So. I've recently been into overwatch to the point where I'm actually starting to give a shit about what the story is to these diverse characters I grind out hours a day fucking around on multiplayer with. Tonight, however, I decided to sit down and actually watch all of the trailers, shorts, videos, whatever they've released. I was blown away at the quality. Wondering why such great stories and quality cutscenes weren't integrated into the game other than online and lore?
I get it. Multiplayer team-based esports. Cool.
It's already successful as hell, so why add a free story mode to an already well-performing game?
Which brings me to my idea. Why. WHY doesn't Blizzard release (even if its like a 50 dollar dlc) a story mode that simply adds to the game? Using such cutscenes and lore and piecing it all together to a grand story. A final fight between the new overwatch and Talon (and doomfist with roadhog and junkrat as bad guys too or whatever)?
Hell. I would be willing to buy a separate game disk just for this story mode. Keeping the multiplayer and events separate, they can effectively double their money from one story mode campaign.
Or fuck it. Just a straight up cinematic movie. It'd be a long ass movie. But hey. Sequels. More money for them. (Pic related. Realistic as hell looking Pharah)

Why not capitalise on an already wildly popular game? If the story mode isn't free, then they're making a blow-away profit from it.
And a movie instead? Well. Let's not get into how much money companies make from successful films. You'll hate your minimum wage job. And let's face it, Blizzard will make a good film. Warcraft, for what it was, was a pretty fantastic film.

What is it about competitive play that brings out all the retards of the world? I haven't lost a single game of Lucio Ball until I did placement matches for comp. It was a nightmare. People don't play goalie when they spawn on goal, they keep going for more points when we get a lead so we have less defense, nobody knows that if you boop the top of the ball it actually moves. We'll be in overtime and I'll be the only one guarding. Its bullshit. The one gamemode I'm good at is ruined by competitive tryhards. If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, don't play comp if you're not good at it, and don't play if you're not playing to win. There is no second place in life and fucking normies need to realize that.
