How did you guys learn to repair and upgrade cars?
I've been meaning to acquire the knowledge where I could service, repair and upgrade my own car. I have a basic knowledge of how cars work, and could probably do basic shit like change the air filter or oil.
Is there a course, book, series or anything among those lines that I can do? Or just buy a fixer upper and work on it?

Scotty Kilmer. Then if you need to replace a part on your car search it up on YouTube.
>>17125470
Just dig in you stupid cunt, just unscrew your radiator hose clamps and go driving and you'll have a project car.
>>17125470
Im no master mechanic, nut gor what its worth:
Buy a shitty car, and just go at it. You will never tear into an expensive machine until youre confident in your abilities, and you only really learn these things by watching and doing. If you dont have someone to watch, you just have to go for it.
Shop manuals are good, youtube is helpful at times, but nothing teaches you more about a system in your car than messing up a job, and getting it right the second time. Just start small and dont do engine/trans work until youre comfortable with the basics of using your tools.
Good luck anon, maintaining and repairing a car can be very rewarding. Stick too it!

As it gets a bit dirty it becomes fairly low key, unless you keep your bike absolutely immaculate. I think it can work on your bike.
>+1t front
I think the acceleration will remain mostly okay, but given the not-so-torqey ways of the old Hondas it might become very annoying at low revs. My F3 doesn't like to accelerate much at 5k revs @ 6th gears even with +2T in the rear. Would only do it if you spend absolutely all your time on highways. The default gearing is fairly long anon.

How poor are we talking anon? Bad pavement I'd definitely still go for sport touring stuff. Like PR2s and so on. Would only get off road stuff if you know, you actually went offroad.
>>17125430
Yes, that's me.
>>17125440
Anon every time I see your posts I get so confused and amazed I sincerely don't know what to reply. I'd stick with something like Pirelli Scorpions, no point getting offroad stuff for a MT-07
i want to import either an sw20 mr2 or an na miata

Maybe he just wants the RHD exclusive JDM feel.
Best tires for in city driving? freeways %70 of the time and small roads the rest?
I drive a pretty fast car but only squeeze it out every now and then on the freeway, what is the best type of tire or brand of tire to have put on my car just driving it around town with the occasional corner being taken kind of fast or speeds around 100 on the freeway?

Dear eur/o/s, im looking to buy my first car, is the us advice chart applicable to the EU? I know jack shit about cars. Im looking for something which gets me from A to B, reliably and preferably as comfortably as i can get for sub 5k euros. What are my options, where should i look first?
no
get something used and asian sounding
not korean tho
>>17125119
I don't think that sticky works well for EU as it ignores all euro cars cos US only gets the expensive and unreliable of those
>>17125186
well that was my line of thought too... I was looking at some Skoda Octavias but i have no idea how well they measure up to the rest...

People buying old luxury cars and pretending they're high-class is gay.
>>17125100
>should I ?
faggots like you still don't realize that you have to pay PREMIUM for parts and maintenance.
paying for the car itself is the smallest problem of it all.
that's why those cars go through dozens of hands after the first or second owner.
faggots will never get this.
>>17125108

I like doing my own maintenance on my car. it saves on repair costs and I find it overall satisfying.
With that in mind, What would be considered a car that is easy to work on and do my own maintenance on? I'm in the market for a used car.
pic related: don't want rotary.
but triangles are piss easy to maintain though, especially naturally aspirated ones
>>17124779
That might be true, but I'm also hoping for decent fuel economy and don't want to have to add a quart of oil in everyday before going to work.
