What's the deal?
Massdrop has the M250C 10.2" fry pan for $150
Ebay has the same M250C frying pan in the same size, for $575. There is also an amazon seller who has one at $350.
So I'm guessing massdrop just has an amazing price or something? Anyone see a reason I shouldnt jump on this?
>>9049535
I don't know anything about massdrop, but there's a chance that they are selling "b stock"--in other words, goods that still work, but might have some tiny cosmetic flaw which prevents it from being sold at full price. It might also simply be overstock or leftover inventory from a shop that went out of business and was liquidated.
Also, you find plenty of ridiculously high prices on Ebay and Amazon. As an example, I just had to buy some lockout-tagout locks for my business. I looked to Ebay to find some deals. For the exact same product (same part number) I found prices anywhere from $10 to $300. I've seen the same when buying DVDs or Blu-Ray from Amazon. Most sellers might have the title you want for around $20 or so. But there's often some outlier asking $150 for the same exact thing. Some times people list things online for insane prices. I've seen used goods listed on Ebay at a higher price than you can buy the exact same thing brand new.

Well this particular size and style (2.5mm thickness with cast iron handle) isn't sold as an individual piece by Mauviel, it's only sold as part of a 5, 8 or 10 piece set. (starting at $1000 for the small set)
So to find the 10" pan as an individual piece is already fairly abnormal, which is why amazon and ebay prices are so high.
>>9049564
ebay shit is always overpriced, i was just on k and a muzzle flash thing sold for like 500 bucks, someone posted the pic of the thing from the original seller for 125.
also
>people buying 300 dollar rails for 1.2k
idk whats wrong with them.
ive never heard anything about mass drop before though, idk how shifty that shit is. for a price like that it looks shifty.
so like the other guy said might be blems for cheap.

Get some fucking self control. Normal weight is easy as fuck, slim is pretty easy, skinny/athletic are a bit harder.

If you are married to a weird starch and starch eating manchild (probably latino) that only eats 5 things, and you find that you fry constantly at home, get one to save their life. It might decrease the amount of oil absorbed in mass quantities of fried foods eaten at home. Plantains, tostones, french fries, that kind of thing. Since there is less oil in the fryer (as popposed to a Big Daddy Jr. or something, and you don't like to reuse oil, then there could be savings.
It might be for you if you fry when you entertain, and don't want to watch that stove, but have your guests watch this on the bar or something like that. Sure. You know, frying chicken wings, or little eggrolls or something as part of your regular weekly house party for sports watching or sunday brunch post church family gathering.
Myself? I line a baking sheet with parchment or foil, and toss some yukon golds with a Tbsp or two of oilve oil and I make my fries that way. I know the entire 4-5 potatoes in a big batch can't absorb more than 2 Tbsp oil because it's all I use. No, two temperature restaurant style fries for me, and I love mine, browned and golden skin *shrug* and it's healthy. I go out for other moods.
so, we all agree that in n out is the best burger ever right? East coasters will false flag and hate on it because they've never had it. They're just so mad they've never had the burger of the gods. Same arguments and statements by them every time.
>ITS LE CHEAP AND AN OK BURGER FOR ITS PRICE!!!! XDDDD
wrong. It's amazing.
Tired of burger threads. They all are mediocre. Burgers are mediocre. Get it through your stupid head.

yea. I get the feeling that people who shit talk it have never had it.
Just tried Sardines for the first time, and King Oscar was hella good.
What are /ck/'s favorite brand of Sardines? I feel like this is a product that would vary wildly in terms of quantity depending on the producer
>>9046004
Kroger brand is pretty good.
>>9046011
Is it? Good idea, that's kind of what I was looking for, like store-brand; aka made by a large company so there's going to be stringent oversight of the production, but also cheap. I want to use Sardines as a good chunk of protein in my weekly diet (2x/week I think), so I don't want to be buying canned fish of dubious quality.
Can't eat them any more due to the hot sauce fucking up my stomach, but have loved these since I was a kid. My dad got me started on them.
About to switch to kippers, though.
Recipe Thread, Soup Edition
Hit me with your best soups, /ck/. In return, here's mine, tortellini soup:
1. Melt 3tbsp butter in a dutch oven, then add 2 cloves garlic, 2 chopped celery stalks, 1 chopped carrot, and 1 chopped small onion. Cook for 10min, stirring.
2. Add in 2 quarts chicken broth and 1 quart water, then bring to boil. Reduce heat then add 2 9-oz packages of cheese tortellini, cook for 20min, stirring occasionally.
3. Stir in 2 tbsp of chopped parsley, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1 teaspoon nutmeg, then cover and simmer 10min. Serve with parmesan.
I've made this many times and it's always a hit. if you want more veggies, add spinach and/or diced tomatoes. If you want meat, chicken is really good.
Cooking tortellini for 30 minutes? They must totally disintegrate
>>9045228
It's only at a simmer, so maybe it would work
Tom Yum Goong. Simmer shrimp stock with lemongrass, garlic, galangal or ginger, thai peppers, mushrooms and lime leaves for 10 minutes. Add equal parts fish sauce, lime juice and peeled shrimp and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
So simple yet really complex flavors.
