I just downloaded this about a hour ago and after trying for that hour to get something to work to no avail, I came here. Does anyone here have past experience with this program? I think the solution should be quick I'm just not familiar with this thing.

Long story short this is my first time using the thing and I'm trying to make a proxy for my console. Only problem is nothing seems to be happening in the left window. No results, protocols, urls. I was following a tutorial and a bunch of stuff loaded up in it. Mine's blank with one url. I think that's my problem.

>Why Is Silicon Valley So Awful to Women?
https://archive.is/XzeHV

>Highlights

Women not only are hired in lower numbers than men are; they also leave tech at more than twice the rate men do. It’s not hard to see why. Studies show that women who work in tech are interrupted in meetings more often than men.

They are evaluated on their personality in a way that men are not. They are less likely to get funding from venture capitalists, who, studies also show, find pitches delivered by men—especially handsome men—more persuasive. And in a particularly cruel irony, women’s contributions to open-source software are accepted more often than men’s are, but only if their gender is unknown.

For women of color, the cumulative effect of these slights is compounded by a striking lack of racial diversity—and all that attends it.

... “workplace conditions, a lack of access to key creative roles, and a sense of feeling stalled in one’s career” are the main reasons women leave. “Undermining behavior from managers” is a major factor.

The researchers found that telling participants that their company valued merit-based decisions only increased the likelihood of their giving higher bonuses to the men.

Such bias may be particularly rife in Silicon Valley because of another of its foundational beliefs: that success in tech depends almost entirely on innate genius.

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that these kinds of politics will be the greatest challenge the 21st century will face.

Women's suffrage may have been a mistake
The civil rights movement was the beginning of the end
>>
Because of feminism.
I don't want my business to deal with some potentially crazy bitch throwing rape accusations everywhere and calling the aircondition units patriarchal oppression,
so the best way to avoid it is to simply not have any.

Better be branded a sausage-party than deal with crazy bitches pulling stupid lawsuits and mayhem.

I fucking hate women managers

Do afraid of being bossy that they are fucking vague about everything and never tell me what I need to do

hey /g/, long time no c://

i am planning on setting up a read only vm permanently connected to an anonymous vpn so i can anonymously browse sites and not worry too much about things leaking if the sites i visit strike back. i'll probably use debian since thats what i always use but i was wondering if there is a good distro to use to keep things as locked down as possible while im running it on my home pc. i've never used qubes or sandboxed distros before so i hoping you gents could give me some suggestions/insight.

There's Debian hardening guides out there you can follow, they're usually pretty thorough
>>
>>59424219
alpine fits the read-only case pretty well

>>59424312
thanks for the tips, ill check out both and see what i find.

I did but rpi3 it was running on is too weak to decode most videos.

Anyone know if a dedicated "TV box" would handle it better?
>>

PC, Laptop, Smartphone, Tablet all ran it perfectly fine.
Now i have a Nvidia SHIELD console as dedicated multimedia box, which also supports Kodi. Can recommend.

I never really see any discussion about this language on here and I'm not really sure why.

I've just started looking into it as a noob who is trying to learn my first real language and I wanted to know what /g/ thought of it as a language as a whole, it's current state in the industry, and maybe get some good resources for learning it.

Ruby good

next question
>>
>>59424553
Is it realistic to learn the language in hopes of getting a job with the language?

Is Rails really that bad?

Is the language dead??

My girlfriend is looking to get her first pair of good headphones. I'm thinking the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 over ear, wired, they are about $250 on Amazon now a days. Them being closed ear, foldable (she will use them on the go), and just generally well made is a plus. I figured I would ask if anyone has any alternative suggestions. Considered the AKG k7xx but they are just too big and also open eared.

I've been listening to these Sennheiser IE80s for a bit more than half a year now, I love them. Also, my MSI GS60.

Boys I need your help

I sent MSI my R9 390 GAMING 8G because it broke and I needed it replaced on the warrenty.

Everything was going normal and they said it should take 5-15 business days for replacement and for me to receive my card. Originally sent on February 2nd!!!!

Now today finally they email me, after a ton of pressure from me. But instead of offering to replace they now say that they cant give me a R9 390 GAMING 8G but instead want to give me a GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G.

So boys, is this a fair swap, and also if I were to request a better one what could I request.

Basically how far could I get them to bend in my favor, seeing as though they took so fucking long and broke their warranty guarantee.

>>59423917
It's not. 390 was like 500 bucks when it was new IIRC. Demand a 1070 with 8GB of VRAM or something like a 480
>>
>>59423917
That's not fair. You should request a 1080 at the MINIMUM.

We use an old IBM program to scan in F35 parts after they are delivered.

Does anyone here use Magisk instead of SuperSu? How is it in comparison to SuperSU? I was thinking about flashing it when I install a new rom.

SuperSU is a botnet now. Magisk lets you use apps that block rooted phones so thats nice
>>
1. Use PHH's Superuser, not SuperSU.
2. Magisk cannot be used on its own. It's a root hider, not a superuser application on its own.
