How much are the bastards going to price gauge when Ryzen is released on March 3rd? Assuming its not another piledriver and actually works. They will mostly like sellout in hours. Its bullshit they will be gouged for months and not to mention the overpriced mobos.
it's AMD, why would you buy it anyway?
the only reason the company still exists is because people assume intel makes everything.
>>58806649
Because Intel supports Feminist Frequency.
>>58806452
They can't really charge significantly lower than Intel because Intel will just respond in kind and have deeper pockets. It's not going to outperform Intel's equivalent SKU so it won't be more expensive. It will be a little bit cheaper than the Intel offering and you won't be able to buy it because no stock.
Don't get your panties in a bunch.

Archlinux won.

So I have an interesting question we discussed with my friend. Maybe somebody can explain me this detaily.
As you know, Ubuntu has fixed releases and every packages (including ppas) are built for specific version separately. Why? Does is mean that different releases may have different library APIs/ABIs and maintainers should build their packages for different releases?
But Arch is rolling release and libraries are updating constantly. In this case maintainers should watch at libraries and toolkits updates and update their packages more carefully and timely. So maintaining AUR packages is more complex because automatic tools such as yaourt can't rebuild dependent packages if package version wasn't changed. This makes using Arch much harder both for users and maintainers.
Can somebody explain me this?
is MX Linux good distro ?
>>58806187
Provide more details, you failed shill.
No
>>58806187
Of course not. Slackware is the only good distro.
Why is linux so crappy for anything professional?
>fresh ubuntu installl
>try to record audio, even the most basic shit like Audacity
>Line in crackles like crazy, sounds distorted etc
> same thing happens if I use the mic port
> Boot into windows
> everything werks fine
same exact issue happened on arch btw
...not really asking for tech support, more so confused as to how anyone ever gets anything done using Linux?

I produce amateur video game music with Linux. Works for me.
Which DAW should I buy for under $400? I want to compose and produce digital music.
>>58806050
All of those have a trial edition.
Try them and see which one you like most before throwing 400$ out the window.
>>58806065
All of them have a steep learning curve, to a beginner they all pretty much look the same. I'm not sure which one will annoy me the least.
>>58806135
If you're a beginner there's even less of a use buying any of them honestly.
The one that will annoy you the least is Fruity Loops, fuck around with it for a while and as soon as you start getting shit done in it, you can buy it or try Ableton, Cubase or whatever floats your boat.
Chances are youre going to get frustrated within a week or so and stop trying to learn it, so save yourself the money and just try it out for a while.

And it was clearly a mistake so they fixed it in future releases lmao
You can't buy it anymore and none of the follow-ups followed that trend for a reason.

Post your component list, rate other anons', and ask questions in general.
Always state the purpose of your PC, your budget, AND YOUR COUNTRY if outside the USA.
If you are asking for improvements, clarify whether you want to lower price or to improve specs or build quality.
Assemble your parts list; built-in price comparisons by vendor and a compatibility filter.

soup /g/, I need your help. I have a server running on localhost, and want it to be accessible from the internet, not just the LAN. Do I just need to open a port on the router?
Also, if it is static(bootstrap, no input fields), do I have any security vulnerabilities?
Yes.
>>58805810
Yes, open a port, or yes, there are security vulnerabilities?
>>58805821
Yes
What does /g/ think of Scala?
I started learning it recently. The syntax reminds me of Java, Haskell, and JavaScript. However the strict typing and breadth of things you can do remind me of C++.

What's the best website to host webms? Open source only please.
>Open source only please
Are you looking for a website or a web server software to run on your own machine? If the former, it being "open source" doesn't make any difference. If the latter, mediagoblin.
>>58806339
A website that could host them for playback purposes.
>>58806500
It doesn't matter if it's "open source" if you're going to be using someone else's computer to host it anyway. You won't be able to patch in changes or be sure that it's doing exactly what it says it is, so why is that a factor?
