Why does iPhone 7+ cost 2x of OnePlus 3T But has 2x worse specs? Yet its the most owned phone?

Are there really that many retards out there?

In defense of the iPhone, it has very smooth performance

The 3T has much better value and the camera is still very good, however

normies still get cucked like the good shills they are however

Why do people continue to buy products and use services from companies who publish their software under restrictive, nonfree licenses? We have to convice the normies of the dangers of proprietary software before it's too late.

Why do you care? Do you pay for their software license?
>>
>>58802745
There is literally nothing wrong with using proprietary software. You are never going to edit the program anyways.

I've always preferred PCs for games and work and for many other reasons I'm sure you have heard a million times before. However; its the year twenty-seventeen! Surly the science making powerful portable computers has been perfected, right?

This is what I thought 5 hours ago when I started looking for my potential first laptop. I thought it would be simple and easy to get a sleek laptop that was as powerful, if not, better than my 3 year old desktop. While laptops are smaller and faster than ever before, they all seem to have these caveats that make it impossible to decide on one over the other. And when the prices can be anywhere between 1500 - 3000 for a strong laptop, these issues can't be justified.

This one is powerful but its ugly as sin. This one is beautiful but its got terrible cooling. This one has a color accurate screen but its flimsy and poorly constructed. This one checks all the boxes but has useless extra features that show in it's price. They all seem to have some nagging issue to spoil the whole thing.

Its to the point where I'm starting to get mad at the engineers designing these things! I know they have a tricky puzzle of a job getting these parts to fit nicely into a little laptop package but jeepers! I'm hard pressed to find a laptop I can look at and say "man, what a smart looking piece of hardware."

If you are on a laptop right now, you clearly did what I could not and found something you were happy to pay for. My question is, what the heck magical miracle laptop did you get and why?

Thread for C appreciation and programming.
I will start with an exercise from KandRC. Exercise 1-13.
#include<stdio.h>

main(){
int c, length;
length = 0;

while( (c = getchar()) != EOF){
if( c == ' ' || c == '\t' || c == '\n'){
/* found one word */
while( --length >= 0)
putchar('-');
putchar('\n');
length = 0;
}
else{
/* inside word */
putchar(c);
++length;
}
}
}

Is there a limit of secure erases an SSD can take?

I usually do it every time I try a new OS

Do you fucking idiots have to plaster every piece of software (or hardware) with these stupid anime images? Are you 12? Grow the fuck up man
>>
>>58802170
Very much depends on the endurance of your drive. Securely erasing your drive basically counts as a rewrite of the entire drive. On some of your cheaper SSDs you could wear out the drives NAND quite easily. On some of your more expensive ones like Samsung they can take petabytes of rewrites until they fail. BTW any reason for security erasing the drive for every OS install?
>>
>>58802238
Not really, just my OCD acting up I think, I've heard that TRIM should be enough and it's only adviced to secure erase if working on TRIMless enviroments for long periods of time, but I don't really know how TRIM actually works, so that's why I just secure erase.

I remember back in the limewire days everything was riddled with so many viruses I paid good money for access to a warez ftp site that had all the pirated shit without viruses and quick speeds. Will this meme make a comeback? Or is it impossible to keep up because interpol?
