How is this place still open? I'm convinced it's a drug front and money/sex trafficking and no one has noticed.
they're competing against Amazon of all services. they're as grey uncaring as a corporation can be, rivaled only by walmart. they sending out constant emails if you give them one to crap you dont want from a google searchyou once did for fun (it can also send you emails about products your friend told you about over lunch. there is a mic in your phone...)

>I'm convinced it's a drug front and money/sex trafficking and no one has noticed
Sounds like an overstatement.
It's a marketplace, a lot like Amazon. All the independent sellers may be gone, but established sellers who either started early on and invested in scaling or traditional retailers who see it as a venue to dump their second-tier wares with less margin are probably enough business to keep them around for another 10+ years.
Also, the occasional seller who only uses it to sell their (rather her) used shoes or last gen's iPhone.
their money handling is on par with paypal. you should probably consider 95% of the pictures for a product not being accurate in major ways, if not a different item entirely.

Fedora 25, using chsh to change shells, I keep changing the shell with chsh -s /usr/bin/fish, but every time I restart the terminal it defaults back to /bin/bash.
I've looked everywhere and can't figure out what to modify to permanently change the default. Anyone able to help?

OP here. Found the answer as soon as I posted >< just added 'fish' to the end of my .bashrc, and it seems to work just fine

>Gentoo Linux developer Hanno Böck, who also writes for Golem and runs The Fuzzing Project as a software fuzzing initiative to find issues in software, presented today at FOSDEM 2017 over some Linux desktop security shortcomings and how Microsoft Windows 10 is arguably more secure out-of-the-box.
>Böck's presentation was motivated by recent posts on Chris Evans' security blog pertaining to how a Super Nintendo Emulator could exploit a modern Linux desktop. Check out that blog for a lot of interesting technical details on the exploit.
>Hanno Böck's presentation pointed out issues with GNOME's Tracker and KDE's Baloo auto-indexing files, including fresh downloads to computers. While Tracker has already implemented sandboxing via libseccomp, KDE/Baloo doesn't yet sandbox their file indexing work.
>Böck also criticizes Linux distributions for not generally making full use of Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) yet with it being "one of the strongest exploit mitigation techniques." Ubuntu had introduced support in 16.10, Fedora has offered ASLR / posiition-independent executables since Fedora 23, Debian is picking up support in Stretch, there isn't much work in the openSUSE space, and only hardened Gentoo enables these security features. Windows meanwhile had ASLR support in Vista and that modern Windows desktops already use "next-level mitigations" for fending off attack vectors on the desktop.

>Gentoo developer showcases how the linux desktop is pretty insecure;
>Shows how the most trustworthy distros that have started working on these issues are Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora, while suse, gentoo and arch are exploitable as fuck, unlike Windows, which has had this shit taken care of since VISTA;
>Also, gstreamer is an insecure POS, and indexing coding is garbage, again, UNLIKE WINDOWS;

Just in case there is any doubt left of big of a fucking KEK Linus is.
>>58811557
Linus is clearly a gay man. That is fine of course. I think people would probably be more accepting of him and his antics because for a full on gay man he is really reserved in his sexuality. While presenting as a straight man it all just seems very disturbing.
My real concern is for Luke. Does he know Linus has webcams set up in the office bathroom?

>spend month writing software sacrificing all my leisure

why would anyone open source anything unless they were being sponsored to do it? You have to be a tool to believe it benefits you or anyone but the people who exploit source code and use it to profit.
Pretty sure that depends on the type of license you use for it

They can't, with a decent license.
Also, you can ask for donations, and the project would be good to show on CV.
