Looks alright to me. I'd say it's maybe the nicest looking (as default) DE bar maybe KDE.

What is the best linux distro for home use and why is it Arch?
Thought that was Slackware.
>>58808131
It's arch for sure. Rolling release is cool and the aur makes installing pretty much anything easy mode.
That said, arch is dropping x86 support soon. What should I install in my old machine?
Was thinking about fedora, debian or maybe void.
>>58808131
>arch is dropping x86 support
Personally when I can't use Arch then I go with a Debian net install.
How is it possible that a 6th gen i7 performs significantly better on benchmarks than a 1st gen i7 when the clock speed and cache size haven't changed?
>>58808121
Why is it that a 3.6 Liter V6 in the CT6 produces 330HP and gets 21 Combined, and the 2004 CTS with a 3.6 Liter V6 gets 19 combined, all the while the CT6 being larger and more powerful. The reason being is optimizations. You can always perfect something.

Because they're fucking outdated?
Hi /g/ this is /v/ here.
What do you guys think about kaby lake and full 10 series GPUs on laptops? What general opinion of MSI laptops? I never had one but I want to buy MSI GT72VR 7RE
>cheaper
>no useless fucking number pad which makes the keyboard uncentered
>better engineered with magnesium frames and aluminum instead of cheap plastic
>4 hours gaming battery life and 8 hours of normal use
>better support
>doesn't make you look like a retard in the office, however you can go as full retard as you want with AlienFX®
Why even get any other gaming laptop when this exists?

hah, laptops fucking suck.
I think MSi just shits out crappy 'gaming laptops' with a GTX 10 series GPUs.
I'm trying to find a gayming laptop for deployment, probably go with the alienware 15 or the 13.
Is it true that dial-up is still big in the US?

Not here, and I live in the Detroit area.
It's extremely rare, but it technically still exists.
Hey /g/
I want to learn some basic stuff about programming microcontrollers and basic ee and programming stuff with GPIO.
I have Raspberrypi B+ right now and I am using ds18b20 to check temperature on boiler that is in basement, I was planning also to set srvo to control amount of air but its not going to happen any time soon.
I have free month and I decided that it would be a good time to learn some basic shit.
I am going to buy breadboard + wires + 2x8 lcdscreen, few buttons, digital barometer.
I also have few mini motors MT78 1.2V.
Now are there any more advenced project for new friend that you could advise me to build?
I was thinking about building simple drone, but after small research it turned out that I would have to invest at least 200-300$ and I am out of money atm.
bumperino
bumping for you anon, I don't deal with arduinos and shit but it's pretty interesting
grab an arduino uno, using the IDE is pretty straightforward and you can pop the microcontroller out so you don't need to use the whole arduino for a project. Once you've programmed it you can wire it into your project and buy another chip.
It's a pretty decent solution. I'm no expert but I believe if you want to program one naked it's a much bigger deal than just wiring the legs up to your pi.

How did the Russians become so good at hacking?
>>58807776
Probably got some good tips from Snowden
By not outsourcing everything to india and prioritising domestic prospects.
The russians are as good as hacking as they ever were.
Instead wonder why modern code is so vulnerable and full of holes

Why does privacy matter that much? They know what I shpo fro and maybe that I watch weird porn? So what? What are they going to do with my information? not much I don't think. I'm only a grain of sand upon thousands of normies. Why does it matter that they might have some useless information on me? Even if it's on where I live and what I do all of the time, looking at me through my un-taped laptop webcam, I don't see any real harm. What's the big deal?
