>checking meters on houses is basically my job
>behind schedule last thursday because fuck traffic
>show up to my last residence for the day
>pull into long gravel driveway
>house is pretty far into the woods
>light is fading but can still see with out head lights
>wind is picking up
>get out of the truck and feel the temperature drop
>feels like it's going to rain
>try to find the meter and get back to the truck before the storm rolls in
>find the meter around the side of the house
>record all the data
>replace tamper tag
>walk back around to the driveway to gtfo
>all the wind suddenly dies
>woods are pitch black
>everything is quiet
>it's cold
>strange feeling starts in my stomach
>can't really explain what was causing it
>stop and listen for anything

>feel something looking at me but can't see it
>still hear nothing
>pull out my phone and take pic related to see if it would pick anyhting up
>soon as my phone makes the fake shutter sound I hear what sounds like whispering

>too scared to look at my phone until I get back to the main road

Hey /x/, does anyone have that greentext about the guy who goes into the woods with his friend, who after a few nights changes and is never the same again?
There was one night where anon awoke in the tent to find him sitting over him watching him sleep. The guy couldn't remember things they'd done as kids which they'd always talk about before the camping trip.
Anon believed some creature was wearing his skin, and told his friends never to go in those woods with the guy again. It was a great story and I'd like to save it, if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

/x/ is probably one of the worst places to ask this stuff, but I'll lend you a hand here.
For info, there are a million websites and books. I hate to say it, but Tumblr's witch community has a ton of masterposts and reference material. Look up some of that for quick organized reading material. There community may be a bunch of bitches, but they're good at organizing information when you look for it.
There are a lot of ways to ground yourself, but some people, myself included, don't see a point in it. It all depends on the tradition and craft you're using. The most common way of grounding involves visualizing the energy in your body cycling out of you. Some people stand bare foot in the grass and picture it flowing into the ground, some people shower to was away the energy and absorb new energy form the water. As long as you understand the concept, you can do anything. The point is to cycle out energy and attune yourself back to normal after doing major magick.
To practice, start by looking up the kind of magick you want to do, and do it. I suggest making your own spells as soon as you understand how to. A lot of new witches fall into the trap of only doing spells someone else made, and personally I think that's shit.
You see signs by keeping your eyes and ears open. Looking for signs is a basic form of divination, and divination at it's core is the idea that information is hidden everywhere. In cards, bones, tea leaves, clouds, background sound in a busy street. this post, everywhere. The idea is to just look for it and try to interpret what you see.
Personally, I also think planets don't do shit in magick, but it's not hard to find lots of other peoples stuff saying it does. I deal with magick on a much larger and varied scale than this solarsystem, because I feel there's a lot more to draw from in pulsars, black holes, the strong and weak forces, and subatomic particles. Some people like planets, some forests and oceans, some gods, others the universe.

Anyone dabbling in altered perceptions of society?
Got something I've started doing, if I overhear a conversation and someone says "it" i take it to refer to me, so if they say "its great" i take it as them saying I'm great.
I also keep in mind that I'm actively creating this double meaning so I'm effectively having two conversations at once.
Anyone got any similar tricks to achieve altered perception?
Getting real bored with society lads need to tap into some altered states.
