Artifact is Valve's upcoming card game based off of Dota 2
>What do we know?
There are three game boards that represent the lanes
You control 5 heroes, just like DotA
You can equip item cards on to the Heroes that you buy with gold
There are creeps that spawn every turn
You can play creature cards
Some cards are cast on the lane and have persistent effects on that lane
Each Hero has abilities like their DotA counterparts ("You can cast track on a Hero as Bounty Hunter and get extra Gold")

Okay for real, fuck Iron Passage. Good lord fuck these sorcerers slowing me down while 2+ ashen warriors hit me for nearly half my health per hit and I'm being shot at with great arrows by possessed Armor. This is MISERABLE, someone get summoned for it please? I want you to go through the gate toward the fireball-shooting statue, you'll take the top route and it'll be more manageable..hopefully

Haven't been there yet , first run through any DLC (and Dark Souls 2 in its fullest). Started with Iron Keep naturally, I think I saw another entrance point later to a different one but not sure.

Are there any RPG's where you can build a character around effectively using items?
Every time I play one, I find myself with a cluttered inventory of shitty items I never bother to use because they don't scale, and magic often times does the same job, but better. The only example I can think of is Jeff from Earthbound, but surely there's some game that lets you build a character around increasing the effectiveness of your potions, or using unequipped weapons or something.

I wish more games used late 90s era 3D and texturing. When indie's started remaking classic 2D artstyles with modern updates (like Shovel Knight and Freedom Planet), I started hoping that maybe they'd move onto 3D, with games looking like they're from the PS1 or Dreamcast. But it seems like indie devs are either going to stick to pixel art or shitty premade modes from the Unity store. The only real example of a modern game using this artstyle is Power Drill Massacre, but that game is pretty shit imo.
