Hello /ck/.

I have an allergy to various fruits and vegetables, which is pretty annoying as I can't enjoy a lot of things, like watermelon. However, I've learned recently that cooking fruit/veggies destroys a certain protein in them which causes my allergic reactions. For example, I can't eat raw zucchini but I can eat fried zucchini just fine.

Is there a way I can cook watermelon, but then put it back and the fridge and eat it normally/have it taste normally? I want to eat normal, cold watermelon slices but they need to be heated in some way first.

What would /ck/ recommend in this case? Thanks in advance.

How do you lazyfags do healthy cooking while cutting out the carbs (or at least empty calories)? What ingredients do you get in bulk so you don't have to visit the store a lot? How do you prepare the food?

Chicken and pork. Lots of it. Use herbs and spices, not sauces, to flavor things. The oven is your friend. Limit your oil usage to the tablespoon or two they suggest, instead of drowning your food. Carbs are not evil. Sweet potato, veggies, quinoa, and brown rice are delicious. Limit yourself to a single whole wheat roll with dinner if you're wanting to cut down on bread. Prep in bulk; bake a dozen chicken breasts off and package them up with some brown rice or sweet potato, and some green veggies like spinach or broccoli. Keep 4-5 of those in the fridge, and freeze the rest. As you use them, pull from the freezer to the fridge to defrost (use one, pull one). Eat at a 500 calorie deficiency from what you require based on your weight, or go as low as an 800 deficiency if you eat lots of filling veggies. Exercise for 40 mins a day (a 3 mile fast walk is a good way to do this low-impact). When the season is good, grilling is a great way to mix things up and stay low-cal. Use oil spray to lube the grill, or a tablespoon of oil in a citrus herb marinade (you make yourself to limit sugar and artificial shit) and viola.

There's a ton you can do. Devote some thought to it.

I Don't know all the steps to making brie but typically Americans can make things (booze, foods, guns) as long as it's just for personal use, it's when you want to distribute anything you make that the government gets all pissy with regulations

What are some foods that you only eat under the "right" or "specific" circumstances?

For example, I think mayonnaise and sour cream (as separate ingredients) are generally gross, BUT I make some exceptions. For example a dollop of sour cream on some spicy nachos or a western-style omelette is acceptable. But when people start mixing it into actual foods, I think that's just GROSS. I will not eat a taco/burrito that has sour cream in it.

Same thing with mayonnaise. There are some burgers that it works on, and I'm even more lenient when its a flavored mayo, but that's it. Putting mayo on a turkey sandwich is fucking gross. Tuna is gross. Anything that has mayo mixed in it is gross.

Of course this is just my opinion. But do any of you have a similar attitude towards certain foods?
