What's /ck/'s opinion on Soup Stones? Do they really work?
Pic related, it's a soupstone I bought in Hawaii a while back.
>>9090161
Sounds retarded.
what the fuck is a soup stone
>>9090161
i have never heard of soup stones. what are they supposed to do?
Please do it. I'm trying to lose weight and already managed to lose 9 lbs in 4 weeks, now going for another 9 lbs.
I cut all the snacks, sweets and whatever, but right now I'm about to succumb again.
You look like a Jew at Auschwitz. Are you eating right? Let me make you something.
you are fat.
>>9090080
proud of you for losing weight op! lets work hard together. I hit 200 recently and I need to bring it down.
what's the difference between a "seasoned cast iron skillet" and a dirty skillet
Pic related this one's mine and I don't know if it's seasoned or dirty
yours is seasoned, though it's not a great quality seasoning and I personally would sand it all down and reseason it.
>>9089952
>sand it all down and reseason it.
Acting as if you aren't supposed to do this in between every use of the pan.
Cast Iron is the worlds most temperamental bullshit.
Op, get yourself a real pan. A fucking non-stick pan.
>>9090002
sounds like somebody is a little sour. did you try frying an egg on a cold pan and then spend an hour cleaning it off anon :(((
What do you guys eat with rice?
my girlfriend eats rice by itself she's weird
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J64smzgHoKw
>>9089730
Eating a bowl of basmati with a pad of butter melted over it as a snack or side dish isn't weird anon.
HELLO FOOD FANS
>>9089740

Those meth addled sluts working the drive-through window at Burger King just fucked up my order.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE those stupid bitches!
Say that to their face, not online.
>eating Burger King
Literally the worst fast food chain
>>9089315
I usually do, but the time it would take to drive back is very literally not worth my time considering my consulting fee is $245/hr.
I fucking HATE poor people. Just fucking starve to death already you stupid dirty worthless gutter rats.
Hey /ck/, what was the first dish you cooked?
Mine, was
spaghetti alle vongole
. You thought that I was going to use a dead meme?
>>9089289
There are no spoilers to food, silly.
>>9089289
I never thought spoilering would need to be a thing on ck, glad to see I was right.
Boiled hot dogs and baked french fries was the first I ever cooked, because I was like 10 at the time.
>>9089301
I was only able to cook rice as garniture food when I was 16.
Why is American vending machine culture so bloody shit?
>>9089010
vending machine culture? there are grocery stores every 10 miles and convenience stores every 2 miles all stocked full of the best that the world has to offer. Why would I bother with a vending machine?
>>9089034
>all stocked full of the best that the world has to offer
>the best the world has to offer
>the best
i don't think so, tim
>Be the south
>put some kind of nut, usually pecan, in every fucking dessert
Why do they do this? I fucking hate nuts in food to begin with, but they have to ruin every good dessert by cramming it full of tasteless, chewy, weird textured nuts as well. My wife's family in Texas is so appalled by my disdain for pecans in every dessert they make, like it is something that everyone does and everyone loves.
>>9088979
The contrast between the two flavors enhances each other unlocking a new taste sensation
>>9088979
Pleb
Nuts are essential for optimum health. Walnuts are the healthiest, but pecans are among the tastiest. What kinds of desserts would you have instead?
>tfw 110 degrees outside
>need a hobby that doesn't involve going outside
>realizing cooking and baking counts
You're going to avoid the heat by generating more heat?
>110 degrees
>heating up your house even more with the oven on

There you have it. A nice, simple and easy Donut recipe done in 60 minutes.
It's too hot to cook. What are some cool recipes?

No. But here's a recipe to try regardless: Bruschetta. Just don't do faggy presentation like this with such small slices of baguette and the balsamic reduction all over the plate. Simple bruschetta plus lemonade or sangria on your back porch in the shade = maximum summertime comf.
What's the best way to grill? And why is it charcoal?

do you guys grow your own herbs?
I really try but those fuckers keep dying on me
any tips?
>>9088785
Do you have them in pots? You can literally move them out of the sun if it's too hot. Water the poor bastards too. How exactly do they keep dying on you?
I have terrible luck with basil. I feel like there's a balance between pruning too much and not enough that I haven't found.
I have some potted herbs outside, the rosemary and basil is good but the parsley and mint are limp and yellow no matter what happens.
