Did you even attempt to check the archive?

What does /tg/ think of Thrilling Intent? It's certainly not as big as Critical Roll, but I think it has a lot of love behind it.

It's really boring to watch other people roleplay.

Just roleplay yourself.

>>54267346
This has nice character cutouts though.
>>
Sort of related to the topic, would you be willing to compose an actual song for the characters of your group? One of the PCs is a bard and the person that plays him makes music based off of other notable characters in the game.

How do you feel about meta humor and breaking the fourth wall in games?

Good for joke campaigns, bad for serious ones.
>>
Only bards should be allowed to do this and only in a tasteful manner.
>>
>>54265615
Depends how fourth wall breaking. Acknowledging skill applications isnt so bad as knowing that the world is a tabletop game and that the one true god is the gm and that god is a dick. Joke campaigns are fine for it though, while serious games with a bit of humour would require a more restrictions and self control.

I'm a veteran GM for games like Pathfinder and D&D, however I'm starting new campaign with new players and would like some sort of quick refrence sheet i can hand them to familiarize themselves with the terms without having to hold a full on tutorial on the jargon of the game.

Kingdoms, mostly consisting of a palace and the close environment. The centers of the kingdoms are Palace fortresses, which are also often the center of big cities. More powerful kings have weaker kings of cities as vassals.

Aristocrats serve as cavalry, the lower classes as hoplites and skirmishers

I want to get a sisters army.

But fuck GW prices and having an all-metal army.

So recasters are my only option.

What do? GeeDubs have gotten them removed from Aliexpress and other sites I can think of, and I can't find sisters anywhere.

Please advise.

I camped out on eBay for six months and have almost everything I'd ever want for a Sisters/Inquisition force. I've even gone as far as converting the Seraphim and St. Celestine with big metal angel wings, Sanctioned Psykers, an Inquisitor, 10 Flagellants converted into Priests ( which I can't use because they invalidated my mad plan to make a stupid deathstar squad in a Land Raider ) but I'm still so salty about GW shitting in our mouths with that eCodex a few years back that I haven't done any more work on the army.

Years of foreverGMing seem to mess me up a little bit.

When I've got an opportunity to join campaign as a player, I've discovered, that instead of making a character, I create plot-hooks for GM with some bare-bones personality as an excuse for those hooks. I've never had a problem with creating and roleplaying NPCs, but for some reason I can't develop a full-fledged character to play. Or at least that's how it seems to me.

For making NPCs I've always came up with minimal information about their notable details in appearance, mannerisms, social status, goals, motivations, and I developed complexity as much as players interacted with characters. For some reason I've got a feeling that as a force of habit I'm creating NPC instead of PC.

And that's why I want to ask you a question.

What is your way of creating a player character?

Why do you need a fully fleshed-out character?
>>
>>54264894

Err, you do exactly the same thing but get far more of an opportunity to develop that because you'll play them over a long period whereas most NPC's are only in a few scenes.

Though I know as a GM I go the full hog when I create a character because compared to writing an entire meticulously crafted sandbox adventure it's easy mode.

Usually when I make a character I write a 750 word bio , 3000 words of basic backstory and a further 10k words of a short story involving my character. I also bring props for my character, speak exclusively in character , describe all my actions beautifully and roleplay perfectly to the point other players have started to think my character is a real person at the table.

Wouldn't know where to start with DnD, Hunter x Hunter characters are just too versatile/broad to stick him into one class. You'd be better off in M&M

Not a magical plague or some aberrant disease but just the simple old common cold?

I ask as I'm always trying to work out ways to ground the game in the real world so the players actually start treating it as such and I realise I've never in a game seen a player get the sniffles before which is a common experience for all of us.

The reason you never see this is because if you're playing DnD or one of it's derivatives, curing the cold instantly is as easy as a level 2 Paladin's Lay on Hands or a level 1 spell slot for Cure Disease from the party caster.

I don't see how this would add AT ALL to a fun experience.

Well it helps to create a more grounded one. Say the players are caught in a rainstorm what incentive do they have to seek shelter? One would be that they might get sick from it.

It also helps naturally create some downtime as a character recovers which is always welcome.

Does anyone know any good sites or recommended methods for making your own custom DM screen? I've found sites that make custom-made wooden ones, but I was thinking more along the lines of the "harder paper" ones, ala 5e or One Ring RPG, but with a custom image on the front. Any advice would be appreciated.

So I've been looking all over the place for character sheets for Blade of the Iron Throne but I can't seem to find any at the moment that still work. Any help would be great, as this is a pretty crazy awesome RPG but making a character takes so long without a sheet.

I know the most popular one is PTU/A but I'm liking Pokerole.

Depends on whether you want to focus on gamism, simulationism, or narrativism.
>>
>>54263183
What would you say the main differences are between the two? What don't you like about PTU/A that you like about Pokerole?

Never tried either, but I'm interested to hear your opinions.

Has anyone tried these skirmish/party building wargames and how did they play?

I am looking to run one of them for some sort of narrative campaign with 3-4 squads and I was wondering if anyone had experience with them.

Scrappers has a setting but Rogue Stars is much more ambiguous, did you just run a homebrew one? I know people have made a number of humorous Rogue Stars squads like Dead Space and Star Wars themed, but I was looking to run something a little more straight faced.

Also here's some character inspo

I'm really not a fan of rogue stars. I am normally a lover of anything by Andrea sfiligoi, but I think he dropped the ball on these rules.

Sure they are designed around very small bands of like 4-6 models in mind, but it's just way too granular to be a smooth skirmish game. There is so much token tracking it's distracting.

I really wanted a sci-fi skirmish game of "bring your own minis and stat them how you want" but rogue stars seems like it's trying too hard. Luckily though he is working on another game called Harder than Steel, and it's meant to use the Song of Blades and Heroes game engine (which is one of my all time favorite games) so I am looking forward to that, but it's still under development.

Just picked up this game. Liking it a lot so far, I wanted to try out the co-op campaign with a friend, but I've heard that the co-op experience is rather lackluster.

Do you not have the story quests and unique victory conditions in the co-op campaign? Is the co-op campaign worth playing? I've heard you can't coop as the same faction. Is it fun to go as Dwarfs/Empire or Chaos/Beastmen?

It's just hard to get someone to reliably play with you. What little of the coop that i've played is quite fun

Personally, i've played orks/vamps and had a good time but beastmen/chaos seems like it'd be really fun on higher difficulties
