nevermind my nigga I got it to work, just have to fix the sound.
Can we have a Donkey Kong Country 2 Thread?
Have the day off today so I'm sitting at home playing through it. Just got to Hornet Hole in Kremland.
>Diddy or Dixie?
>Best Track?
>Best Stage?
>Worst Stage?
>Best Boss?

>Dixie
>Forest Interlude
>Rickety Race
>Bramble Blast
>Kaptain K-Rool
>Krow
>Definitely my favorite classic DK, though its tough to decide between it and Tropical Freeze when ranking the whole series.
>>3062117
>>Diddy or Dixie?
Dixie cause it's easy modo
>>Best Track?
Stickerbush Symphony
>>Best Stage?
mudhole marsh
>>Worst Stage?
>>Best Boss?
If we're not counting Kaptain K-Rool, the one before Kremland
>>Worst Boss?
Krow
>>Is DKC2 your favorite of the first 3? If not, what's your ranking of them?
It's my #1 in original trilogy. I got it 2>1>3
>>3062117
Best game of all time.
>Diddy, but both are perfect. If I were female I would say Dixie.
>Stickerbrush Symphony.
>Mudhole Marsh.
>Klobber Karnage - those fucking barrels are not fun.
>Does K. Rool count? If not Kleever.
>Man... I almost hate to say it but Krow I guess.
>Yes, DKC2>>>>>DKC3>=DKC1.
DKC3 is gets points because there's more of it and some is quite fun, loses points because a lot of it was crap.
Let's have an annoying FPS enemies/moments/puzzles thread. Starting off with a classic.
Those flying pig things on the 2nd level of Duke 3D.
>>3062092
Very annoying but outrunning them is the best option if stealth isn't needed.
Hey /vr/ wondering if any of you can help. I got my Saturn out of storage recently and the internal battery seems to be dead. Every time I turn it on I get this screen.
I thought it was fine at first because I tried saving a game and resetting and it was still there. But this morning I went to play again and the save disappeared. Any help? Is the only fix to replace the battery? And are they even available?
Christ almighty the people that visit this board. The battery is a basic CR2032 that can be bought anywhere batteries are sold. The battery is located in a small pull-out tray on the back of the console. Please use Google before bumping a perfectly valid thread off the board next time.
Ask your dad or adult care taker for help.
>>3061903
> Is the only fix to replace the battery?
Yes and on. You can change the battery, but if you're too bothered with that, there is a solution for games which only support internal battery saving (versus memory card).
As you experienced for yourself, the saves will still be there if you reset, rather than turn off the console. So you can save the game on internal battery, reset, copy the save to a memory card/gameshark, and turn off the console. Then, when turning on, copy the save from the memory cad to the internal battery. Ta-dah!

what resolution is it?
>>3061651
Tobal isn't a full 480i anyway
A friend challenged me in Top Gear.
He always picks the red car with manual transmission, what car should i pick?
It seems that the white has the best handling and very low fuel consumption but it is the slowest and i'm afraid he will just zoom past me in most tracks, are purple or blue decent choices?
the one with the most top speed if you're good.
the one with the most handling if you're still learning ( bad ). the in betweens are pointless
>>3061072
So, there is no reason to pick either purple or blue?
>>3061058
>i'm afraid he will just zoom past me in most tracks
Is your friend a machine?
Red car have shitty acceleration and too much fuel consumption, the idea is that this car would be the best if piloted by an expert player due to the higher max speed, but the developers failed.
There isn't a way to perfectly play Top Gear because of the limited view, the red car is the worst, it only works in shallow theory.
For those of you who have a lot of loose carts, how do you store your manuals?
I'm in the processing of organizing my games better (just added end-labels to all my n64 carts) and want to be able to access all my manuals as quickly and easily as possible. I was thinking of using binder inserts, but it seems like SNES/N64 manuals are too big for that to be practical.
>>3060818
I'd imagine most people who have loose carts don't also have manuals.
Theres probably no really good way to store them. They aren't thick enough to have end labels.
You could look into bitboxes or whatever, I know UGC don't have tabs for manuals, but I think bitboxes from stoneagegamer might. I would advise against boxing everything because honestly it takes up a huge amount of space and becomes a pain in the ass when you get new games becuase you now need to get boxes for those.
But yeah, probably just a binder with those clear sheets that you stick papers into is probably the best way.
>>3060824
Yeah, I used to plan on getting custom cases for all games that came from cardboard boxes but ultimately decided having loose carts made more sense. I don't need to show off my collection on a shelf; I just want all my games and manuals to be easily accessible.
>>3060818
Binders, bitboxes, or just a cardboard box with little tabs to alphabetize are all pretty decent options. First two are the best looking, third is most functional.
Which do you prefer?
Sorry if you guys have this thread all the time I don't browse very often
>>3060646
SMB1.
SMB3 AND SMW suck imho tbqfh.
I like them both and don't even remember which I played first because I was so young. Too hard to pick one.
I prefer SMW but SMB3 is one of the greatest games ever.
Did this age poorly? I read a review of Live & Reloaded that said all the jokes it makes about stuff like The Matrix are outdated and unfunny nowadays. Also is there any Conker lewd out there?
>>3060137
All the Rare platformers are just really tedious and boring because all it is is collecting for the sake of collecting.
>>3060147
How would you correct it, considering Banjo-Kazooie uses Jiggies to unlock new worlds.Jak & Daxter is dull.
>>3060137
Opinions, I remember disliking most of the jokes back in 2005 when I first emulated it. But the multiplayer was nice.
So, if I use a japanese or american Mario 64 cart on a pal N64 with N64 Passport III and a pal N64 cart to act as unlocker and play it on a pal TV, will I be finally able to play the game at the right freaking framerate?
>>3059793
I don't think so. IIRC the framerate is limited by the hardware, not the cart itself.
>>3061510
Dingo.
Nope, pal games are always 50hz.
This game any good?
Depends. Why do you ask?
>>3058885
Got a Saturn recently, and I already have VF2 and FV on the 360, so I was wondering if this was any good. I liked VF2 a lot, but FV was just okay to me.
>>3058876
It's good, I was playing it last night. It's a little slow and the physics can be floaty, but the combat is still top notch.
I prefer Virtua Fighter 2, but I like it a lot better than Fighting Vipers. Fighting Vipers didn't get good until 2, in my opinion.
Question for oldfags: how did gamers view the "interactive FMV" games that seemed to be hot shit in the early 90s? I am only 24, so by the time I could actually follow games I was well into the PS1/N64 era which was a little after the FMV heyday. Did you guys think these were awesome at the time, decent, or shitty?
Might seem like a pointless question, but I like understanding how things were perceived in their own time period as opposed to decades later.
I don't think most had access to them because a lot were relegated to CD devices. I don't think I ever saw a Dragons Lair machine either. Though yeah, it seemed awesome and I did want to play Dragons Lair.
Reviewer-wise, it all depended on how much gameplay there was.
IIRC Braindead 13 got a 25% or something rating in the german magazine PC Games but the reviewer said that if you only judge the cartoon alone it'd be more around 80%.
Personally, I couldn't stand most of them with the exceptions being those that featured some decent integration of the FMVs into the gameplay like Creature Shock or games that had them only as cutscenes like Lost Eden.
would a game like kings quest 7 be considered FMV?
Can someone explain the appeal of beat-em-ups like Turtles in Time and Streets of Rage?
I've never "got" this genre. They look like really repetitive simple versions of "real" fighting games like Street Fighter 2. They're awful to play single player, because enemies surround you, so your only move becomes jump-kicking from one side of the screen to the other. There are usually like 3 or 4 different enemy sprites and all other "variety" comes from palette swaps, which is low-tier laziness.
I can play these games and finish them fine, but I don't get why anyone would want to.
explain the appeal of running around with your homies kicking the shit out of people while picking up weapons and shit and hearing bad ass music while you do so and get into boss fights... hm....
what?
>confirmed for no friends and playing beat em ups alone
And here come the finest shitposters on the board.
This thread is gonna be pure cancer.
