Why do the blankets and bedclothes in film always only consist of what is basically the case or blanket-cover for the actual blanket?
Is this some american thing? I think they do this in british film too, though. Can someone explain this to me, because it just ruins immersion and i can't come up with a good reason for why they would do this in a film, especially those that try to be authentic
PLEASE RESPOND
Is this some sort of autism thing?
>>81946864
Why autism? Literally every movie does this and after years and decades of seeing it i just had to fucking ask what exactly is up with this. You can't tell me it's not noticeable as fuck whenever there's a movie with a scene of 2 people in bed. Or even just one.
why David, why?
>bothering with a Ridley film post 2005
What is happening here?

david is dropping goo-bombs onto the engineers' planet (my best guess)
I finally got to see this movie. Why exactly does /tv/ hate it?
/tv/ gets triggered by the BBC
I enjoyed it for what it was, even if the premise is ridiculous
muh sjw white genocide or something
Replace all the Caucasians with Jews, and then replace the black people with Caucasians. Now imagine that a mixed-race couple are invited up to a nice, out-of-state town but the Caucasian man suspects that fellow Caucasians are being abducted by his girlfriend's Jewish parents and turned into slaves using hypnosis.
Do you think Jews would be in an uproar that "their people" are being represented in such a manner?
Hypocrisy, OP. Miles upon miles of hypocrisy. "But anon, you caaaiiin' be racis' against WHITE PEOPLE!" Oh yes, you can. It's part of a much larger scheme. Perhaps some day when you figure out that scheme, OP, you'll be as exceptionally-intelligent as I am.
What does /tv/ think of TheFlickPick? This is how I feel.
Pros
>Genuine guy
>Weird as fuck
>entertaining vlogs
>good taste in movies, popcorn flicks at least
>takes care of himself
Cons
> Less than or equal to Stuckmann/Jahns-tier reviewing ("geek hype")
>Sponsor shill
>Lazy as fuck
>Inconsistent
I know this board shits on Stuckmann, but Chris is kind of a phony/sham. Flickpick just seems like a good, weird dude.
Pro-tip: if you feel the need to ever show your face when reviewing another person's work, then you've already lost.

Why's that? Expression and visuals can help get across what you're trying to say.
>>81946475
Yessss, because the pitch & tone of one's voice and emphasis on particular words have never done such a job before, right?

Why is she so great at playing autistic characters?
It's sad that she's nearing her expiration date.

>Reddit's essential female actress
I used to live next door to Summer Glau. She would wave to me while outside watering her grass
Thoughts?
Hopper going from disgruntled cop to punching everyone made zero sense
Overall 7/10

Felt like it started off good, then they realized the trajectory of their story arc was such that they would have needed 30 more episodes to tell their story, so they ended up having shit be revealed with "suddenly, exposition! NOW I UNDERSTAND!" moments and characters drawing connections that weren't well foreshadowed.
Overall the good vastly out-weighted the bad, I hope there's going to be more and I hope it'll be good, but I also have to think the main cast of characters and their stories are basically done with and there'll have to be a time skip (since the actors will have aged).
I didn't really like the ending, but I also set myself up for disappointment because my expectation was that the alien monsters were the victims and the CIA were the aggressors, and that their total incomprehensibility (due to being ayyys) would mean that we weren't making each other understood and that the psychic chick would be the bridge between our two species.
But no, the ayys are just evil, world devouring Tyranid-like monsters that can some how assimilate matter from our world even though the environment they live in is poison to us, yet somehow our world isn't poison to them.
the little girl's face pisses me off, i hope godzilla fucking steps on her in the new movie

Elves, Santa Claus, Christmas Vacation 2
>actors have great chemistry
>well choreographed action scenes (for western standards)
>superheroes actually are muscled bound freaks with high testorone
>character arcs occur
>$770m in one week
Disney BTFO. This is how you do fantasy on a $250m budget
Damn I didn't realize the budget was that high. Furious 7 was 190. That's quite a hike. Surprised they had so much faith in this one despite the loss of Walker.
>>81945867
Paul Walker's nice, but the film still has the Rock, Vin Diesel and Statham. Not only that, it was a well-filmed action movie. You can't just rely on star power.
>>81945867
they know the target audience and make films they want whilst not being neutral mediocre directed garbage.

Now that the dust has settled and The Wire and The Sopranos have aged like milk, can we all agree that this is actually the best show that HBO has ever produced?
