What makes a death machine a competition pistol???
Sup /k/, I'm picking up a K98k this week. It's a post war BRNO example in excellent condition. Great bluing, nice wood, near perfect bore. Yesterday, while going through the pictures again, I saw that the bolt body is missing the guide rib, like a late war Kriegsmodell bolt. I read up that this is common for these post war BRNO K98s.
Does the lack of guide have any impact on feel or stability? I checked on my M48 and it doesn't seem to do much desu. Pic related is a comparison of early and late model bolts.

>Does the lack of guide have any impact on feel or stability?
A little bit, but it's nothing to worry about.
>>35007699
So it's no big deal then? I'm relieved. I mean I'll handle and inspect it before buying but I wanted some clarification. Thanks!

The rib is just there to provide a little more surface area contact between receiver and bolt. It's better to have the rib than not, but it's lack just means that operation of the action will not feel as smooth as one that does have the rib. If the bolt body is matching the receiver I wouldn't worry about it.
Hi /k/
Do you guys have some infographics, or articles about tactics, spacing and configurations
of troops in dense crowd? In situations like vip protection, tailing, or fast "low profile" movement?
I would be really thankful.
I too am interested.

also use turtle formation
always
found only infantry formations... nothing about agents in crowd.
What did moot want to know about guns? I've seen from a lot of early posts about moot wanting to know about glocks in some form.

Glock is to this generation as a .38 revolver was to those of yesteryear.
"I don't know much about guns but after this recent habbening I want protection. What should I get?"
"Thou shalt buy a Glock 19. Go forth and practice."
You have to fight for one country during WW1 & WW2
If it was based entirely on equipment, which side would you fight for and why.
>>35007271
I honestly kind of want to say italy but we all know how that turns out.
>Those beretta 1918s
>dem kennedy killers
>>35007271
That's not a K98. Anyway, I'd choose the Brits during WW1 and probably the Americans in WWII. Fuck the Krauts.

Become a famous actor. Workout. Play in action movies. Play badass guy who has to rescue US president. Mike Banning mode achieved.
Has anyone ever made one of these? IMHO they look very easy almost too easy to make, like I should report them to the ATF/DOJ easy. Can anyone here give me an example on how easy it is to make? There's almost no skill involved and it can be made with a simple Dremel.
>>35007063
ive never made one but theres this jagoff on the internet who says its really easy to make.
>>35007063
he sounds like a fucking douchebag though
>>35007063
I made the full size frame with a gen 3 17 slide, fucked up the first blank trying to drill and Dremel, bought a drill press and it makes it 900 times easier be careful on the rear slide rails and everything else is easy as cake.

>made one of these
you mean a pistol?
cause it's legal as fuck to do that in non-cucked parts of the US
or do you mean some part that makes it full retard or something?
So tomorrow me and 3 combat vets will embark for Houston from Austin we will have to enter the city via the brazos river on the outskirts of the city. I have loads of supplies to help people in need and we will be navigating the water ways in Houston to get down to Galveston county where i have more resources (boats firearms supplies etc.) However any /k/ommandos currently in Houston? I heard some awful shit about groids running amok there. I am currently only amred with a tokarov the other members in my party have long guns and a shotgun. So i am going to have to sail through heavily groid infested areas where they have been shooting at rescuers. Anyone else heading out to help with relief efforts? I will post pics and keep this thread going if y'all are interested!

I'm in Sugar Land and I got spared; it didn't even flood the streets where I am. All I'm doing is donating a few things and volunteering at the local relief shelter.

Welcome to /k/. You'll fit right in.
Having trouble finding the "standard issue" infantry musket/rifle for US forces. From what I find the Springfield 1842 is one of the more commonly cited ones, but I don't know if it was standard. The Mexicans used an Indian pattern Brown Bess.
Also looking for the types of sabers and melee used by both sides.
General discussion of the war is welcome.
find the caliber of round the Springfield fired then look up muskets of that era that used the same. most likely will find that US used multiple rifles since they never really had a large standing army and when war broke out they needed to scramble for firearms.
>>35006804
I often hear .69 was used in the war, which is what the Springfield 1842 was chambered in.
Just confusing since most of those sources claim "flintlock" despite the 1842 being percussion.

Dug a bit more, 1816 musket is what it was.

I own two ferrets. This gun is called the Ferret rifle chambered in .50 BMG.
That's the reason.
>>35006433
I bought one box of 7.62 because it was on sale. After that I bought another box. And then 20 more. I still don't own a rifle chambered in 7.62
I own a drop down thigh holster and a CC Holster and do not own a pistol
Because I like sci-fi
