its strange...
Peace walker used to be my least favorite MGS game, but it is growing on me more and more..
i understand the gameplay isnt great, but the story is there
and its not AS condeluded as other mgs stories
id say i rank my favorites as follows
mgs1,mgs2,peace walker mgs3
that said
im pretty convinced i want the big boss figure from peace walker in his forest fatigues
anyone caare to share their pictures of him?
https://youtu.be/fO_5R_DMCJA
Good fucking luck, dude is expensive now.
I had him a few years back before a particularly awful move ruined my life. Here's the only one of him I was able to get.

2010/2011 picture taken on an actual shitty 20$ digital camera I had gotten 3 years prior. No excuse but it was what I had at the time.

even though its a crap camera its still a badass picture
what happened?
did you just decide to sell him or?
what led to that
Greetings /toy/,
I am interested in making some of my art work come to life. I have been researching different ways to make toys and have decided to incorporate a modular peg system similar to Glyos, Figma, and other similar interchangeable peg systems.
So far here are the two resources that I have found helpful, with the first two links to a companies explanation, but helpful nonetheless:
Using Silicone molds and Polyurethanes:
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnY86LIHf_I
Book on making toys:
Other than that though, youtube and google haven't exactly provided me with the best resources... or I am searching for incorrect terms.
On that note I am hoping that some of you may be able to point me to other useful sources of information.
P.S. I was going to put some of my concept art up as the picture for the thread, however I decided against it, since I don't want my ideas taken my someone who isn't as respectful as many of you are here on /toy. Finally, I prefer to keep it a secret until I make a hard/play-with-able copy.

You need to give more info on what you mean by making a toy. Do you have a budget? What's the suppose size of the toy. Can you make a physical sample of you art work , it doesn't even need to move , but it need to be in physical 3D form and not 2d picture . , if you can not do the above step then you need to learn how to do that first .
Bumping for interest
Come on! Anyone? I literally want TOY story TOYS.
terrible film
>>5378787
The Toy Story Collection series at TRU is pretty solid
Thanos leg MOD, a while ago I saw someone had modded the baf Thanos so his legs worked right there was pictures and a diagram etc. I wonder if anyone has them still, I try google but I did not find it.
There's no instructions to the mod. Just shave the plastic so the peg connected to the balljoint has more room to move
>>5379913
Yeah I did on the ultron baf but its a bit too loose now soni wanted to see the pictures of the way the guy shaved thanks since I'm about to try it on him next. Just thought someone had it still, so I'll wait and see.

Sorry for the shitty quality its my tablet, but here are some pics
Post your dream unmade Hot Toys figure
>>5372072
never bought hot toys, but this would be the dream
Would have been Fassneto, but there's already a pretty decent 3rd party figure on the way.
A continuation of the TRON line.

January Challenges:
>Day after the New Years party. Make a diorama of your characters hungover as shit and shocked at the things they did the night before.
>Take a new 2016 set and build something ONLY using pieces from it.
>Benis (Best Entry: Ninjas in Swimwear)
>Freedom is great. Build a diorama of a villain escaping prison or guarded transport with/without the help of henchmen.
>A bar for your minifigs to drink at for the New Years party.
>Finish that unfinished MOC from 2015!
>>5383794
I'm not familiar with that one but it does look an awful lot like what I'm making.
I kidnapped one of my Imperial officers to lead a Stormtrooper squad. Now I can't even remember what set he came in.
>>5383996
How many powers are currently on the Lego website? There's this one just lying in the open, but are there any that are better-hidden?
Hey /toy/,
I'm really new to this subject, and am looking for some opinions
Where should i start looking for figurines, figma, dolls... im not even sure what term to use.
I want some anime merch to put inside my PC case, and im looking to stay away from the pose able kind. Do they have a specific name?
TL;DR where to buy pretty things? pic related
>>5386580
The best place to look would be amiami.com, but I'm afraid that statues/non-poseable figures aren't actually allowed to be discussed here.
Gashapon and collectables like that are fine, however.
Why statues in particular, OP?
>>5386580
Go ask /a/ buythread
>>5386585
Oh, my apologies. /jp/ pruned my thread and told me here was the place.
Anywhere on chan to talk about non-poseables?
Why haven't any of the Ray Harryhausen monsters ever been made into SA figures like Monster Arts, Revoltech, hell even NECA? License problems? Are there even figures out there?
>Venus Monster
>Cyclops
>Gwangi
>Beast from 20,000 Fathoms
>>5386366
I think the Revoltech Skeleton Army is the only modern example, but there's been unarticulated figures by X-Plus and Gentle Giant in the past. Also the Clash of the Titans movie line by Mattel. I agree with you though, we need some S.H.MonsterArts or something.
>>5386366
would be really cool but i feel like most companies would think they wouldnt make enough profit vs how much it cost to make them.
>>5386366
GWANGI... NEVER
The left arm on this thing is an abomination.
>Barbell wrist joint breaks almost immediately
>Superglue that shit back together, looks like shit now
>Try to remove arm for swappable arm feature
>Entire arm assembly comes out instead, falling apart like legos
>No reason for any of it to even be separate pieces as far as I can tell, none of it snaps back together like it looks like it should
>Have to superglue that shit back too, takes multiple times to work just like the wrist
>Superglue all over the fucking figure now, try to use nail polish remover to get rid of it
>The only thing it removes is the chrome finish

What really happened
>OP rips the box apart
>grabs the figure
>uses his Gorilla strength to tear the hand off
>Realizing his mistake, he uses his Gorilla Strength Gorilla Glue
>Rips the arm off thinking it comes off at the shoulder
>Glues it
>Gets turned on at his crippled mazinger
>Hotglues it
>His cum is acidic and removes the chrome finish
And his name was greg
>>5382289
I have the original release and never had any problems exchanging arms or hands.
>Superglue all over the fucking figure now
This is proof that you're hamhanded as fuck.
>>5382313
So I've heard before.
The only place the glue is really noticeable is on the arm itself and the right shoulder. Shit sticks to your fingers, man, comes off even when you think it's all dry. It ain't like I just closed my eyes and squeezed the tube
Finished this series a bit ago, would like to get something of the titular mecha, maybe something of the characters.
Was anything released actually any good? Model Kits? Figures? Possibly statues?
Thanks in advance, /toy/

What's the best Snake figure?
>>5369624
They all have their problems. I like the GZ variant of that and the figma myself.
>>5369624
Just bit the bullet on a Peace Walker Snake PAK. Thought it didn't have too much of that over-shadowing they usually have in the paint. We'll see next tuesday I guess.
>>5369624
Either version of the Revoltech Snake is arguably the best in terms of articulation, accessories, and likeness for Naked Snake/Big Boss. The figma Solid Snake, while notorious for shit paint apps in the face, is still the best representation of Solid in 1/12 thus far. The Revolminis are quite good as well but they're in 1/18 scale.
Was Valve's licensing too much for Neca too afford? How come the Blizzard toys ended up so much better?
>>5384847
This. They should probably play the source material for a good toy line.
>>5384847
Agreed when they started L4D with the zombs they sealed that lines fate. How do popular zombie hunting human characters not sell, but then turn around and do twilight, hunger games and harry potter figures to target teen girls?
Why did mods delete >>5384847?
Neca themselves admitted as much.
So what was the turbo man of toys this christmas?

>popular with kids
Probably this.
