I liked it.
I think critics disliked it for a stupid reason.
You?
It's decent except for the end was a cop out because audiences cant' handle a non-happy ending. How it should have ended:
>Pratt dies
>Lawrence goes through a period of alone grieving, gradually getting worse
>Finds Pratt's info on how he woke her up
>Ends with her staring at some other guy's tube, debating on if she should make the same decision that she condemned Pratt for

>I think critics disliked it for a stupid reason.
Actually I'm inclined to agree.
When you really boil it down critics dislike it because a main character does something 'questionable'. Every female critic was already off board.
I mean, I feel this is an 'if the roles had been reversed' movie, guarantee you some of the negative critics would have given it a pass.

Ayyy, that would have been a bretty neat ending desu, senpai.

She does make a good point about having clean streets in a world without shoes though. Just imagine how clean the streets and sidewalks would be if we somehow didn't have shoes.
I still haven't gotten through the entire video

Just marathoned a minute of that video. I can't go any further.
Is it time for a modern remake?

So you're a 12-year-old kid and not only you do see It as Pennywise the Clown, nobody else does. You know you're not crazy or hallucinating. Several kids in your town have already mysteriously disappeared or turned up dead; all pointing to that freakish clown. What's worse is that the adults and authorities can't help you. Pennywise has control over them and can even turn them against you if it wants.
So how do you stay alive? Can It get you if you move away from the town? Because at first, that's what I would consider, but the novel implies that It might have killed Stan Uris even though he was in Georgia. So it's not like dealing with Freddy Krueger and you're safe outside of Springwood. So can Pennywise track you down if you moved to Castle Rock, another of Stephen King's fictional towns in Maine?
You could make damned well sure that you are NEVER alone. You're always in public whenever you can and surrounded by lots of people because It doesn't seem able to kill you in front of multiple witnesses. But there's always going to be a point where you WILL be alone. Even being with a few people say 4 or 5 doesn't guarantee It won't try to kill you. I'm talking at least 20 or more.
Also, does It kill passers-by? The book establishes that it's preyed on Derry residents for centuries, but say the 4 kids from The Body (Stand by Me) travel through Derry. A lot of Stephen King's books share the same universe. Does Pennywise kill them if it gets the chance or does it only seek out Derry kids?

flick only turns a profit because chinese people loved it. sequel gets greenlit because chinese people made the first film profitable. so in order to make sure the chinks won't watch the sequel they cast the sweaty negro that made them ignore force awakens as the lead.
what were they thinking?

There will be enough CG thingamabobs flying about on screen they won't care, they're not going to see people, they're going for special effects.

The difference between you and a "professional critic" is that they own a blog. Why aren't we cutting out the middleman again? Professional reviewers only exist because you couldn't compile user scores in a pre internet era.
We had one of these threads the other day and it was actually pretty good. Finally saw /tv/ discussing some avant-grade and arthouse kino which cannot be a bad thing so lets do it again. Made this OP pic inspired by an argument that happened in the first thread

What was Spielberg trying to convey with the red coat?
The sign of communism being defeated by fascism.
A young girl walking through a black and white street in a bright red coat ... it stands out, yet no one even looked at her. It was a metaphor for how everyone just seemed to ignore the obvious when it came to the rounding up of jews in Nazi Germany.
