Has anyone written any music on a raspberry pi 3? Obviously it's not capable of full fledged audio production; however, I'm interested if anyone has gotten it set up with some minimalist synths, trackers, sequencers, etc.. I'd like to use it for practice and rudimentary music production to flesh some harmonic/melodic ideas out.

You're definitely not wrong. I can do this on this machine however I'm interested in the portability of a raspberry pi (I also realize laptops can accomplish this) and for generally putting my raspberry pi 3 to good use. Putting it to use this way also relates to my passion.

1.Create a new layer in your image.
2. Select the Ellipse tool from the Gimp Toolbox.
3. Draw an ellipse/circle where you want it on your image. (Click one spot, and drag the mouse to a second spot, and then release it.) I recommend making it just a little bit larger than you think you’ll need it, because the circle border will have a slight width to it. (Hold down the Shift and Alt keys while drawing to make a circle rather than an ellipse.)
4. On the Gimp menu, click the Select menu, then the Border menu item.
5. On the Border Selection dialog that comes up, select the pixel width for your circle. (I know that’s not what it says, but that’s what it means.) I generally use two or three pixels. You can also experiment with the “Feather Border” setting to see if you like what it does.
6. When you click OK on that dialog, you should now see that your ellipse/circle appears to have a border, with dashes lines making up the inner and outer border edges.
7. Make sure the foreground color is set to the color you want.
8. Now click the Edit menu, and select the “Fill with FG Color” option.

True AI? My guess is 60-100 years. People are trying to model it after the human brain/conscious, because its the only thing we know that has produced intelligence.
Lots of progress has been made on trying to understand the pure physical side of the brain, but there is still a lot we don't know. How the brain is organized and works on a "software" level? Everyone is all over the place with that and can't agree on much.
In all honestly, I think someone will create a true AI and not know how it works/how they exactly did it.
