characteristics that make it a good engine?
>>17123926
I have a 7.3 Treat it right and she'll treat you right
I had one for a month when my cousin moved to DR. It was the greatest thing for an 18 year old who just got his license. It was the 5 speed to so that just made it better. Beat the shit out of it, my uncle took it, sold it and it blew up the day after. Craigslist dude tried to get his money back but that wasn't happening. I wish I could get another. Plenty of power and fun. That's about as far as my experience goes.
>>17123926
Its a damn good engine. About the only thing wrong with it is everything else Ford puts in an F-series pick up. As long as you keep it oiled. That truck will never fail you. I have been driving an F250 as my daily since 2014 and the only thing I regret is 12.8 MPG lmao. Fucking hell are they distinct sounding. Apparently Ford still makes the engine but just doesn't put it in trucks. I wonder if you could fit one in a 2017 250...
>window washer pandhandlers
That'll be $4.99+tip pls.
Anyone else have to deal with these fucks? Middle schoolers always pull this shit around the area I work and it's annoying as fuck.
lol haven't seen one of those in decades

What car is this?
It's concept art by Simon Stålenhag. I've read that he uses 1970's cars in his art, mainly from swedish and german manufacturers.
I've been looking for ages but nothing looks quite like this car, especially the rear lights which don't extend over the side of the car unlike all the cars I seem to find.
Buick Regal?
>>17129041
Thanks, looks very similar but the rear lights and the side mirrors don't really match. Could be that the artist kinda made his own version ofcourse
>I've read that he uses 1970's cars in his art, mainly from swedish and german manufacturers.
He does, but that's for the European art. He does a lot of pieces set in the 'states, too, often starring various large land yachts as the centerpiece- Caprice and Crown Victoria police cruisers, wood-paneled family wagons, Lincoln and Chrysler road-warrior carryalls, etc- along with various other period cars (90's at the absolute newest) and usually they're instantly recognizable. It's throwing me for a loop that I can't figure out what this is, my first thought was a box body Panther but the tail end doesn't quite match the CV or Marquis and the Town Car is totally different. Next thought was a G-body like >>17129041 said but again, the lights are wrong for every marque's version.
This is bothering the hell out of me. Anyone really knowledgeable about malaise-era shitboxes?

Can anyone tell me what car this is?
>>17128955
wild guess but maybe a brand new Kia?
Here's some of the front panel in the glasses. Looks like a built-in GPS. If you look at the radio it looks like a stock, I'm thinking Volkswagen
what do you think of my car?

Looking for a decent car and kinda lost on what to get. I've found these two, and I'm curious if they are a good deal.

The SS Turbo is much better than the SS Super. Fast, handles well, but it's a Cobalt.
It will turn off because lolignition switch and kill you
>>17128741
Highly underrated and can make good, reliable power in both super and turbo charged forms. Turbo cars also received better suspension, usually had the LSD and better brakes

Who else fell for the manual meme?
>>17128858
inb4 luddites accuse you of not being a """"""""real enthusiast"""""""
It's only fun if you live in a place where there is little to no traffic and plenty of curvy roads.
>>17128858
>>A few months later it's an absolute pain in the ass that ruins the driving experience
What about it don't you like? Or is is just the inconvenience of it compared to an auto?
I have only ever driven manual cars so just do it without thinking about it, whereas when I borrow an automatic I have to concentrate on not moving my left foot and keeping my hand off the gearstick
>I want to share my advice for improving sound in medium sized cars, and have a discussion about car audio in general.
>I bought an '05 subaru legacy gt with a "$6,000" sound system put together by an audio shop in Maryland.
The morel speaker +crossover package retains the stock mounts for the front tweeters+speakers, as well as the rear speakers, while the trunk has been built around 2x12" JL sub box with 2 fiberglass enclosures for the cabin and sub amps.
Firstly I want to stress that no matter what kind of setup you have (even stock) that adding sound deadening material to the doors themselves and fixing rattles in the interior will make a huge difference in the way the car sounds.
That being said, every car is different. And you will have to learn how to assemble everything correctly unless you can afford to pay $80+hr for someone else to do it.
/o/ isn't a good place to have discussions about car audio because they can't afford to drop 3-5 grand on a decent setup. Busriders just always use these threads to shitpost.

Hey /o/
Was driving my 1983 Toyota Corona yesterday and ran out of gas, about 20 metres from my house. I refuelled her with some fresh petrol, but to no avail, she wouldn't start. I assumed it wasn't a problem with the pump, seeing as it's mechanical.
I checked fuel lines, carb, and nothing seems to be blocked. I pulled out the fuel filter and saw that the inlet was a bit snapped, surely this couldn't cause it not to start though, right?
Any tips to get it going again?
>>17126368
>cracked fuel filter inlet
>>17126373
Check if fuel arrives at the carburetor.
I would change that filter either way; you don't want fuel spraying everywhere if it ends up breaking.
>>17126406
Nope I can't hear it squirting! :(
