Why are thinkpads so ugly?

Do you know Let's Note?
Why is the XPS 15 so perfect? Small for a 15" laptop and not overly small like a 13" laptop
>>59429039
I don't know it just is :3
thanks for the advert dell
>>59429039
>small for a 15" laptop
>it's 15 inches
>light for 100KG
You're a fucking idiot
Because they designed it that way idiot. Smaller bezel = more likely to get damaged in shipping and general use. Looks pretty though.
Netflix has an interesting plan to diversify its offerings and satisfy its growing audience of mobile streamers β and it involves making different versions of its original series specifically tailored for streaming on your tablet and smartphone. https://joinfo.com/entertainment/1026887_netflix-might-soon-start-tailoring-its-original-series-specifically-for-your-smartphone.html

screenfetch, or neofetch?
this question is so deep and profound, it deserves its own thread

Neofetch might be botnet, but I like the look better

What's the functional difference? They both display stats in a ricer-ish manner. One is pushed by ledditors, the other from archfags.

One you can rice more, at the expense of installing a dozen extra dependencies
As someone who is still running the fx6300 CPU
Im going to be very pleased with the new ryzen core.
Intel fag shills Still dont get it, We dont want your overpriced jew core.

I've got a Ryzen 1700 sitting next to me rendering some video right now. When I first got it all together I threw some vidya on it to stress it and make sure it was stable. A few PS2 games, using the AVX render, The Witcher games, DOA5 LR. It runs really, really well. Clock for clock performance is somethings a 2X increase over my little Llano web machine, and despite having 8c/16t it still pulls significantly less power with a pure CPU load on both.
It'd be a tremendous upgrade from anything in the Vishera line as well.
I'd check actual in game performance in Dolphin since the rendering benchmark is wildly different from in game performance, but there aren't really any gamecube or wii games I'd bother playing. Suffice it to say it can handle the PCSX2 FF software rendering test with flying colors.
>>59428925
Not an Intel shill, but let's say the r5 the 230 dollar one is competing against the 6600k. If you're only gaming, if the 6600k performs better. It's a no Brainerd to get the 6600k. Same thing vice versa. Stop being a fan boy, just get the best performance, for your budget and your needs. It's your money, might as well get the best performance you can now, and not that future proof bs Shit people say

I am in China and I am totally bothered by the restrictions imposed on every other website. My brother's wedding is coming in 1 week, and I need to be on that family group in which we're planning all the stuff. I need a VPN so that I can access Facebook. Any suggestion for a fast VPN service in China? By the way, internet here sucks too. Very slow internet speed.
>>59428614
While I was in China I was using Lantern vnp. Free version is pretty fast but it has 700MB limit. Works pretty good.
>>59428614
Do you have a uni VPN or something from back home? The accounts usually don't expire and they work decently in China
ExpressVPN works fine in China.

AMD is gimping their older cards.
If you own a R9 or older DirectX 12 capable card, after installing the latest driver, it will be magically gone! No more DirectX 12.

Richard,
I keep reading that Zen is great for productivity, but I don't see that entirely in practice.
It's great for rendering and encoding because it has twice the cores and threads of the normal human level i7. It's great for that.
But the rest seems to favour intel. Photoshop and illustrator are mainly single threaded. Maya and 3DS Max, the modelling and animation part favours single thread performance. (the rendering parts favours AMD) and audio programs want low latency, zen has a latency problem.
I don't get it.
Productivity encompasses a lot more than just video and audio editing.
Else high core xeons or 10 core Broadwell-E's wouldn't exist.
>>59428191
Oy vey goy, you don't need that silly 8 core, buy a quad core for the same price
>>59428191
The truth is that Ryzen is garbage at 99% of workloads
It's basically a server architecture, only good at highly threaded long sustained tasks like encoding/rendering
Horrible desktop CPU
Mice and keyboards are antiquated interfaces, designed in another century, for technology that is now antique.
What will they be replaced with, and when?
>>59428176
Right now? Touchscreen interfaces
In the future? Probably mind controlled
>>59428176
touchscreens
they are better and more natural than mice as an input device
we just haven't solved text input yet
speech recognition doesn't seem to actually solve that problem because you can't use it in public or when there is any noise
I suspect the swype touchscreen keybooard technology will evolve to a point where it might actually compare to a keyboard.
>>59428231
A mouse has more precision and speed than touch will ever have and honestly it sucks, selecting text is such a chore and doing anything productive is a hassle with touch.
