I just came up with a great new method for losing weight.

Before eating a meal, put as much salt on it as you can. The saltiness will make you really thirsty and you'll drink a lot of liquid, filling your stomach so you eat less food.

How should I go about making money from this amazing idea, /ck/?

How can i cook frozen vegetables without them turning to shit?
Im trying to get my family to eat a lot more vegetables and buying fresh vegetables every two days seems expensive and time consuming so i thought id go with various mixes of frozen vegetables.
Problem is the only thing i know how to make with frozen vegetables that doesn't turn into mush is beef stew and thats probably not something you want more than once every couple of weeks.
Advice?

They aren't replaceable. Even with fucking corn, you can tell the difference between straight-off-the-cobb and canned/frozen. Frozen is good for longer stewed dishes or something along those lines (think shephard's pie), but fresh is good for things like roasted broccoli or freshly sautee'd green beans.

Guess the only advice I could give would be to know what you're cooking,and get good at the dishes you're preparing.

Here's a solution.

Do you behave a medium sized sauce pan?

Check.

Do you have a stainless steel colander?

Check.

Boil water in the sauce pan and place the colander on top of the sauce pan. Place vegetables in colander and steam to your liking. Works for mes every time.

Don't listen to that fresh vegetables taste better bullshit. It's all the same. Frozen veggies for the most part are already blanched and flash frozen to retain quality.

Which absinthe brands give the best 'high'? Can't get anything with high thujone content in the US, but I've heard people say it's more about the combination of herbs than just the thujone itself.

General Tso's chicken and crab rangoons. Took like 2 hours and wasn't as good as my favorite restaurant, but not bad at all. Also took a month to slowly buy all the ingredients because it was 2010 and I couldn't find a job. Then by the time I was ready for my first attempt, my mom used my green onions in a potato soup. Punched a hole through the kitchen wall when I found out.

Good Custards kick my ass.

Quiche took about about 6 hours to make
>mix custard night before
>Make shortcrust
>cool shortcrust
>shape shortcrust in pan
>cool
>blind bake (one time I didn't cool before blind baking...big mistake)
>patch holes from butter melting
>rebake to set the patches
>cook fillings (bacon and onion confit) took an hour and half to confit onions
>cool fillings
>set out custard to room temp
>grate cheese
Finally get to assemble ingredients!
Aerate custard mix pour into shell
float on 1/2 fillings and cheese
Aerate remaining custard
float on remaining fillings and cheese
Bake another 45 minutes and hope.
A little brown on top but the custard was set.

Taco Bell thread. When it comes to quesadillas, Taco Bell has some delicious ones. The sauce is simply to die for, but the question is....chicken or steak? I always go for the chicken.

Ok, so i got a little bit drunk and told this girl i was a very good cook. This is partly true, i can cook most simple dishes, i know most of the techniques and i can definitely follow recipes pretty easily.

However, she's expecting this michelin-star dinner tomorrow.

What do anons? Any tips on recipes that look/sound fancy, but are relatively easy to make? (think 2-3 hours, ingredients to be found in supermarket in the UK)
