A living wall begins giving birth to human foetuses, and nursing them.

As they grow older, they have become almost like a tribe of feral humans. They begin raiding nearby settlements and kidnapping villagers to feed to the wall. Pregnant woman are especially valued.

Well, if the theme we're going for is horror/magical realm...
>Demons of gluttony emerge from a "naturally" occurring hellgate, possessing the populace and causing extreme hunger. The infected begin to eat more and more to the point where they bloat to massive sizes and devour anything within reach, including trees, inanimate objects, medium sized animals, and the uninfected. Sometimes they even chew.

I'm in.

The wallmen produce everything they need from the body of the mother wall. Its dead patches of skin become their leather, its teeth their tools and weapons.

Young wallmen are hairless, and unnaturally pink and veiny, but their skin looks more human as they mature. With a wig, a wallman might be able to pass for a feral human... if not for their distinctive, potent odor.

The Grand Cathedral of Beletek, god of justice and mercy, has been the second-tallest building in the empire's capital since memory. The clerics, in their distinctive black and violet robes, have been as long respected as the empire's arbiters of law and charity.

Three months ago, the grand priest was stricken by a mysterious fever, which soon spread to his acolytes.

Two months ago, the cathedral sealed its doors in a quarantine of the clergy, allowing in only those parishioners already infected.

One month ago, the windows of the tallest tower began billowing thick, black smoke. The smog poured ceaselessly, day and night. Occasionally, the sound of bells echoed through the city.

Today, just before dawn, the smoke stopped, and the gates opened. Nobody has come out yet, and nobody has been bold enough to enter.

Hello /tg/!

I recently started reading Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun and got inspired to run a DnD campaign based on it. The overarching storyline would be that the sun is dying and there is a cult trying to speed up the process.

The main question is how should I pull this off subtly, yet obvious enough to entertain the players and give a general impending doom feeling?
Also what effects would a cooling sun present on the planets ecosphere and magic? My idea is to fuck with some cleric and paladin powers that relate to the sun, thus giving a hook for the players to investigate.

Any ideas how could I make this truly remarkable?

Dark Sun campaign setting. A cult of wizards are trying to destroy the sun so they can use magically freely
>>

Sounds good. I'll look into that.
Any other advice for a relatively new GM on how to run this well?
>>
>>54271621
Killing the sun was an Illithid plot in old D&D, there's some material to be mined there.

>A chaos champion unites Norsca.
>After some preparation, the champion starts an invasion against the empire.

How threatening would this be for the empire?

Chaos already destroyed the planet and turned everyone into space marines.
>>

Doesn't this happen like every other wednesday?
>>
>>54271519
Considering during the Storm of Chaos a single High Elven fleet was killing literally thousands of Norscan warriors and plundering their coasts I don't think it'd be too much of a threat, if they could even leave their shores.

Sup /tg/

I need a little favor from you. Let's call it a small-scale usability test.

I'm going to list three names of necromantic spells, and give you no other information than that they're NOT just different names for the same spell. Without any further context, I'd like to ask of you, if you can, to briefly explain what you expect these spells to do and what the biggest differences between these spells might be.

>1
Requires bodies, brings a small group of them back from the dead classical zombie-style
>2
Does not require bodies, but still summons a small number of undead regardless
>3
Temporarily brings a single person back with their memories intact, requiring the body
>>
>>54271466
1
Resurrects one person as is. Won't heal any wounds or cure any ailments on its own. Caster has no control over said creature.
2
permanently animates a prepared assembly of bones/ corpse parts. Completely under caster's control.
3.
temporarily reanimates a corpse. this is treated as an undead creature completely under the caster's control.
>>
>>54271466
>Spell 1: Raise Dead
Animates the present or gathered remains of a once-living creature into a servile, mobile undead creature.

>Spell 2: Create Undead
Unifies an imprisoned spirit with a body, which can be the remains of a once-living creature as above or which could be something entirely different - a statue, a pile of different bones, whatever. Who knows what you can bind this thing into. The result is a new undead creature with the spirit animating the body.

>Spell 3: Awaken Corpse
Infuses the present or gathered remains of a once-living creature into an entirely new intelligence seemingly born out of thin air. The creature is undead but is not servile. If the remains are intact - if the brain is physically intact - the creature might have some memories of what composed it but it is not the same individual. You don't need a full corpse for this one but you need at least a skull.

Saw it yesterday. was a pretty good piece. Stat them.

Oh I got this:

Senator Armstrong, Heir Apparent
5RWU, Legendary Creature - Human Avatar

Trample, haste, indestructible

Once per turn, during your first main phase, you may have ~ fight each creature your opponents control, one at a time. For each creature destroyed as a result of this effect, ~ gets +X/+X, where X is its toughness, until the end of your turn.

Hello /tg/

I'm creatively bankrupt and a lazy shit so I need ideas for a simple campaign to test my game system on. Every time I try I always wind up with this 5+ year long epic that no one in their right mind would be able to keep up with. Here's the criteria

>It starts off comfy
>Involves travel, combat, and comfy.
>Can be wrapped up in a few 3 - 4hr sessions

The system has combat and non-combat classes, rules for travel and survival and enough downtime skills to keep busy without murderhoboing.

Ideas?

Greetings fellows
What about your playing space? One single table with chairs? A coffe table with some sofas? One or maybe more speakers for background music? Paper minis or better the plastic ones? Dice tray or GM screen bought or DIY? Or maybe not even using some of that.

Positive stories from attempted magical realms.

we hear horror stories from magical realms all the time. Awkward fantasies, Disgusting schennanigans, etc... But, what of the times a DM's/character's magical realm actually helped the party? Does such a Story exist?

Maybe the Furry druid Was obsessed with animal companions, and ended up saving the party with a wolf pack? Perhaps a Vorefag DM made a fantastic dungeon inside of a whale or dragon? Or, maybe just someone with a Domination fetish ended up capturing a BBEG because they had far more rope and chains than they should have.

Any stories?

The worst insult you can give a dragon is to call it a "worm", emphasizing you are not in fact using the draconic honorific of "wyrm".

Call a black dragon 3/5 of a dragon if you want to be cheeky.

"Your Father was a Gecko and your Mother was a spell component" -Kobold.

knife ear - elf

Boots - dragonborn

Anything with demonic annotations - tiefling or drow

Any halfrace (half elf or half orc) - halfbreed or Mixed or something like that.

>It may surprise you to discover that Aberrant is not a superhero game.

Why create a superhero game and then say it's not a superhero game?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>54267497
It's kind of the same thing with MnM, it has a superhero theme but with the innate variety that comic book characters come in (for better or worse) thanks to the four color rule or whatever, it (at least from what I know with MnM) leads itself to be adaptable to a lot of different settings and such, including sci fi or high fantasy adventures.
>>
>>54267497
That writer was a fucking asshole, whose opinion can be discarded, regardless of how much work they put into the game.
I mean, yes, 90s superhero stories could also get pretty far up their own ass, which is what Aberrant was going for, but the 'This is Not the Superfriends' intro is one of the five worst bits of White Wolf writing ever.
