Try and use actual, explanatory numbers instead of your craptastic Paint®©™ skills. I have no idea what your itinerary is supposed to look like.
Where are you starting, in which direction are you going? I have no clue whatsoever here.

hi,
Im in a bit of a problem here /trv/, I spent about 3 years uni studying Comp Sci and due to some unforseen circumstances I wont be able to continue. I had planned on doing my masters at a German uni but now considering my situation Im thinking of applying for bachelors at a German uni, but my question is would German unis consider the past subjects taken during those years, would they acknowledge them somehow? or is is strictly forbidden?
>>1136900
which past subjects?

The study material i took for 3 years.. almost all computer science related.

I'm going to the US Virgin Islands by myself on Wednesday. I've traveled several times in the past, but never by myself. I'm actually pretty nervous. I have no idea what I will do there. I just saw flights were cheap and I got a really nice, seafront hotel room with a balcony. But I don't know what to do.
Any tips for traveling alone?
try not to get yourself into a problem, be sane and respect local people
I don't know what you can do at US Virgin Islands, but since it's Caribbean I would do some outdoors stuff, such as diving, of course regarding all safety rules.
BTW How much was the ticket?
>>1136882
When I booked them, they were about $320 round trip. And I had a credit with United Airlines so I'm flying 1st Class down there.
Of course I won't cause any problems. I'm more of a quiet person anyways.

I am a student taking a summer course in France right now. Before I came here, I was expecting to stay with a host family who will show you around town based on my previous experiences. My current host family is not into showing us around town. The food they cook for us tend to be the ones easiest to prepare and I cannot help but think that living with this French family does notbreslly allow me to gain an insight into French culture.
I was hoping to learn more about French culture and I don't think will happen by staying with this host family. This host family accepts a lot of kids from around the world at one time and I can't help but notice how people tend to befriend other people who speak the same language as them. Everyone is fluent in different languages. This disappoints me as I was hoping to befriend everyone not where as soon as I speak one language someone will always be excluded.
How to feel better about this?
Are you 15? Get your shit together and go discover France by yourself
Also in general people will tend to stick together with others of their own nationality, specially people from the Mediterranean countries, you don't have hang out with your nationals.. I'm assuming you're a native English speaker, which I always thought it's the worst for learning other languages through immersion.. If you wanna learn French and discover the French culture just go by yourself, maybe one of your friends want to join you, so how I said unless you're 15 you better get your shit together.
Where are you in France op?

I am 20. We are in a small city and there isnt much to see here

I am Chinese-American and I speak both Chiense fluently. There are Chinese and English speaking kids at our host family along with some Europeans who only speak French and their local language. When I speak Chinese, the English speakers will be excluded and when I speak English, the Chinese guy doing his degree in France will be excluded. So annoying
i would like to get a complete ENGLISH translation of what is on the board and the sign please so i can start search action on the internet for the exact location of this place.
from what I gather, this may be the Garrison museum.

Anyone have a preferred Traveler's Credit Card?
I plan on coming back to the states in about three years, I would like a card to tide me over until I'm at least a few paychecks into my new job.
What are your experiences?

>I plan on coming back to the states in about three years, I would like a card to tide me over until I'm at least a few paychecks into my new job.
Uhhh, don't spend money you don't have if you are unemployed. Travel as a reward for hard work, not on loan.

I begin my new job when I get there. I meant that I need a card to pay off apartment and startup costs.

through Šumava park south, to salzburg and this year phase of trip should end in Hohe Tauern.
We have month. Not much money..
We are both pretty unexperienced and low equipped. What are your suggestions? We are especially interested in prizes of common travel food and tips to good views etc. But we dont want to climb.
All sugestions welcome.

This may not be the right place to ask this, but do you guys know of anywhere in the Middle East that would be good (and cheap) to learn Arabic?
I was looking at the Eton Institute in Dubai, as it's not too expensive and seems pretty good. Dubai doesn't seem like a very fun place to spend a few weeks though... I mean like organised programs rather than just living out there in a hostel or something as I'd probably just end up speaking English the whole time.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to word this question
Basically, I'm wondering which large cities are liked by a high percentage of people who travel and live there. It seems like even top destinations (including but not limited to London, Paris, Tokyo, NYC, Hong Kong, Chicago, Toronto) have a long list of people who dislike them. If you mention you're travelling to one of those cities you will almost certainly find people who say "It's overrated" or "I didn't care for it". However, I rarely hear a bad word about Prague or Amsterdam.
I guess what I'm asking is: which city do you think is the most universally loved, and also, which city seems to always get a ton of unjustified flak?
>>1134928
Chiang Mai, what's there to hate? other then too many digital noamds
I rarely hear anything bad about Copenhagen and Stockholm. Same with Amsterdam as you mentioned.
>>1134928
>and also, which city seems to always get a ton of unjustified flak?
I was really pleasantly surprised by my visit to Cleveland a few years back. I went there for a wedding and while I wouldn't make a point of visiting it just for tourism, if you're going there anyway for whatever reason checking out the city is really fun.
Which docs/films about traveling does /trv/ recommend?
I recently watched A Map for Saturday which was very well done
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=A+Map+for+Saturday
All of Michael Palin's travel documentaries are great. The Hemingway one isn't that good unless you like Hemingway though.

I really enjoy the Top Gear specials...
An Idiot Abroad.
Bit of an unorthodox show of course but it's funny.
Rick Steves if I want to go in depth and get some history in aswell.

Disney Theme Park general
Feel free to ask about any Disney theme park. Rides worth going on etc.
I work at Disney World, so feel free to ask anything and I'll answer to the best of my ability.
Of you have Minecraft there is a huge server rebuilding everything wdw at a 1:1 scale (closes you can I suppose). Mcmagic I believe.

if you are still there, best time to go? Want low wait times.

Are prices getting lower because of the Orlando shootings? It's always expensive as all fuck even in the off-peak times.
doe's anybody go bicycle touring?
i have cycled over 19,000 miles.
seen & learnt so much that ive forgotten most of my travels.
I'd love to but the roll on my bike is very inefficient since it's cheap so you need to be constantly putting more energy in than is actually needed. Tried oiling but it only works for a short while.
Otherwise I've been thinking about just biking to another country, maybe some ones next to those but it's pretty lengthy if I get tired after like 60km a day.
Are your legs super strong?
what setup are you using? my bike just got stolen so I was thinking of saving up for a surly LHT.
So after a very unfortunate turn of plans resulting in missing Bonnaroo this year, I now have an excess of money saved up and an intense need to get out of the South. I live in North MS and I'm taking the next year off before I go off to a major university, so I've been loosely planning on road tripping to the west coast, but I'm having a little bit of a difficulty planning out the places I definitely should hit on the way there.
What are some recommendations of places I definitely should see? What places out west are completely overrated in your opinion?
Also, has anyone visited Sedona, AZ before? Is it worth stopping by in my trip or not really?
>>1136633
Hit some other festivals. Look into wayhome, its in canada bit the same people who organize bonnaroo run that as well. Itll be the 2nd year for that fest.
Just sayin, since i went to roo solo this year and had one of the best times of my entire life.
>>1136635
It's cool for the geological features and nature. The city itself is a pseudo-hippy newage bullshitfest.
