>have family
>have friends
>have a home
>they get killed/destroyed on a cheap playerpunch
Reminder that a PC loyalty should be only to his party.
The communist party?
>>54282680
If the PCs are communists, yes.
>>54282563
>Have family
>Have friends
>Have a home
>DM isn't an edgleord faggot
>Party has a place to stay for free and gets to learn a bit about my character as a person next time we stop by his home.
Reminder that murder-hobo PCs who have no life outside the party's next dungeon run are boring as fuck and lead to games devolving into murder-hobo parades.
Should I bring my mandolin to a session when I play a bard? Or would that be obnoxios? I feel like it would be a fun addition, does anyone have any experience with people doing this?
This is frankly the kind of question you would be better off asking the group, and probably only after getting to know everyone. Personally, I'd say unless you're REALLY good at it and can play softly/subtly I'd just ask you leave the instrument at home. Listening to someone plucking random cords for several hours is pretty obnoxious and distracting.
>>54282429
I would love it personally, but I'm a sucker for traditional instruments anyway. If your group is fun then they should be fine with it.
>>54282429
depends on the setting honestly
how do you run bounty's in your games? my 5e party is likely gonna start the campaign by trying their hands at it.
also what are some of your bounty stories?
Pretty easy. Have an NPC sheriff or a guild factor let the PCs know about the bounties, and let them know to come to them for pay out. Have a few low level guys with small bounties, and maybe one big payout which will eventually lead to a greater story.
>>54282322
Bounty hunting campaigns are great, just make sure the party has some skill-focused character. If you're all playing burly meathead fighters or "explode entire army" wizards, you're not gonna have a very good time.
Bounty hunting works best when you focus on the build-up and investigation aspects. While one or two combat-gods to serve as the "muscle" of the group is nice to have, the real bulk of the early work is going to be left to the charisma characters who can maneuver their way into the seedy underworld of a place, who know who to talk to or bribe or sleep with to get information on someone... or the player who has tracking and stealth skills to tail somebody and start to piece together a bigger picture on how a certain person or group operates, or the Rogue who used to BE that sort of person, ect.

What about being the bounty?
Sup /tg/, 12 Towers anon here
Next week I'll be attending my first convention as a designer. It's the Fan World Convention in Niagara Falls (Canada/NY). I have four 2 hour slots over the weekend, Friday to Sunday.
Any tips or experiences with conventions anons would like to share? I definitely want to make a good first impression.
Shadow of the demon lord
Looking for the break down of boons and banes, statistically what the outcomes are, just to compare to other rpg's.
Been having issues with no initiatives/set turns for PC's and npcs. How much was SotDL play tested before release?
What's your problem with the combat turn structure?
So I'm sitting here trying to flesh out character/NPC ideas and concepts when I get to this one interesting case. So there's a female student at a magical school who loves nothing but to read about and study magic. All she does is reading while sitting in her comfy armchair. One of her traits i that she doesn't walk because why walk when you're skilled enough in levitation that you doesn't have to? And this leads me to the question: What kind of wounds and diseases would you get from malnutrition, no physical activity what so ever, sleep deprivation and sitting on your butt all day long?
Also general concept discussion thread, I guess.
>>54281591
Bedsores, obesity, hypertension, depression, eye strain, muscle atrophy, diabetes... come on anon, a quick google-search on "malnutrition" or "lack of activity" could have answered these for you.More to the point, if she's so magical she can just float everywhere, why hasn't she just made herself a construct body or something that won't suffer the drawbacks of being an organic meatsack?
>>54282104
OP had a picture of a pretty girl and needed an excuse to post it on /tg/.
>>54282163
Someone who sits around all day and takes less care of their body than the typical American isn't going to be a "pretty" girl.
How would one stat Kamina in D&D 5e? On the one hand he seems awfully paladinish (powers from belief, helping others, manly fighting spirit, CHA based, etc.), on the other hand he also acts a lot like a bard (inspiring others, CHA based, little to no armor, etc.), and on the other other hand none of the paladin oaths or bard colleges really seem to fit him expect for maybe valor bard.Yes, I know, another system would be better for this, but the thought experiment is only interesting to me because of how counter-intuitive it is.
>>54281446
Bard. Kamina's whole thing is that he could talk a big game and inspire people but was himself not actually that good at fighting. Simon's a paladin, he's the one who gets results. Kamina's only value is in inspiring others.
>>54281478
>not actually that good at fighting.
Well there was this scene.
>>54281494
So I've read the dornian heresy and thought about other alternative heresies. Specially I wonder about the emperor.
How would a Emperor heresy look like?
>>54281438
We've finally reached the conclusion of alternate heresy threads. Now this meme can finally die. Thank you for putting it to rest anon.
>>54281438
>dornian heresy
Wut? I require explanations.
>>54281438
I think that we had a thread or two about this couple years ago.
>>54281803
An alternative heresy projected done by Bolter and Chainsword, featured stuff like Black Templar Sons of Hours, Necron aligned Iron Hands and non-Chaos worshipping renegade Ultramarines with their own empire.
>Tyranids invade earth
>Scene of nameless mooks dying to Genestealers
>Doctor appears wearing a beret
>Evil human alien fighting team want to build a super dimensional nuke to kill the Tyranids
>no violence is bad stupid humans
>doctor discovers Tyranids are actually scared and running from an even greater threat
>Reasons with the hive mind that he can save them
>Rory makes a suggestion
>Immediately cucked by doctor
>Tyranids are actually running from the psychic manifestation of a ten year old alien boy trapped on earth
>companion gets themselves pointlessly in and out of trouble
>Doctor visits boy and gets his daddy to love him
>Hive mind eternally grateful to Doctor for stopping threat
>Tyranids return safely to their own dimension where they're actually peace loving herbivores
>Churchhill personally congratulates the doctor
>Rory still furiously masturbating to doctor railing his wife
>>54280959
seems like a legit dr who script
>>54280959
Typical Moffat script. Now RTD.....
>Everything is true up until the Hive being grateful to the Doctor
>Without the psychic bullshit, they can devour the entire Universe
>Daleks arrive to fight them for "Destroy Multiverse Rights"
>Companions all die
>Doctor blows everything to hell and gone, mortally wounded in the process
>Companions are resurrected
>Everyone outside the TARDIS or UNIT forget this adventure happened
>Doctor regenerates, end of season, everyone pairs off and leaves
An actual good idea for a season of Dr Who is the Doctor going to trial where he is held accountable for multiple genocides and murders and other such crimes. With the return of the Time Lords it's a possibility.
Due to extreme mitigating circumstances most of what he has done is permitted or pardoned and what can't be is excused to an extend on grounds of insanity.
He is allowed to keep the TARDIS and pick up lesser life forms as pets under the condition that he has a parole officer with him at all times.
A parole officer of their choosing to ensure it's not some gullible idiot who masturbates to the Doctors mere mention.
Preferably someone not from Earth who isn't instantly awed to the point of worship by the interdimensional equivalent of creepy white transit van.
Now Doctor can't just subliminally program humans to wipe out all of the species of The Silence down to the last man woman and child or do such shit as "trap someone in unbreakable neutronium chains to be imprisoned and immortal for all time" when a swift execution is an option.
In essence someone to call him out on his bullshit rather than just splooge in his foot steps.
I will be running a super hero themed campaign for a group of my friends in the near future. modern day, high flying, anime fight scene type shit generally going to be the norm.
I told people to take example of weeb shows like:
jojo's bizzare adventure
boku no hero academia
darker than black
needless
very generic "super hero" type shit.
what are super powers you guys would have?
is there a system that works best for these type of shenanigans?
what are some resources you guys know of that can help with building powers?
>what are super powers you guys would have?
Don't care. Use your own damn brain for that.
>is there a system that works best for these type of shenanigans?
Paranoia is actually an amazing system for freeform superpowers. You can use abilities and leave yourself a tone of space to apply cleverness.
>what are some resources you guys know of that can help with building powers?
Weaverdice has each player descibe what kind of power they want on a note and the other players have to make a spin on it.
>>54280504
I use Mutants and Masterminds 3e personally.
And Darker Than Black is thematically WAY different from that other stuff, both in terms of types of stories and the relative scale of powers.
Have you ever made the big bad of your campaign cry? Have you or your players been able to say or do something that either connects with them on a level deep enough or sensitive enough for them to either fall to their knees, give up the fight, see things your way, or be brought to tears? Or have you done something so horrendous that they had no choice but to surrender to you? Or maybe you did make them cry, but that only pushed them to be even more ruthless when trying to destroy the party?
Whose Dynasty does your current PC join?
My paladin would probably go full Shu benevolence fag, but my sneaky jew wizard would side with Cao Cao
>>54280043
My Lion samurai would definitely side with Wu.
HONOR AND GLORY!
>>54280043
I personally would join wu, for ideals. Or Wei due to methods and badass Cao Cao.
Most of my party would join Bloody shu.
At least no one sympathizes with fucking Sima clan.

Nyee-heheheheheh
Okay, lets have a campaign story thread, post your ideas and others will rate them. I'm looking for an idea for a campaign for new level 1's.
>>54279560
>big bang theory
>shitty meme
Fuck off, normie.
Have you ever had a PC that went out of their way to redeem a villain?
Maybe the villain did have a tragic backstory. Or maybe they were just so extremely delusional or brainwashed that they didn't realize they were evil.
Whatever it was, it really struck a cord with your player. They made it their goal to redeem the villain and save them.
Share your experiences.
>>54279496
I take it you're not too happy that your previous thread got deleted by an errant mod because of the OP image?
>>54279548
what
Hey guys, It's my first time posting on this board. I dunno, maybe you can give me some advice.
I've started working on my own TCG (or CCG) recently. I have written a sketch for the basic mechanics and overall rules and I want to start making some cards to test how it'd play out. I've been searching for a software that would allow me to create a database of cards and play with someone else. Is pic related the only option available?
>>54278986
I'd recommend starting by blatantly copying a less popular thing.
In other words, eat shit and die, Arcomage is a better game than you'll even make.
>>54278986
unfortunately most any "card maker engine" you look for will be based of another game.
your best bet is to get on something like paint dot net and make a multi layer "base" card that you can easily stick pictures text and stats over the top off.
>>54278986
Fuck, I had a progr for that a long time ago, used it to play Doom trooper, but it had options to add any game or card. I'll try to look for it if the thread stays live
