Why gf hot room mate is dating a weirdo
A CURE FOR WELLNESS is one of the most daring (even if the choices don't always land the best) and original pieces of American cinema I've seen come out from the major studios sphere. Similar to CRIMSON PEAK, the film will most likely flop and then Hollywood will only be reinvigorated to continue pumping out more Batman vs Superman films that play the formula safe. We complain and say we ant films that are more original like CURE and CRIMSON, yet don't give these films a chance.
I believe one of the biggest reasons this film is getting negative reviews is due to the nature and tone; audiences and critics going in with feelings and expectations that don't match the actual nature of the movie's real hybrid-genre - body horror, gothic horror, fairytale, and elements of sci-fi.
The set design, wardrobe, cinematography, casting, and "world" crafted in the film were breathtaking, the closest we'll ever get to a BIOSHOCK film IMO regarding tone and atmosphere. Dane Dehaan seriously is aiming to be one of generation's greats, and Mia Goth's character I felt actually was layered and didn't fall into the similar tropes.
So even though I really enjoyed the film, I have no problem admitting the film has some severe faults that deters it from being PHENOMENAL (it's a great film, not falls flat due to some weird choices). I feel as though there were some edits in the 2nd Act that could've been tighter and helped with context, and the 3rd Act asks to audience to suspend their disbelief in such a a huge jump compared to the rest of the film, which is frustrating because I believe with a few re-edited scenes and moments, it could've flowed much better.
Also, many critics and viewers complaining about the "plot holes" and being left with tons of questions need to chill.
I enjoyed this film too

Ok I think I will go out tonight to see this movie.
Recommend me tv shows / movies which

>do not have a liberal agenda

>are not about war
>are not about a detective or the police or a gang member
>are not a documentaries
>portray its subjects in a realistic light
>have a comprehensible plot

>could be comedic, but should not be about shitty gags or something else
>is not a medical drama

I think I'm starting to grow tired of the formula that all these movies follow. I did think the crab song was catchy though.
Disney know what works so they reuse that formula again and again again. Still, nice animation though

Michael Bay is the modern Hitchcock
i agree, hitchcock is garbage
>>79585693
I'll hear you out. Why is he the modern Hitchcock?
>>79585709
They're both extremely gifted and influential on a technical level while making emotionally shallow films that are despised by critics (with the exception of The Lodger, Hitchcock was hated until the late 50s) but go over very well with audiences.

Bunuel's surrealism has a discreet charm.
