I don't think there was any lack of effort - just a lack of ability. The team just had zero experience of making a AAA game, or any game for that matter, since they'd previously just put together DLC for finished games. EA also wanted things done as cheap as possible, meaning all their new hires were fresh out of college with zero experience, trying to get a foot in the door.

Having said that, it's really no worse than Cisquisition, technical issues aside.

It's worst flaw is that it's so fucking boring. None of the characters are interesting, and the planets are just more DA:I fetch shit,

op you aren't supposed to do each dungeon in a single run. loot the place, reset, get the fairies, reset, then kill the boss and do the post-dungeon stuff in the area. you shouldn't have any trouble making it to the boss before the end of the first day once you have all the treasure and have already run the dungeon twice.

Ever since that terrible discussion of a pic of that game being RDR2, I've been curious about this. Fingers crossed it ends up being a fun game, we don't need to keep on having to suck off Rockstar whenever we want a new Wild West game. Since we won't ever have another GUN (thanks activision for merging neversoft with cod teams), I hope we get more alternatives.

biggest gripe about RDR was how shitty the combat was and how limited the inventory in the game. i want to have to collect herbs to craft medicine to heal myself or make myself indian hallucinogens and murder people on a highway with a knife and steal their dosh and buy whiskey in the next town with it

The PS4 port is perfectly serviceable if you can't play on PC. At launch it had a lot of performance issues but the game has had many patches and runs much better now.
