Getting kicked in the nuts hurts like all hell though. I always get triggered every time a movie plays it off as comedic moment

Am I the only faggot that liked Kate and Claire more than thoses bitches Juliet "Frozen Face" and Alex "Retard Face"? I hated Juliet and Alex in Season 3because they seemed to be being bitches to Based Ben for no reason besides that sixth sense that knowing who are the bad guys of the show because of the scriptand kept on hating after learning their motives after that just because I hated her faces
>that scene where the Mumakils charge Theoden's line
>the quiet before the ominous pounding of the drums in the distance, camera cutting from Theoden's face to see the creatures on thw horizon
>the tired look on Theoden's face turned to resolve when calling the charge
>the camera pull out as you see them go head on towards the Mumakil line
>shot trackes their increased pace as they rumble through ranks of orcs
>that intense as fuck camera zoom as the two armies meet and then finally
>crash
>next three minutes of straight carnage, no music, only the roars of war beasts and steel
Holy fuck this scene makes me so goddamn hard
Also, we need a comfy LOTR thread

That was one of the first movie theater experiences I had that still sticks with me. The loud stomps, the chanting, and that horn were just perfect.

I don't think there ever has been a scene with such a technical level in fantasy as this one. Movie is over a decade old and this still looks fantastic. I usually cringe at calling shit kino, but fucking hell this was kino.
So this was actually really good. I was somewhat weary of the idea of Scarlet Johansson being in this but she's actually OK in the role.
Why haven't more people watched this? Is it because it is not out in the US?
>>81179382
fuck off shill
>>81179382
It launched on Friday. It's not being watched because 1) it's getting panned by critics 2) not that many normies are going to see it because of the lack of name value/interest in it plus the above 3) the fans of the franchise aren't going to see it because it's a travesty
It's probably more well known for its controversy than for just being Ghost in the Shell.
>>81179382
people in the US don't watch movies unless their Rotten Tomato overlords tell them it is OK, which let's face it, is only marvel/disney flicks.

What's the worst movie ever?
For me it's Jack and Jill.
Transformers 2. It had Shia Lebouf, and this was back when he was far more aggravating since Hollywood was trying to force him as a leading man. I don't mind him now that he's a silly meme. Additionally, it had terrible humor, action scenes which were meaningless eye rape and a horrendous plot which was established with like two minutes of dialogue. Hands down the worst movie experience of my life. It felt like watching a child play an extremely shit mecha video game for two hours.
>>81178217
Watchmen directors cut. Not even memeing. If ther response you get to a film is you need to read the source material its fucking shit.

Before you fags jump up and shout "SOURCE MATERIAL!" let me tell you why I think it was good.
It succeeded in doing EXACTLY what it was trying to do, an action movie themed off of a popular anime. They werent trying to make the best anime adaptation ever, and they certainly werent trying to copy paste the story over either.
I love the original GitS just as much as anyone else but this movie is not trying to replicate the damn anime! They set out to make a movie that can appeal to your average joe westerner and make an entertaining action movie from a Japanese IP and thats exactly what they did.
Yes, its not the movie we all wanted, but its the movie we deserve. If it was all story then the western demographic wouldve shit on it, calling it boring and slow etc etc. Then we would never see things like this ever again. Further leading to Japan thinking that there is no market in america for japanese/anime things.
With that out of the way, Heres what I enjoyed:
I went and saw it in 4D IMAX and wow it was fucking incredible.
Hands down best cgi ive seen in a movie in YEARS.
The way they created the atmosphere of the city with all the projection ads whats just amazing.
Scar Jo too, she makes a very good Motoko, looks wise, even if she is white. Though her voice isnt as (flat?) as I wouldve liked. (following the anime motoko)
Personally the only like "aw man" moment of the movie was how short the fight was with the garbage guy. In the anime it was a lot more of a chase you know? Also in the anime his gun is fucking SICK! Mac-10 looking gun that was breaking because of the rounds in it. But in the movie the gun was like a cutout of a plastic sheet, It was innovative but I just didnt think it was that cool.
Discuss.

>Then we would never see things like this ever again.
Good
>>81177913
>Yes, its not the movie we all wanted, but its the movie we deserve
unironically stopped reading here. kill yourself.
Id say it was a good 7/10.
Scarjo I feel fits the look, but her portrayal of the Major switched too much between very emotional and then very robotic.
Also the scene where she meets the old woman and the woman tells her about her daughter felt incredibly forced.
It could have also helped build the characters of Section 9 better, but it was apparently trying to specifically focus on the character of the Major so I guess thats understandable.
Also those consent lines were trash and should only have been used once twice at max.
What the fuck happened?
Morgan got her breasts reduced (should be a fucking felony)
Adam got addicted to cocaine
Very sad
Are there any TechTV personalities that are actually doing well? Leo Laporte's podcast network is a travesty and he keeps leaking his dick picks and porn history.
My childhood... remember the cheat show that came afterwards. Looking up cheats in a magazine
>several years of pirated content being rarely available in any format besides this shitty incompatible container
Does Hollywood really need to worry? So many edgy plebs thought this was better and cooler than MP4 that it's basically destroyed piracy from the inside out.

Where the fuck are you running your kino on? Your TV USB port?
Build a server you pleb.

>There's seemingly more opportunities than ever for writers in Hollywood, between movies, TV and new digital services. But if the Writers Guild of America is not able to agree to a new contract before May, it all could come to a screeching halt, nearly a decade since the union's last strike that lasted 100 days and carried a billion-dollar price tag.
>The 20,000-member WGA is asking for higher wage minimums to compensate for what they see as lost work.
>According to the Hollywood Reporter, the episode-per-series tally dropped to an average of 13.2 in 2014-15, down from 18.8 three years earlier. TV writers earned an average of $194,478 in 2015 and film writers earned an average of $181,267 that same year, according to an earnings report released by WGA last summer.

>$194,478 per year
>$181,267 per year
I will never understand how people could possibly complain while making wages like this. I make ~$120,000 a year right now and I literally have more money than I know what to do with. I grew up poor, so maybe that has something to do with it, but even still this just seems so ridiculous to me.

Gotta have dem dere multiple properties in prime locations to rent slave people.
Now that the dust has settled, what's the consensus on this flick? I personally enjoyed it, mainly for the action. It was decent.
Better than TFA
Production design is next level, really good. But the boring af first 2/3's barely justify the cool shit at the end.
>>81176702
Best film of the franchise to date. Loved the CGI characters and how it seamlessly ties in the A New Hope. It was wicked.
Now it's over, what did /tv/ think?
that i'll wait for at least the 720p version, not have to burn my eyes and humilating Black Sails wby watching the first shitty 160p stream
I've been one of the few who have always said what a great show it was. When they introduced the faggot storyline I wasn't bothered because it was a fraction of the show and wasn't brought up again. Well, it was brought up again. That's how they close the show.
Oh, remember how Flynt's a homo...kinda? Maybe Bi. I mean, Mrs. Barlow...Oh, Guess what. His once thought dead butt buddy is actually alive an we end the show with a big fat faggot reunion and Flynt gave up his war to live happily ever ass fucking on a plantation after.
Fuck this fucking show for wasting my fucking time with this shitty writing. Wasted potential. Yes, I am incredibly mad.
>>81176809
Are you fucking serious? Glad I stopped at the end of Season 3
Hopefully Outlander season 3 won't be a clusterfuck (it will be)
