Hello /ck/.
I have an allergy to various fruits and vegetables, which is pretty annoying as I can't enjoy a lot of things, like watermelon. However, I've learned recently that cooking fruit/veggies destroys a certain protein in them which causes my allergic reactions. For example, I can't eat raw zucchini but I can eat fried zucchini just fine.
Is there a way I can cook watermelon, but then put it back and the fridge and eat it normally/have it taste normally? I want to eat normal, cold watermelon slices but they need to be heated in some way first.
What would /ck/ recommend in this case? Thanks in advance.

Juice them up boil the juice and then create watermelon ice cubes add lime and salt
Also, for those curious, this is what I have: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_allergy_syndrome
tl;dr I'm allergic to pollen, but my body reacts to certain fruits because they are similar to the pollen.

Before I try this, is there any other method which keeps the original watermelon slice intact?
What if I microwaved it?

I've heard you can grill watermelon, but grilled food doesn't taste as good if you put it in the fridge and reheat it

Yeah I heard that too, I figured there could be alternatives out there.
I'm going to microwave a few watermelon slices tonight. I'll then put them back in the fridge and cool them back to normal.
We'll see how it goes.
I've put a slice of watermelon in the microwave for 1m30sec then put it back in the fridge.
In an hour or two I'll taste it.
