I really like the Fat man on Batman podcast, it's not perfect, but there were some really good interviews on that show. Of course, one of the best was the Grant Morrison episodes. Ever since I first heard that story about his mystical experience I haven't been able to get it out of my head, I've examined it from multiple angles and contemplated it to death. I started attempting to transcribe it last night (I haven't finished it yet) when I noticed something strange about it, a little detail that I had overlooked until now.
Long story short, Grant Morrison went to Kathmandu when, in his hotel room, some kind of super-intelligent beings appeared to him and asked him where he wanted to go. In a near paniced state he said, Alpha Centauri. They took him there, sort of outside his body, and he could see the three stars if the Alpha Centauri system.
But he also said that he saw a planet there. I looked it up on Wikipedia to confirm, and yes, there is an earth-sized planet there, but it wasn't discovered until just last year, in 2016. Grant Morrison had his experience in 1994.

People have been writing about Alpha Centauri since the 1800s. It's one of the brightest stars you see at night and our nearest neighboring star system.
>>95111320
I believe Grant Morrison when he says he went to Alpha Centauri.
But I also believed him all 27 times from 1996 to present when he said that the Dark Age of comics was ending, that he was exorcising Alan Moore's influence, and ushering in a shiny happy new era of pop culture nirvana when we would all become as gods.
When will this happen? Or do I keep getting stuck in the divergent timeline that doesn't undergo Morrisonosis?
I'm feeling sad, /co/. Let's post some funny /co/ stuff.

I got you covered, OP.
From what I've heard, this episode could only be accessed by entering a password on Nick.com back in 2002 to gain access to the episode. The episode was about Jimmy getting a computer virus. If you remember this episode please let me know. Here's more information: http://lostmediawiki.com/Jimmy_Neutron_(lost_nick.com_exclusive_episode;_2002)#end
Yeah I think so, it was years ago back sometime in 2002 or 2003. In the episode, Jimmy's computer got a virus and it was up to him, Sheen, Carl, Cindy and Libby to track down the hacker. He lived on the outskirts of town and his nickname was "ProtectionDisabled". In the end, they caught the hacker and he was arrested.

Upon rereading, I find it easy to agree that xkcd usually sucks and that it's often only good for the odd few times where Randall really nails it and makes some sort of good point (pic related is one such example), but generally speaking, why does it suck?
All that comes to my mind is that it isn't funny, which isn't so bad because I often don't think that it's even trying to be funny, and that Randall often senselessly expects you to get whatever references he's making, which is a point that I can't as easily forgive.

randall is a moron with the ego of a genious who is perpetually stuck in the early 2000s online atheist movement because thats the last time he felt any sorth of fufillment
He doesnt have any actual insight you cant get by watching the last trendy flick with some popcorn and a little bit of booze, why dont they allow drinking at the movies?

I disagree. Heck, most of the Cueball comics are nothing but Randall demonstrating that he is aware that he is a creature of pure autism.
>He doesnt have any actual insight you cant get by watching the last trendy flick with some popcorn and a little bit of booze
Totally disagree. Are you from /tv/ or something? You must be watching much better movies than what I've been.

why is Gotham there?

>In 2013 Saga won the three Eisner Awards it was nominated for: Best Continuing Series, Best New Series and Best Writer.[72] That same year, the Vol. 1 trade paperback won the 2013 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story.[73] The series was also nominated for seven 2013 Harvey Awards and won six of those: Best Writer, Best Artist, Best Color, Best New Series, Best Continuing or Limited Series, and Best Single Issue or Story.
/lit/ here
Is this really what's considered quality writing in comicbook world? Do you understand now why we laugh at you?
lol you really want me to go dredge up modern literary awards? The Eisners, like all popular awards ceremonies, are a joke.
>>95110555
Comic awards, like all industry awards, is far more industry politics than an actual measure of quality. Saga was the first non-cape book in a while to get a wide casual audience and hyped up as the start of a new era in comics. Its more marketing than it was actual substance, but thats the story for a lot of winners.
Though getting both best continuing and best new in the same year is bullshit even by Eisner standards.
New special episode of Teen Titans GO tonight at 6. Because this show seems to want to make at least one episode for every holiday you can think of.

Who'd buy the rights to these guys first?
Marvel or DC?
>>95109367
DC already produces Space Ghost comics, Freakazoid is property of WB so DC could make a comic if they wanted, Ben Edlund isn't giving up the Tick.
Disney
>>95109367
DC is part of Warner Brothers, and has already made a few Space Ghost comics. Freakazoid is also part of Warner Brothers.
The Tick seems to be independent, still.
