Playing a lot of NES as a kid, I never got around to playing the sega master system. What are your favorite games for this console and where do I start?
You start by getting a decent Genesis flash cart, since that can play MS games too.
I'd check out things like Psycho Fox, the Sonic games published in it were different to the Mega Drive games, Shinobi is pretty fun as is the Wonderboy series

Is psycho fox similar to decap attack?

Are there any games that you remember playing, but can't find anything about them ever existing anywhere?
In my case there is a lot, here are a couple:
It was a PS1 game. I remember watching my older then-stepbrother at the time play this game. The people he played as can shapeshift into cats. I remember he was running around as a cat in a back alley and the setting was at night with street lights on, and was inside some kind of castle looking place. I remember him running around as the cat with possibly other animals or cats following behind him. He then opened a door and that's pretty much all I remember.
The game was on PC and it was Top-Down and half 2D and half 3D. I remember that you collect these jewel or gem type of things, they were differently shaped and could be green, red, etc. I remember you were in some kind of vehicle and had to search for these things. There was very little light, with only a little visible area that moved around with you. I also remember you could click and drag the map around with your mouse to see all the gems you collected on the map. I also think you had a base you had to defend, but I'm not entirely sure. The game took place on some kind of rocky planet, I remember the music being sort of creepy in atmosphere. The game came pre-installed on a Gateway PC from 2005.
What are some games you can't find? Maybe someone here can help!
Only one futuristicish flying game for the PC, quite basic 3D graphics from what I remember, but I played the shit out of it.
Literally all I can remember.
I remember playing some arcade game about 25 years ago about kids with big round heads & ballcaps who ride on skateboards, and beat everyone up in their path with said skateboards. I've put this up a couple times on those "help identify a game" threads and only suggestion I get is DJ Boy, but I swear that's not it.
I remember an old learning software game about a group of kids living in a tree in order to teach about ecosystems and botany. It was a flat, corss section view of the tree, the under ground, and the canopy, with all the dialogue fully voiced.
I remember specifically one of the boys sitting in the underground section and remarking how cozy it was for him.
So I bought Kirby Super Star on SNES but, it turned out the game wouldn't save. I replaced the battery yesterday and it worked for a bit but then my games kept erasing. Any idea what the problem could be? I've tested other games in the console and they save just fine. Pic related: The cart in question
These pictures are garbage but the thing on the cart labeled "R1" is a tad screwed up. I tried to show it here. Not sure what that specific component does or whether or not that could be causing anything
>>3068448
turns out this picture was entirely unnecessary
I also have a Kirby Super Star (J) and it saved normally, played normally and everything seemed just fine. One day I accidentally poked the cart when trying to eject it, and the screen became glitched and I heard a silent bleep sound. Scared, I reset the game and found all my save files gone.
I'm not an expert on the subject, but could it be that KSS is a exceptionally fragile cart (because of the extra SA-1 contact legs?)
I dunno. Clean the contacts, make sure you don't wiggle or push it under any circumstances.
This game is awesome but I'm stuck.
Also this part left an impression on me.

Bumping your own topic. For shame, OP.
CRPG general thread...go!
just started playing Betrayal at Krondor!
Any hints?

The graphics in that game are pretty awful especially considering how nice contemporary Sierra titles like KQ6 looked.
POR must have been a popular game because Ebay has tons of copies.
New Zelda Classic thread.
>Quick explanation for those unfamiliar:
>Zelda Classic is a fan-made PC recreation of The Legend of Zelda that comes with an extensive editor tool, that allows you to essentially make your own Zelda quest. You're not just limited to stuff from Zelda 1, as the editor lets you add tons of items and elements from later Zelda games, and supports scripting to allow you to add even more.
>You can get it at zeldaclassic.com, and check out purezc.com for resources, scripts, quests, and et cetera.
I remember toying with this thing, it was neat.
Related note, here's a program that randomizes Zelda 1. It will switch up all kinds of things, makes it feel rather fresh if you've played Zelda 1 ad nauseum.

thinking of buying a commadore 64 is it worth it new to the console

Pick one. You already proved that you're too dumb to do the thing you propose to do.
Also it doesn't seem like you tried any C64 games on emulation to see if you like them before spending money on...yeah.

i played some on the wii virtual console service

What are you looking to do with it, just play games?
If you play anything but the Japanese arcade version you are a pussy.
The US version gives you like 5 bonus lives.
The Japanese version gives you 1 bonus life.
Someone on this board said that Final Fight isn't hard to 1cc. You know who you are, buster. You obviously play the US version which was made for girls. Why don't you try to 1cc the Japanese version and come back and say the game ain't tough.
MAME doesn't count in any event.
I rarely see people playing FF with 5 extra lives, isn't that only in the 360 port?
Either way, Final Fight is hard but not that hard to 1cc.
>>3070457
Which version do you play?
While it was lacking in many aspects, I still appreciate it for what it was and had.
So here's a Nintendo 64 thread.
Why are 64DD units so god damn expensive?
my favorite console desu
>>3070279
Because it was a failure.
Why is this game viewed so highly?
Is it actually that fun? Or is it because it's good for scoring?
Also, can I have a ship tier list, in terms of 1cc.
>Why is this game viewed so highly?
Because it was quite original, it encourages a pretty unorthdox way of playing.
>Is it actually that fun? Or is it because it's good for scoring?
It's good but you have to spend a lot many hours in the game to play decently. It also has good scoring but that's only if you enjoy these stuff, otherwise 1cc should be fine.
>Also, can I have a ship tier list, in terms of 1cc.
Mahou ships (especially Miyamotto and Bornnam) and Wild Snail are good for 1cc, i recommend Wild Snail ABC. The other garegga ships are hard as hell.
>>3068413
It is fun, but in a strange, masochistic way that only Raizing games are fun. It's got a complex system where the game gets impossibly hard if you start doing good, so you end up doing backwards shit like dying on purpose, passing up powerups, and stuff. Personally, I always preferred Battle Bakraid. The game's much less of a brutal monster fuck and has more planes to choose from.
>tfw, only playable on MAME
I don't know the tier lists for 1cc, but I do best with Wild Snail and Gain. I never beat the game (the last boss is a real bitch), but those two are a good start.
Also, Garegga's Saturn version is better. Play that one, the arcade version is fucked up, requires configuring, and takes fucking forever to load on startup.
>>3068428
Oh also the graphics and music are pretty top and really add to the game, the tension in this stage is pretty crazy.
