If you have lots of muscle, you will lose it. If you are a skeleton like this kid I knew when I was in, you can gain muscle. He went from 140-160lbs in 9 weeks. Inversely, guys coming in 200+ tended to loose 20+ lbs

So, /fit/ my wife died almost six months ago, since then, I pretty much stopped caring about myself and all that stuff.

I need to get back in form, I've gained eight kilos.

Any tip on how to re-educate myself? I started going to the gym again, already.

Problem is that my appetite is equivalent to the one of a small gorilla, and I have a terrible craving for sugar.

Just start going to gym every day.
It helps a lot.
You can pretty much eat whatever you want but you will have to work even harder to compensate for the calory surplus.

Lifting will make both ur body and ur mind feel better.

/fit/izens please help me get Linebacker fit again.
I'm 27 years old now and i was playing LB on a pretty high level when i was 21. I was 220 lbs and strong all over. I was eating shit for the past 5 years because i had a major panic disorder. I know i have 3 more years left in me to play so i'm looking to get into shape again. Any help would be appreciated

my stats now are:
>200lbs
>20% BF

my workout regimen when i was 21 were pretty much this:
>BP 5x5
>Hang Power cleans 5x5
>Incline Bench
>Skullcrushers
>Deadlifts
>Squats
>Military Press
>Hammer curls

I did all of these in one workout which took 1 1/2 hours, as you might guess this workout isn't efficient, because i was also sprinting and going to football training sessions. I did this every three days and was maxing out on BP and deadlifts each time. I got huge and really built like a MLB, but now i want to work out smart.

If you used to be an LB at "a pretty high level" then surely you'd know football specific drills? Anyway you can literally just follow the same routine you followed before but don't max out on deadlifts and bench press every time which is fucking retarded and make sure your form on hang power cleans is solid.

>can squat 3pl8 for 3 with no gear

so tell me, why shouldn't i use belt and straps? i squat to work my legs not my core. for that i can just do weighted planks. same goes for deadlift. i don't care about my grip as much as i do for everything else it works.

are there really any downsides to using those 2 things for work sets? i can still work on my grip and core until i get to the point where i can start feeling they are becoming my limiting factor before gearing up. besides that i can just do some grip work on the side.

is there a point in doing squats and diddys without those things and be limited by grip/core when i can lift far heavier weight with gear and actually feel the muscles working?

Yes it totally possible to bulk up or get in shape with bodyweight. Look up calisthenics and you'll see that you can actually do pretty cool stuff, you don't have to do just push ups for the rest of your life.
